That Buzz!

I just installed 2 brand new lighting ballasts and when I turn on the lights they buzz really loudly for a few seconds but only when they are first turned on. They are wired correctly and ground correctly. What could make them do this? Or what do I need to do to correct the issue? It is very annoying.

Return them. Get the new electronic ballasts. Quiet and more efficient.

troubleshooting is about halfway down. Are you trying to use rapid start ballasts with starters? or they could be just poorly made

You say the ballast are new, but what type are they? Magnetic or electronic? Kinda hard to purchase magnetic style ballast today because they have been banned but may still be available. If the ones you have are electronic then you may have gotten some cheap ones and may need to buy a better quality.
