Just want to say thanks to those of you who do HVAC for a living "and" do late night/weekend/holiday on-call service.
Friday evening we were cleaning up around the house getting ready for a July 4th weekend visit from my son (south Ga., very hot/humid). He is in the Marines and coming home on liberty. Needless to say we were very excited to get everything ready for our visit. As I was cleaning the pool I walked by the a/c unit and heard a buzzing sound but no fan operation. Friday evening, 6 p.m., July 4th weekend.......oh ****
. Called several a/c companies, only 1 called me back. This guy drove 35 miles after just getting home from work.....troubleshot the issue to a capacitor (had one on the truck), checked the servicing, done by 7:30 p.m.
He let me know right up front his company policy and charges. Due to the circumstances I would have paid him double "and" went to pick him up. Because he was very nice, really quick, and made the long drive after working in 100 degree temps all day I gave hime a really good cash tip. I know his service was more a reflection on him, and subsequently his company.
Anyway, thanks. This company will get my call every time from now on. What appeared to be a very easy fix for him could have been a miserable weekend for us, especially with my Marine coming home to visit. Momma's happy
As my grandpa used to say........ "You pay them for how much they know, not how much they do"
