I got to say this is probably my favorite garage setup not only the garage but the room upstairs and the walk way with the trees surrounding it it don't get better looking and comfortable than that on a sunny day. Nice job man.

Thanks for noticing. It is a "sleeper" on this forum for some reason. It was a lot of work and a joy to work in and on!

Hi, Nice building! Here in Indiana we call that a monolithic floor. Our county ordinance don't allow over 720 sq ft. I wish they would consider the integral footings. I think that would ease their stress concerns....Good luck with your building...looks great

Thanks!

...but my bad. I made an early mistake on this forum by starting another thread on the same build. The Shrine has been finished for quite some time. As for the foundation, we don't have many options here in the Tx Hill Country. My slab actually sits on top of the ground and is attached to the solid rock covering the area. There is rebar inserted into the rock base approx. 15 to 20 inches spaced out every 12 inches around the perimeter. This was repeated too many times for me to want to count on the inside as well. All rebar, no mesh, inserted and laid, was attached as one contiguous piece. Then concrete was poured.....it ain't go'n nowhere!

The finished build is here http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...tbox&showall=1

Thanks again!
