The new place is looking great and I bet it didn't take long to figure out that GA clay digs much different than FL sand. You know the trailer you want and got close to it. Keep your eyes open for a deal and it will usually happen then you get to decide if you need two or want to let one go.

On another note, when I first saw this I had to wonder how many boxes it would take to have a Giant Wall of Craftsman! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Thank you. It’s coming long. That corner of the barn was 31” low so a lot of fill was brought in and compacted. It was better digging away from barn but not easy as Florida.

I think in long run I’ll probably end up with 3 trailers. A enclosed, a equipment, and the 18’ I just got. I think problem I was having is trying to find one trailer to do everything. As we all know that’s not obtainable. Im sure I’ll find something down the road. I got something for now which is more than I had before. It’s actually paid for itself already because I didn’t have a trailer to bring tractor from 2 hours away. I think next one will be the enclosed which I’ll keep in Florida. That will be better to slowly bring garage up there and eventually help us in final move.

I don’t know how many will fit in there but sure know how many it will take for wife to bury me in back 40. Maybe I should hide the tractor keys. 🤣

I know what you mean about no one trailer. I kept the 4x6 that my dad used for his riding mower and find I use it quite a bit for short dup runs, moving appliances or other things I don't want to lift to the bed of my truck. The only problem is it is too short to back worth a damn. Fortunately it is light enough that I can unhitch, swing and rehitch in about 2 minutes.

I agree. The way I learned to back trailers is trail by fire. I’ve was never that great at it but gotten better since having the campers. Some days I can almost one time my 5th wheel in the driveway. Some days I look like I’ve never pulled a camper before.

There’s been talk about the WOC and making one up in new barn. Well, there might be one heading Ga. I was working and saw something out at the curb. What do you know it was a side shelf for a toolbox. When I got home I tried it on my CM cab

IMG_0637.jpeg

It’s almost a perfect match to one I have already.

IMG_0638.jpeg

IMG_0641.jpeg

I decided to check online again and found this one. IMG_0644.png

So one I had was an original craftsman. The only real difference is the wings are solid on one I found. Here’s both on my vintage Craftsman.

IMG_0635.jpeg

I’m considering bringing this to Ga so have a place to store my tools. Right now it’s packed with stuff that would have a find home for.

Upgrading my towing ability.

When I started my camper journey I bought a weight distribution hitch. This was used on my 2007 Sport Trac with my Jayco Jay feather 165. I purposely oversized the hitch to 10k pounds knowing I would buy a bigger camper. I used this hitch with Dads 2006 F150 with camper 2 and my 2024 Ram 2500 with camper 2 and 3. Biggest issue is that camper manufacturers put the tongue jack. It’s put in a place where it’s impossible to drop tailgate without hitting the tongue jack. So I went out bought an extended stank so I could use tailgate again.

IMG_0666.jpeg

When I got 5th wheel I return the WDH to its original configuration and sold it with the camper 2. I kept extended shank figuring I just spent money to buy it I’ll use it for something down the road. I had a handful of 2 and 2 5/16 hitch’s so it just sat in garage. All this looking at trailers rated for 7k to 14k it was time to get better hitch rated for the job. I figured now it time to make that extended shank work. After searching I found this.

IMG_0670.jpeg

IMG_0668.jpeg

Since the shank was a Curt it fits perfect. Its rated for 10k for 2” and 15k with 2 5/16. Now I can feel comfortable pulling anything I get. I did wind up pulling my tractor and new to me trailer on a 5k 500 tongue rated hitch. 😳 Here’s a comparison to see how extended and drop compared to other hitch’s.

IMG_0671.jpeg

Now at least I can use the shank that was collecting dust and can be used for trailers down the road.

I feel your pain with the tongue jack and tailgate issue. I had a Nissan Frontier towing a Freedom Express 19' TT I was able to turn the Jack head sideways and retap two holes that lined up but had no threads, then I bought a 22 F150 and finally a new Flagstaff 25' TT they use a different jack and this one I'm unable to turn the head on this jack. I was thinking of the extender but saw some things where they allow some flex so I havent done it yet. Really frustrating not to drop the gate when you need to.

