Off topic, what size wire did you use to make the wrench holders?

Oh yeah and your wife is really cool :) I am just grateful mine hasn't yelled at me for buying too much stuff.

I used 12 gauge copper wrapped around a 7/8" dowel. For the little wrenches I made the loops around a smaller dowel. I owe that idea to garage journal too.

Lucky man! My ex would have killed me if I tried to put my toolbox in the living room!

WOW in the living room, your wife is a keeper. I would be happy if it was in the basement, but the living room. Wow.

Great idea! I think I'll turn a tapered wooden dowel and make some for myself.

You're a lucky man to have a wife who understands...now talk her into letting you buy more tools, you don't have nearly enough.

Well, I guess that depends. If you didn't have a garage for your tools, and you had the tools spread out around the coffee table, or in a cardboard box on the living room couch, then I can see how one could easily get spousal approval.

Outside of that, yeah, you're one lucky man!

I've often thought about this, some boxes are closer to works of art than a piece of shop equipment. Building one with big drawers and keeping it in your bedroom as a dresser would be really cool.

I had been using a 26" bottom cabinet inside the house for a while. For PC repair or builds. I had a wrap around home office desk and without the wheels, it went under one part of the desk.

HA! Showed those pics to my wife and the look on her face was enough to know that would be a bad idea. SHe tolerated my bike repair stand and bike toolbox in the corner, since she wanted to talke with me while I worked on bikes. But the roller box would be bad for me.

Neat neat idea for the wire and wrenches. Must give that a whirl tonight.

When I was going to marry my wife I had to move from my Apt. to her condo for a short time. Well after renting a storage unit I could not get my tablesaw inside that packed unit so it sat in her dinning room next to the dinner table talk about a conversation topic:willy_nil

years ago when i was still racing flat track, i assembled engines on a coffee table in the living room. but i had to keep my toolbox in the screened in porch at the back of the house.
