The 2B Ranch

I’ve been lurking here for a while, wishing I had my forever home to have a garage.

Well after retiring from the Marine Corps last year, and some fate that saw my wife and buying here Grandfather’s estate, we know have 10 acres in Texas to be known as the 2B Ranch.

I have a 40x40 metal building full of stuff that didn’t sell at estate, a tractor and lawn mower, stuff we haven’t unpacked, may not unpack.

After some quick clean up, I had to get a gym built, and decided it was way too dark. Swapped out the incandescent bulbs for LED floods, and just got a few LED strips last night that I did a quick magnet and extension cord mount. Here’s what it looked like last night.

Got all 8 of my lights hung last night, and ordered 8 more for the center rows! Feel like it is bright enough I can work and see what I’m doing cleaning up now!

Did some more clean up and organization yesterday. I can almost pull a truck in now. We’re doing a kitchen remodel so I have all the new appliances stored in here, plus a bunch of furniture waiting to be moved in to my BiL’s new place next month.

One of my plans is to frame out a small office/gun room. I have this old wood stove I plan to add for heat.

I love wood stoves like that. My brother has one in his shop in Montana that is almost just like that. Keeps his place pretty warm.

Looks to be a Deere 2020? hiding back there. That'd be a wonderful little tractor to keep around for various tasks around the property. If you really don't want it you can send it up this way and I'd happily give it a home with some other tractor buddies to play with

Hey thanks, it is a 1010. Grandaddy used it for mowing, I haven't had it out yet, hopefully in a week or two it will warm up enough I feel like messing with!

BTT, so I can find on my phone. Can't believe I missed posting blue bonnet pics. Work in barn has been slow since we have a kitchen remodel going too, and trying to clean the property up. Good news is I have both tractors and the lawn mower running well!

Well, not as much done as I had hoped, but with teens and sports, I’m lucky to get a weekend a month to work around here, and we’re renovating the house at the same time!

I’ve organized the chaos enough to have some usable space!

One of my three loads of scrap, I think i’ll Only have one more before the end of the month!