What WDH you running? I was running a Curt trutrack 4P. It’s very very similar to the equalizer WDH. Actually people would swap out the sliding retaining bar clips to use on the Curt’s.

IMG_0676.jpeg

This is one I got.

IMG_0681.jpeg

IMG_0682.jpeg

I needed most extension ( for use of tailgate) and more drop (because I have a Ram 2500 4x4) because needed to drop head unit to level the trailer. Only issue I really had is I have a 2.5” receiver on new truck and I have a 2” hitch. So I used a sleeve and an anti rattle clamp. I had a 10K hitch with an upgrade 15k shank on a trailer that GVWR I like was 10500 dry weight was like 7300. Way to much hitch for camper but rather go bigger and stronger.

One added benefit I was surprised to find out since I extended the pivot with ball I had more room to pivot the trailer before hitting the camper with my bumper. It made that 34’ bumper alot more moveable. It’s not cheap to upgrade shank but it was well worth it in my opinion.

I had same issue on camper 3. I took apart head and there wasn’t a way to turn head sideways. Funny part if you look at my new trailer look at where they put jack. IMG_0683.png

The 7 pin is in hole where jack would be plus it’s a longer tongue section then a camper. You got to sit there and wonder why they don’t put longer tongue section and relocate jack on bumper pull campers.

Upgrading the grease guns….

IMG_0690.jpeg

For many years a had a few mini grease guns. I really didn’t use them much. When I got a camper maintenance on axle bearing was a necessity. So I upgraded to pump handle which was the black tube. It was a garage sale find and didn’t work great. I got tired of that one so pistol grip one. The biggest issue with that is that silver tube it leaked ridiculously. I switched it out for the black tube and doesn’t leak as much.🤣 This setup worked well because axles on my campers used a ez lube spindles. I would grease about about every 6 months or as needed.

NOW I have tractor that has about 10 to 14 grease zerks that need greased every 10 hours. 😳 I needed a grease gun update. So I bought this.

IMG_0632.jpegIMG_0633.jpeg

I was looking at the Ryobi 18v but I’ve been having issues with batteries just dying out of the blue. The M18 was nice but I not setup on M18 platform yet. I settle for M12 since I do have M12 stuff. The grease gun was a tool only and came with a 5amp battery for just about $200 with tax. The price was right up my alley. I have a lock n lube end to put on there. To help grease zerks I picked up a pack on these covers.

IMG_0688.jpeg

They should help out with getting dirt in the Zerks.

More attachments for the tractor…

To help getting 3 point implements on and off the tractor I picked up a quick hitch. I was going to get the land pride one, but they want ridiculous money for that.

IMG_0685.jpeg

What does does is it attaches to your three-point on the rear of the tractor then you attach your implement to this. Next I needed something like a draw bar. Basically it’s a hitch to pull carts, trailers, goosenecks, dragging stuff. I ended up buying this one.
IMG_0686.jpeg

It has 2” 2 5/16 balls and clevis already on it. This can also be modified with chain hooks or whatever you need it for your intended purpose. Here’s it in the quick hitch. IMG_0687.jpeg

Here’s a picture that came in package to see it one a tractor. IMG_0689.jpeg

This is going to be great to move trailer and skid logs around. I can’t wait to get my two other attachments which are going to be game changers.

Thinking about all the nights I struggled swapping the box to a bush hog or another attachment, this sounds really nice. I forsee reduced cursing and mangled fingers once you get it installed on the tractor.

Yeah, I can certainly see benefit using the quick hitch. First day…. first hour I had box blade at front of trailer and backed tractor on trailer. For life of me couldn’t get pins on remotely close to line up. Said F@CK this I’m ordering a quick hitch. It’s amazing that something that is relatively very cheap can make such a difference.

