Nice boxes, my dad gave me boxes A&B as my first boxes and I love them. Easy to see in the top of and light enough to be easily moved around. I believe that it was his first rolling box.

Thanks, I'm really enjoyed the first one and really wanted a matching one. My ocd dictates I like things in pairs. That's pretty cool tour it was his first rolling box.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

Ok bathroom remodel is going. Been long 2 weeks demo and figuring out things. Ok so far removed all tiles, vanity, toilet, and closet basically everything except shower area. Patched 2 by 4ft hole in ceiling where old florescent fixture was, holes in walls where old towel bars and tp holder went. Closet went from 4 ft opening to a 6 ft opening. There no load baring walls but redid header and structure above. Outside closet walls extended 3 inches so closet is now 35" deep. Ceiling and walls all retextured after few days of sanding and mudding. Tile done, vanity done, toilet done. Tomorrow ill do closet surround and install bifold doors. More base molding and second coat of paint in places and done. You ask what does this have to do with garage or GJ. Well that closet will get my wife's washer and dryer out of my garage and in turn ill be able to park my riding mower where W/D was and then I be able to park BOTH my truck and wifes car in the garage. LOL. Its been long time coming but its coming. I havnt done valves, electric, or drains in closet yet. I did pull wall apart and found I couldnt recess w/d into wall even though that wall is a 2x6 wall. Theres a 4 inch vent stack and too much plumbing to be moved. So I padded outside closet walls to gain space I needed. I will redo plumbing and electrical, from garage side of wall since I had a leaking valve once and had to replace that drywall but never finished it plus ill redo sink plumbing too so ill do all of that from garage once bathroom is done. Also another reason I didn't yet was w/d being sold this weekend so wife still using them so will do it maybe sometime in the next week after bathroom is done. Some pics of semi finished parts. uploadfromtaptalk1394763426942.jpguploadfromtaptalk1394763455239.jpg

Wonder why they call it a 7 drawer when it only has 3? Pretty amazing back then for $4 more you could get 3 drawer chest and 9 drawer bottom.

Yeah Gerard, I thought that catalog description made no sense myself. My upper chest is the same as yours, having three drawers on the top, narrow on each side and wider in the middle, and three wide drawers below those.
My 220 piece tool set with chest and cabinet at the time was priced at $359.00 if bought together!!! I paid $150.00 for it on a repossession.

The bathroom is looking good!! Wife wants a new vanity with granite top, new sink and faucet. My son in law (tile man) will take care of it---LOL just a phone call on my part!!!!

Best Regards

LOL, I kinda have same idea. I call my father. Both of us done many of home improvements and so has my FIL and BIL. I can say between all of us we can do almost anything within reason. Somethings are just easier to sub out My FIL vision is going so he just tinkers in garage and BIL lives about 3 hrs away. Mostly its me with help from father. With father retired now he helps cause my lack of time but I try most of time to do it myself. Its kinda old school vs new school but we always need up at same finish line.

Well cleaned up bench to show NEW idea. I'm doing a declutter or selective downsize. That was kinda purpose of new boxes and really wanted a matching one. Cleaned out some of attic other day and one thing I kept has this stool.
uploadfromtaptalk1394332051870.jpguploadfromtaptalk1394332066687.jpg
Got rid of other crappy one and one office chair.
4 boxes sold got 2 vintage ones
uploadfromtaptalk1394332204077.jpg
I got my colors picked out. Silver and red everything on work bench wall. Restore or freshen up all craftsman and paint others to match.
uploadfromtaptalk1394332406512.jpg
New DP plan. I gonna one only one chest on DP table and reusing this drawer I had. This setup allows entire table to be lower and not as deep cause this setup the DP doesn't need to be tucked behind boxes like other design. Overall it will a easier design.

Havnt done much in garage. Been doing bathroom and some interior work. Have family coming into town last week of April. I got bathroom ALL done.
uploadfromtaptalk1396573360287.jpguploadfromtaptalk1396573373599.jpg

Also repainted whole living room foyer and repainted all the moldings and door frames.

uploadfromtaptalk1396573484182.jpg

I did get a new sink for garage at garage sale. I like it cause one its shallow and second it has no divider. Hopefully, I get to spend some time in garage this weekend.

Hey Gerard, the bathroom is looking great. I really like the louvered doors. The colors are really soft and nice, and the shower curtain goes very well with them. Good job on all of it!

Today, I worked outside. Accomplished a lot on sprinkler system and found issue with landscape lighting. Then it happen, a makeover for side of house. If you ever notice you don't see much yard tools in my garage is because I have them on side of house.uploadfromtaptalk1396815386077.jpg
Many years I used these cabinets to store rakes, shovels, etc but really has become a eye sore cause its first thing you see when pull up. So father was getting rid of other cabinet so seemed like the time to tackle this area. Installed 4th cabinet and pulled everything out.
uploadfromtaptalk1396815583199.jpg
My rakes shovels and long handle tools.
uploadfromtaptalk1396815685934.jpg
Smaller tools and misc yard stuff.
uploadfromtaptalk1396815728442.jpg
Compressor and compressor tank storage
uploadfromtaptalk1396815781548.jpg
If remember from the my shop thread the 25 ton press? Well its been sitting on side of house for about a year. I havnt decided what exactly to so with it yet. Its roughly 300 lbs and hated just to scrap it. Plus this holds trans jack adaptor and pressure washer frame im working on.

