These were my great grandfather Samuel Blueford Carpenter's tools I got from my Dad over Thanksgiving.

Millers Fall No. 118 two-speed breast drill -- 1925 vintage, with both handles
4" hand grinder
1" no name til I clean it vise -- "Pat(ent) Pend(ing)"
Stillson pattern pipe wrench -- with the spring intact

Samuel Blueford Carpenter was a real carpenter around the Galveston Bay area, he built houses. Evidently he needed this big ole vise and this big ole pipe wrench to build 'em.

There is a lot of beautiful Old world craftsmanship in those old homes in Galveston.
My wife is from there and we go down occasionally, I love the old homes from the Victorian era.

Rick: i think you might need to take a few more pictures of that BIG VISE and post them here or on the big vise thread. I can't say i've seen one like that and is there any writing or #'s on it?

sounds like you had a good THANKSGIVING!!

Drives: All the monster vise has on it is "Pat Pend". Evidently my ggfather used it, one of the mounting wings is busted off. I'll probably wire it onto some nifty little wooden mount for display.