"What WDH you running?" The WDH I have is a Husky Centerline thats rated 800-1200 lbs and uses a 2 5/16" ball. I never saw a Jack set that far back. I have no clue why anyone would do that.

I looked up you hitch. It certainly looks like something that can be swapped out.

I haven’t seen it set back that far either. I have invoice from PO when he bought trailer from Kubota dealer. I know he didn’t have skills to move it but not saying it wasn’t moved there. On campers jack are usually bolted not welded. I’ve investigate more when I get back up there.

Cleaning out the 5 Stitches to bring to Barn 55…

We are only a little over a week to a trip to Ga. It’s been a little mad rush to prepare for this trip. One thing was I needed a diesel storage solution for tractor. I found a temporary solution in a FB marketplace ad. Local ad had 4 5 gallon diesel tanks for sale. Family used them once for a hurricane and been sitting since. IMG_0708.jpeg

I got 4 for less than the price of one. This should work until I find something better.

Another FB market place ad. Our son before he passed was a big Florida Gators fan. We celebrate him with some Gators stuff and this is something we can bring to our property and use.

IMG_0699.jpeg

It’s an old water pressure tank and they plasma cut designs in them. This will be great on front porch in sitting area.

IMG_0698.jpeg

Next with upcoming trip I trying to bring up stuff to empty my Fl garage to bring to barn. I already brought stuff from both outdoor sheds and now it’s stuff from attic and garage. This little drawer unit is something my dad had in his first work van. He moved it from van to van and he removed it when he retired. I’ve used it for various purposes over the years. It’s been beaten it’s been abused but it’s just been in my way lately. The stand is a craftsman grinder stand and green box something I got from Craig years ago. I can’t remember what I was going to use it for. So with plywood that I’ve been tripping over and some casters I created this.

IMG_0700.jpeg

It’s a mobile grinder/ vise thingamegiggy. 🤣 I needed a grinder to do various jobs so my old odd ball Dayton is getting the call. It’s been sitting on shelf since all my other bench grinders are Craftsman block grinders. My plan was turn us into a polisher but that ever happen. The vises are off shore made angle drill press vise and a Reed 103 1/2 that’s been collecting dust since I bought it. I small brother to my Reed 105. Since the craftsman stand has a set bolt I can loosen it and swivel entire top if needed. IMG_0701.jpeg

I also made the DP vise moveable if I needed it.

IMG_0703.jpeg

I think these vises are handiest little things. I’ve used it for everything but for what it was intended. I use it a lot in upright position to work on string trimmers, the attachments, and for laying blades flat for sharpening.

IMG_0702.jpeg

IMG_0709.jpeg

I have room to mount another grinder or maybe this 1” belt sander. It’s a definitely not a finished product, but it’s a few more items out of the Florida garage.

Pushing through…

The “work side” of my garage has been I mess for years. I rearranged over the years just to make it kinda work. When I moved the black cabinets away from garage door that was a step in right direction. Then I didn’t have to move the scooters to get stuff and gave me a path to get to bench’s. This weekend I kinda reverted to a layout I had before. IMG_0716.jpeg

IMG_0717.jpeg

IMG_0718.jpeg

IMG_0720.jpeg
I can’t remember last time I could actually see the top of my workbench. IMG_0724.jpeg

It’s not all super clean and organized but it’s my messy work side. I come to realization that it’s never gonna match other areas and I can live with that. It’s definitely a major improvement over what it was.

Well, there was talk about this subject not to long ago and finally pulled the trigger on it. Say Hello to my little friend. IMG_0723.jpeg

There are so many good saws out there it’s really tough to choose which one to buy. I always had good luck with Echo and heard good things about them on YouTube so went with them. I was initially gonna go with the 590. Once you did all the upgrades and modified it, you would be more and still not performance of the 620. I could beat the price coming in around $700. That’s with fully wrapped handle, 27” bar with 3/8 full house chain and dogs all ready installed. I Intend for this to be my forever saw so it was very important to decision to choose right one. When get up in this class it’s very easy to get over $1000

IMG_0725.jpeg

IMG_0726.jpeg
I finally got to see in person a full house chain. So this is what everyone talks about when they’re running their big 30”+ bars and full house chains. This thing is ridiculous compared to stuff I have experience with.

