recommend a tool cabinet to me. I decided to go with the Harbor Freigt box since I don't need to use my tools everyday and can't justify the cost of a higher level brand name box.

I will say that I believe this is a great box for my type of use. You mileage may very on that. I think if I was opening and closing it all day 5 days a week I might have needed a better quality box. However with my type of use the quality is just fine.

I also looked at the pro box that is a more vertical box. They box looked similar in construction to the 13 drawer box I bought except the finish was a lot smoother. The steel thickness seemed to be about the same. Next I just need to talk my wife into buying me the box that goes on top of this one.

I would recommend this box based on if you have a low use, as I do. If you are going to be opening the box all day long then you may consider another box. I will say I believe this one would hold up to the use for a fair time frame to be able to save for an upgrade. For cost reason alone, you may buy this box to see if it meets your standards before purchasing another box of a higher quality.

I did have an offer of a 1 year old Matco box from Craigslist for 2300 dollars. The guy paid 5700 for it with in the last year and I could not find a scratch on it. I wish I could have justified the cost, but I couldn't.

Again thank all of you for the reviews on your boxes and recommendations. I believe this will be a great box for my use.

Oops I forgot to ask a couple of questions. Should I put those moisture pack things in the drawers or just stick in my tools and not worry? Also I looked at some of those socket organizers while I was there. Should I buy some or are they to low of quality?

Also is there any other things I would enjoy for tool organizing in the cabinet? This is my first real cabinet so I don't having anything to help organize. Most of my stuff has always just hung on peg board or been left in the plastic case they came in like my socket sets and all that good stuff.

A lot depends on the humidity inside your garage.

That box is tougher than you think.

I've seen these boxes in shops(both industrial and auto)quite a bit.Although I'm an(old) SO box fan,I wouldn't hesitate to use one in a shop.After I gave it a coat of clear.

The HF socket trays are not worth the money, the pegs are to close so all the sockets won't fit and they are missing many common sizes. Save your monty and buy either the hanson trays or there is another brand I can't think of right now other members here recomend.
