I never really understood that box...I guess it's for mechanics who like to do things ***-backwards....I guess there is a big market for them...:spit:

Agree, the best shape I've ever seen one in. Price a bit high but he might come close due to it's great condition.

Wow! Thats the best looking one I've seen in a while. It will have a shallow compartment on the back as well. Thats a very nice example (or looks like it) and those thing are tough as nails. I'd prob offer 800 on one that nice and if it works as good as it looks I may go the full asking price. Sometimes pictures can be deceptive both ways but it would def be worth going to look at. If thats the original paint I'd be all over that thing

Mostly aircraft mechanic used them. I know several techs that have them.

What advantage do these boxes have over a traditional box?

For some odd reason they seem to be built stronger, maybe due to the configuration of the drawers, stucture of the box or the gauge of steel used, don't know for sure. I just now they were built to roll over long distances with a big load. Ive seen these with the casters worn down to near nothing and the box still solid as a rock.

I have seen several in person, if it can used away from a wall, it would be a very neat set up. It is about the size of the krl 1000, the drawers are not as deep, but it seems like more useable space overall.

goofy or *** backwards, are not even close to proper description.

While an amateur oil changing diy'er may think it isn't space efficient, while collecting dust along the side of their wall, others have to actually use their tools/boxes, and even drag their boxes to the job.

cool box, good price.

I don't think that the paint is original. Look at the casters, you can see what looks like a matching overspray. Very faint, but there. :dunno:

Upon closer inspection I see what appears to be paint dust in the wheels. It just looks like the dead on color match