A couple big investments for the property. It was really tough paying people to do work, but I didn’t have the equipment. It’s gonna be really satisfying that I can do my own work on my property now that I have the tractor and capable saw. Can’t wait to get up there and put the stuff to work.

Houston… the Eagle has LANDED…

IMG_0747.jpeg

God I love this tractor. I barely put 3 hours on it and it’s already lifted and moved a bunch of heavy stuff. I went up fully loaded. Wife, dogs, half the back seat and bed fully loaded and I had to leave couple of things behind because ran out of room. Ended the night with a little fire 🔥

It’s been busy week so far. Saturday we unpacked and mowed the roads. Sunday tried out the tractor rake and it’s better than nothing but definitely need a bigger one. Monday the Kubota went to dealer to be serviced. Monday and Tuesday worked on some infrastructure stuff. Got the tractor back late Tuesday night and this morning I picked up a new toy for the tractor. IMG_0760.jpeg

IMG_0762.jpeg

Finally found light weight pallet folk setup with 48” tines. This is gonna be so helpful with moving a lot off around the property. I also put the chainsaw together. It’s crazy compared to my other ones. 🤣 Time to get some chainsaw therapy.

When I first go my big Echo I remember the first startup and when it idled it sounded like a big block rumbling compared to the old Stihl 170 I had before. It will devour the wood when you use it but will wear your arms out.

It’s an amazing feeling to use a chainsaw without having to tinker with it to get it to run. I only ran it for about a hour but definitely felt it at end of the day.

You will love the forks, it my most used attachment. Is that a little Mac saw on the right?
Yes it’s a Mac 3214. It was always a reliable saw until lately. Rebuilt the carb and did fuel lines. Tuned it and it was good to go. Today it decided it didn’t want to start so used the poulan and echo.

I absolutely love using the pallet forks. I couldn’t get the work done I did today without them.

Today I needed to clear area behind the barn. Fueled up the Kubota, got chain saws ready and got to work. Kubota putting in the work. One of the huge trees dragged to burn pile. IMG_0763.jpeg

Those forks coming in handy.

IMG_0784.jpeg

Learn firsthand today if you own a tractor **** will break for no apparent reason and you will lose all pins quicker than a 10 mm socket. I was using the rake to move the small debris. The one issue is that the rake cat zero and it’s not set up for a quick hitch. You have to adjust your stabilizer arms and top link. Everything else I have is quick attach capable. I ended up clamped that son of a ***** to the forks.IMG_0785.jpegIMG_0786.jpeg

Lost the top link pin, lost the swivel pin, bent 2C clamps. It’s definitely coming back to Florida to get some upgrades. It actually worked great attached to the front forks. Just keeping it attached was the issue🤣. At end of day removed about 20 trees and big one coming out by people to cleared area for barn. It was dead and didn’t want it falling anywhere near new barn. He said he would come remove it once he had access to it. This area only had about 3 foot walking path to base on tree before I cleared area.

IMG_0789.jpeg

I left stumps because son in law gonna remove them with his excavator well he gets the time.

It’s been a little busy around here. One issue I’ve been having is I needed equipment in both properties. Last trip up I forgot to bring home a string trimmer. I’ve found a 18v ryobi trimmer so been using that. While it’s been ok it’s not what I’m used to using. My toros have been giving me issues and frankly I’m done trying to make them work.

IMG_0862.jpeg

So I decided to buy new trimmer. Since I have 2 other echos and only echo attachment fit Echos I bought other. I ended up buying an echo spilt shaft with string trimmer and edger attachment.IMG_0863.jpeg

I ended up going through all my power heads and attachments. Someone asked once why did I have a long bench and this is reason why. 🤣

IMG_0864.jpeg

I the dust settled I ended up with this for my Florida setup. IMG_0866.jpeg

I kept the the Ryobi setup just because it’s nice quick setup for quick job. The blower is PB9010 which replaced my Shinadawa back pack blower. The thing a beast but works great for “raking” leaves. A week after I ended up finding this at the curb.

