Tonight I finally get to start my epoxy coat project. Took a while to get the epoxy thanks to UPS losing part of my order. All I was able to do last weekend was to blow out the garage, and pressure wash it. This is a three car garage on a new house we will be moving into this Saturday, so I've got a short window of opportunity to finish this.

Tonight I am going to apply the etcher, and wash it off. I got a sprayer to help put it on, and hoping everything goes well. Tomorrow night my brother in law is coming to help me to put down the epoxy. I'm getting a little nervous, and hoping that I purchased enough. When I measure it came out to about 650 sq ft, and the kit and 1/2 should cover 750. This is a very similar picture of what the garage looks like, just flipped from my layout.

I'm guessing when I start to apply tomorrow night, I'll start at the back and do the shelf, and then the side edge and work my way out. And then do the same thing when I get to the edge on the side of garage. I got a small roller to help with application. I'm debaiting waiting to do the side walls until after the entire floor is done, just to make sure I have enough to cover that first.

Thoughts?

I'll take pictures through the process and post this weekend.

Put the etching on last night. I swept out the garage again, washed it down, then made up the mixture of the acid and water. I started from the back and worked my way to the front. I kept having to change up my sprayer because it didn't seem to be spraying enough of the mixture. I mixed it all up in a 2 gallon sprayer. It would foam up right when it hit the concrete, but would then fizzle out pretty quickly. I think I covered it pretty good and swept it out and then sprinkled the baking soda on it, and washed everything away.

Put the epoxy on tonight....hoping for good results.

As a fellow TXN, looking forward to seeing the progress and end result. Make sure to watch out for the weather this weekend, depending on what part of TX you're in!

Congrats and best of luck!

Make sure it's completely dry before coating it - putting it down a day after washing it seems too quick to me for it to be completely dry - should do a moisture check with some clear plastic taped down on it for 24 hours and then check for condensation- kitchen wrap works well
