Elroy care to show us what that side cab is going on?

Picture015.jpg

Ya, It doesn't match and some people don't care for side boxes but Elroy needed the room. Considering the original Proto box is going on 25 year old that style is long discontinued. Purchased through the company for $281. Current price through most outlets is over $400. Ball Bearing slides. The original main and top box is all friction slides. Had to modify the main cabinet slightly to make it fit. Elroy is happy with it.

And you all thought Snap-on screw drivers were neat. Well check out this original "Erector Set" screw driver.

If Elroy recalls correctly those are teeth marks!

Side cabinet looks smashing attached to your old rig.

You must be a bit older than me, I still have my original Erector set screw driver too. They changed the color of the handle to a solid sick yellow color that was not transparent, and still left the name embossed on it, minus the Elroy gnaw marks! :wtf:

Thanks for the tool boxes pictures Elroy, that new Proto side box looks like it would match my dads 12 or 15 year old Waterloo box.

As Elroy understands it, His father got this as a sample at a machine tool show in the 60's. Dad stated it was turned on site using rough castings with the then new state of the art, punched paper tape controlled CNC machine centers. Of course it has been painted and "sporterized"

That could be a twin for my pop's only mic. Boy my dad always put great stock in his mic. He still has it to this day. I was fairly young when he started teaching me to read the mic, perhaps 7-8 years old or so.

Stopped by "Southern Tool" the other day and found these 1/2" drive metrics for $1 each. Great deal other than the fact YOU had to dig them out and assemble the set. That only took about 45 minutes which kind of sucked. We're good now thru 32 mm.

We thought it was a pretty good deal too.

I say well deserved, I would a been scoopin them buggers up too if I had been there. Those are still quality tools, you can see it and feel it. You can just tell, can't you Elroy!

(That is your first U-****? wow, I am shocked) You should have at least gotten one when you bought the new Proto side cab! :headscrat