IMG_0888.jpeg

One bad fuel line and it works great. This will heading to Ga on next trip.

I had opportunity to run to Ga for few days so needed to get rake fixed. The main problem was getting to work with the quick hitch. I ended up replacing the cat 0 pins with Cat 1 pins. IMG_0882.jpeg

I did have to open holes to fit.

IMG_0883.jpeg

I also cut some motel out to fit upper hook on quick hitch.
IMG_0884.jpeg

IMG_0885.jpeg

I’ll test fit when get up there and plan more mods if needed. I also needed to swap out lawn mowers. My buddy had a mower he didn’t need so I took it. I’ve been using it at Fl house but decided to bring my Troy bilt back to Florida. It just makes sense because of the motors. I got 2 Honda 160 engines up in Ga between my pressure washer and a spare motor and this has a Honda clone. Then I will have all my B&S engines in Fl with pressure washer and lawn mowers. This forks so handy.

I had 3 day trip to Ga and I had 3 task to do.

First one was getting the Starlink setup. Unfortunately, this is our only option to have internet on the property.

Second was to get some camera setup. I ended up staying with Ring camera. I been using them in Florida for couple on years now. I went with solar this time. These also the stick up cam plus. It supposed to wider view and better resolution. I have 5 of reg outdoor plug cams in Florida so with be good to see difference.

IMG_0868.jpeg

I even made a bin with all the stuff related to Ga.

IMG_0875.jpeg

I got them setup and got some good pictures. Only issue I found is solar/ battery cams can’t do a capture rate of the plug in cams. The wide view and picture quality is better. Some pictures of the deer.

IMG_0932.jpeg

IMG_0931.jpeg

I left Tuesday afternoon and saw helicopters in town. I thought it was weird but I was running late and needed to get home to wife. Next morning we have some visitors at the gate. 😳

IMG_0934.jpeg

Turns out that helicopter was looking for someone and had reports had them on my road. Mr Bob let them check out property and all was good. They caught guy not to far away. Good thing I got cameras setup up.

My wife was supposed to make trip up but she was in hospital for few days and really wasn’t up to travel. Mr Bob and his wife wanted to do something to cheer her up and put some plants and bird feeder on front porch.

IMG_5536.jpeg

It was so nice sitting outside watching the hummingbirds.

The last thing I had to do was move camper but was waiting on guys to finish some trim. They finally got it done. I wasn’t happy with cut between siding and roof so they installed a black trim piece to cover it.
IMG_0898.jpeg

Just one of the rain storms that came through.

IMG_0939.jpeg

I reinstalled the 5th wheel hitch and moved the camper.

IMG_0904.jpeg

I finally got to pressure wash the front porch. Man it was muddy from water splashing up.

IMG_0917.jpeg

I will be dealing with this on future trip.

The trailer I got has been to the get to do list since I got it. I didn’t want to tear into it just in case I needed to use it. Problems I’m having is losing connection with my truck and poor braking from trailer. I decided to dig into the connection issue first.

IMG_0827.jpeg

Previous owner replaced 7 pin so after trying to check for lose connections the plug basically broke apart in pieces so I ordered a new plug, cord, junction box deal.

IMG_0825.jpeg

I really like this idea because to separates truck connections and trailer connections. I got it in a 8 foot lead. It’s better to have it long in my experience vs to short. One benefit is I don’t have to be close to plug it in.
IMG_0958.jpeg

This trailer has just poor workmanship and a lot of poor connections. After I rewired the tail lights and swapped bulbs out for leds it was like to work on the brakes. This trailer has brakes on one axle not both and I suspect they weren’t self adjusting. So I pull left side and found they weren’t. ☹️

IMG_0956.jpeg

You know there are just some tools your glad you bought. This has to been one of my favorite tools for jobs like this.

image.jpg

I never been good at adjusting drum brakes until they drag. I know it’s easy for some but something ive always struggled with. Adjuster wasn’t stuck I adjusted a little. The right side had a different issue.