Well, picked up a small compressor today. I thought it might work for upcoming 30 gallon compressor build for my dad. I realized it isn't but I still bought it.

I can't trust the tank on this one cause of age and unknown condition of inside. I will through strip it clean of parts cause it still runs and pumps fine. I got it for $20 think with parts I can use off it its surly worth it.

Thanks. I love these old compressors. I figured for 20 I couldn't go wrong. I have my main 30 gal kobalt and my 6 gal porter cable for my portable. I have a idea of making a small gas power one or something. I seen you made some.

Well I did confirm tank was to far gone. Here where the first hints.
Welded bum
uploadfromtaptalk1397098211192.jpg
Rounded off drain plug that was rusted in place.
uploadfromtaptalk1397098256975.jpg
Someone used a screw to plug a hole.
uploadfromtaptalk1397098353352.jpg
I cut tank open and this came out. I didn't even get it all or scrap inside tank.
uploadfromtaptalk1397098426361.jpg
Its too bad cause I thought this was good size tank for compressor I was gonna build for my father. Oh well he has friend with a 30gal tank for him when he wants.

I ripped out sink other night to prepare for new sink. I thought I was going to be able to use that new sink I picked up but its just not going to work out as plan. OK plan B I going to use sink from bathroom remodel. Well this sink I'm making it free standing and here's the pile of wood ill be using. More updates as I get building.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

Well, I went with PLAN WTF..... U should change name of my garage the " trail and error garage". 2 sink designs today and still not happy either.
Plan A
uploadfromtaptalk1397434563129.jpg
uploadfromtaptalk1397434592149.jpg
I likes the small sink with slide splash but it just didn't look right and when got it in place I realized I could use bigger sink. So ripped that one apart.
PLAN B
uploadfromtaptalk1397434728295.jpg
uploadfromtaptalk1397434747584.jpg
Ok PLAN B I like sink but I didn't add side pieces. I didn't have wood to do so but legs didn't work. There in the way on gen and mower. On the other hand I got drain and supply lines I don't have to move.:D
PLAN C
Use sink, drain and supply in same location but rebuild frame out of 2x6 and a cement board top and side pieces. The legs are still issue. Than thought WTF the last supports where off the shelf 12in brackets. I got welder and angle. I plan on making my own sink bracket that will support sink on wall with NO LEG supports. Now I gotta clean up mess. uploadfromtaptalk1397435271259.jpg

Went pretty good, sold a couple air compressors, a few vises, and other junk. Trying to make room the shed is getting to full to work. If you know of anyone looking for a large camelback drill i will be selling mine once I get the travel trailer finished and out of the shed.

I quit looking on craigslist, too much stuff and not enough room. Lol

That's cool on garage sale. Space space space. There's not enough toys but just not enough space to put them. Hell out by you should look into a barn or prefab building. My HOA won't allow a shed. I got away with cabinets so far but man if had a shed. Yes I agree with CL. There's a lot of stuff but I also have to be selective so I don't overfill the space I have. I've only got the air compressor and that box so far. I might trade box to my dad for some smaller ones I can use better than this. On other hand, I can make it into cool project if I wanna take the time to make it and rearrange workbench side. Only time will tell.

I hear ya. I feel same thing sometimes.I see ppl on the garage sale thread and vise thread killing it. I never find the vises or deals they find but there are some to be found. I just do a basic search in my county for tool, vise or craftsman. If every 2 weeks something really good pops up where pretty lucky in my parts.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

Well.... Like all my plans things change. I decided to keep the new box and work it in to the program. Here's my idea I'm working on.
uploadfromtaptalk1397785986213.jpg
Welding table now becomes DP table.

Left cman goes from welding equipment to mobile cart 1

Center now becomes new welding and metal working. Including files, punches, drill bits from cman under DP. It will be like my old welding table with flip table bit now with storage from box and storage under that box. Ill fab up custom frame AGAIN but now receiver mounts for vises and such. I'm working out details. This will also get a new paint job to match others.

Right cman stays same stuff.

Cman chest from dp ill fit on bench once I clear it off and use it for common tools and misc stuff I use a lot. Well that's the plan as of now.

I LOVE my new welder. uploadfromtaptalk1397866092522.jpgYep I use my old gas can turned into trash can for a cart. Came home today and decided to cut up a old dollie I made to make a temp roller for my new box.
uploadfromtaptalk1397866125327.jpg
I just had to extend one side to fit. Its not pretty but it will work until I build frame.
uploadfromtaptalk1397866165039.jpg

Well, since I got it out ill show off the chop saw I use. Its actually a miter saw but it spins at 4100 rpm.
View attachment 334423
View attachment 334424
I got it from same lady I bought the generator from. When saw it I wasn't interested in other miter saw but when looked at rpm I bought it. $25 Its a heavy sob with a cast iron construction and makes a great chop saw. A real metal chop saw using this type blade usually turns 3800 to 4100 so it works. My delta compound miter turns 5200 which didn't work to well cutting metal but it did. I just in this case mutlipurposing tool for different material didn't work.
