The $10 toolbox

The other night I was lazily perusing Craigslist, checking to see if there was anything of any interest. And while searching, I came across an ad for a toolbox and tools. And at first glance, I wasn't too interested, but I did notice what looked like an old ignition wrench set. So, I started reading the ad (I don't always do this if the pics do not excite me) and it states one carry toolbox for sale, full of tools. Apparently, it was used at an auto repair shop or gas station for standard work, nothing special. Looking at the pictures closer, I spy, well, you can see for yourself:

Now, those are just as the box was purchased, taken (quite poorly, I will admit to), in the back of my truck. The ad had been up for over a month, but the seller responded right away and was perfectly happy to meet the next day. I didn't bother to negotiate, in fact, as neither of us had the correct change, I paid $20. And no, I didn't blink at that. The ad had a picture of the full box on a scale, and it weighed a hair over 50lbs.
So, without further ado, here is what I got:

Grippy things (Diamond, Crescent, Lakeside, Bluebird, Stilson, and such.)
And the ignition set? Sadly, full of hex keys. But does the vinylette remind you of anything?

So, that is what $10 can get you in these times. You just need to keep your eyes open!

"But does the vinylette remind you of anything?"

Yes, the old IBM'ers tool kits. That was how their hex keys were packaged in those old suitcases they carried.

While that is a good haul, the thing I MOST like, is the tape measure!
Brings back memories of my grandfathers tape measures, while he died before I ever needed one, once I started maintaining grandma's house, I used them up and only found one replacement tape. Wish I still had a working one (great pocket size and wish you could still buy tapes).

Maybe Snap-on on the hex set roll?

What a haul for $10 ($20). Now all you need is a box for those Allen wrenches.