IMG_0960.jpeg

This trailer has a lippertt axle so they call it super lube axles. Basically a grease zerk on spindle and you can lube bearings. Problem is people don’t lift axle and spin wheel while pumping grease in. If don’t grease can bypass seal and get inside drum. In this case gets where magnet rides and it won’t grip the drum working the brakes. So axles are greased, brakes checked, new cotter pins in axle nuts, new caps and dust covers. Im taking a brake from doing some welding on trailer baking in the sun thinking to myself didn’t I just build a huge barn with covered spaces to do this work somewhere? 🤦🏻‍♂️
IMG_0965.jpeg

Another thing was all my HD cords are in Ga. Metal had rust so couldn’t don’t TIG. Haven’t run stick on TIG yet and don’t have rods to even do stick. My Lincoln 140 doesn’t have power with MIG so switched to .30 flux then switched to .35 flux and finally got some decent welds. Man, I like having a 110 machine for convenience but it would have been nice to have a 220 machine running MIG or dual shield today. Just did some areas that needed some attention but I’ll leave rest of areas until I get some sticks and can run my TIG welder on 220 in driveway. At end of the day I got front tongue wiring all tidied up. I relocated to battery for break away in safe location. 🤣 Apparently, while moving the trailer with my pallet forks it jumped in my way. The battery is questionable and doesn’t hold a charge. They sell entire new kit at rural king for like $50 so mount is done.

IMG_0968.jpeg

One other thing is I had the thing I made up for running C clamps in and out quickly and turns out it work great on tongue jack. I can still pull handle back on quickly but sure beats turning buy hand.

IMG_0964.jpeg

After test drive I still need to adjust brakes again. It’s just not stopping like my campers did. Maybe I’m asking a lot for a single axle braking system to stop my truck. I remember same drum size my 3500lb camper stopping my Sport Trac just with trailer brakes. It’s good thing I got great brakes on the Ram.

Had the opportunity to head up to the property. One issue I had yet addressed is grading around the barn. I was having certain areas pooling and it would make everything a muddy mess. One rule I made up is nothing muddy goes in barn without being washed down. This was just back porch.

IMG_1032.jpeg

Few other things is I wanted a 20 to 30 foot road around the barn, I pond for water to go to and dirt to fill front porch area. So I tried digging with bucket and scrapping with box blade. Can’t complain to much for first attempt.

IMG_1004.jpeg

IMG_1005.jpeg

Ended up with big pile of dirt well this is some of it. I tried build a ramp for front porch and build up everything. There’s still more to do like always there’s never enough time. IMG_1020.jpeg

I debated just having a truckload of fill dumped but figured try using what I had onsite. The big debate right now is do I try growing grass or do I do 30 of rock around the entire barn. Right now I trying to grow grass and see what happens over the next year. The grass is filling in slowing from construction of the barn.

This past weekend was a nice 4 day trip up to the property and wife was feeling good enough to make trip. It was supposed to be a relaxing no work weekend with maybe few hours of mowing. Well I got into some shop upgrades. First was lighting. I took clamp lights, took shield off, and added some LED light from dads. I bought them for him and worked good in his garage and now using them in barn. IMG_1008.jpeg

IMG_1007.jpegIMG_1006.jpeg

2 lights and honestly can’t complain about it as it’s just a temporary solution.

IMG_1010.jpeg

Next thing is wife wanted a picnic table. We got a 6ft one from Lowe’s for $80. It took 30mins to bolt together and wife bought some covers off Amazon. Honestly, can’t complain to much for price. I had visions of big *** 8 to 10 ft ones from our Ginnie Spring camping days. Those literally took minimum 4 strong men to move and was made from 2x6 and 2x8 and sat 8 people. Some day down road but for now just is fine.

IMG_1037.jpeg

IMG_1024.jpeg

Next was some organization inside. The table worked but was getting out of control.

IMG_1038.jpeg

I ended up picking up some shelves and buckets. The buckets are to hold stuff like deer feed, bird seed, etc. Under $4 a piece at Sam’s club. The shelves were $100 each. I was thinking of doing pallet racking against this wall but that’s really a down the road project. This is how it turned out currently. It’s always a work in progress.

IMG_1041.jpeg

The other unit is for parts and pieces I bring up to attempt to be more organized. The black totes I had already hold hoses in one and electrical cords and another. I do have a dollie for them to sit on. It’s currently being used for my 5th wheel hitch. The extra one we use just to bring stuff back and forth. Just easier to toss it all in tote and put in truck or her car. I might be picking up more of these in future and of course more buckets. Can’t have too many buckets.

Another weekend… another trip to GA. Had some meeting with people so it’s was a work trip. After my meetings it was set my deer feeding area. I use big metal post stakes and pt 4x4x6 IMG_1110.jpeg

IMG_1129.jpeg

IMG_1131.jpeg

It took few days after setting it up to have deer come feed off of first feed setup. They came out that morning to new setup.

IMG_1132.jpeg

Unfortunately as much as deer like it so do the raccoons.

Good ole 1/2 cup talked about QST and lately I’ve been learning about QTT (quality tractor time). So much I put over 40 hours on my Kubota since I got it. IMG_1111.jpeg

We been getting a lot of raining so things been growing. To make things a little more manageable I decided to break things up into sections. It was time to tackle the field.

IMG_1113.jpeg

Limbing up the trees in area to make mowing easier.

IMG_1115.jpeg

IMG_1116.jpeg

IMG_1118.jpeg

After that I started the area from cut through to the barn.

IMG_1123.jpeg

IMG_1125.jpeg

IMG_1124.jpeg

This is a good start as these trees never been trimmed. I did remove maybe 10 pines out of here. Just the ones that made sense as I would like to keep as many trees as possible. I just used a battery sawzall for all the trimming.

Some mid week roadside finds.

I getting setup in Ga but there’s always stuff that I like bringing with me. I got been using this Pelican case to transport stuff back in forth.

IMG_1146.jpeg

IMG_1147.jpeg

It works but there always stuff thrown is depending on work I plan on doing. While working I found some stuff to make these Dewalt cases.

IMG_1145.jpeg

I’m a big fan of these cases as the make cool toolboxes. I use an oscillating tool to remove the dividers.

IMG_1144.jpeg

I like keeping to small that would be for small bits. I also found cord reel and air hose.

IMG_1148.jpeg

These will go to Ga and I needed a longer hose for my compressor and reel is always handy. I answered a FB add within a hour of posting and I was 34th in line. 🤬 It’s was a “you ****” deal for someone.

IMG_1149.jpeg

Another one gets away. Oh well one day I’ll find my deal.

Today, I had to take wife’s car in to get serviced and a small warranty repair. On way home I stopped by flea market just to check at this one vender who had some decent stuff. I just needed a break from everything going on. Well to my surprise there’s about 10 people selling now and few more setup outside. I might have to stop by this place more often now. This is what I got.
IMG_1160.jpeg

IMG_1164.jpeg

I honestly don’t have a ax so this will be useful in GA. This wrench caught my eye and was a decent price. The find of the day was the vise. There’s one guy selling restored devices and talk with him for about a 30 45 minutes. He had this sitting on this table. It’s really unique, but said to myself it’s a good price, but I really need another vise when I have good assortment of drill press and angle vises. I walked around and said to myself I have to go back and get it.

IMG_1161.jpeg

IMG_1163.jpeg

It’s definitely a machinist vice, which was someone’s shop project. What doesn’t show up in the pictures is how beefy someone made it. The only way to really get a mental image of how well someone made this thing is to compare it to another 4” drill press vise.

IMG_1166.jpeg

I would be kicking myself if I bought it and kicking myself if I didn’t buy it in the end, I’m happy I went back and got it.
