Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

Luv it Gerard and well done.

I see you are well prepared in the event of a fire.

Regards

Thanks just kinda of set it up to see how it's all going to work out then at some point down the road I'll blow it off our build the wall out like others, drywall, build some new shelves and paint that cabinet.

I only have maybe 1 or 2 that are good. The others are past that 12 year date but they are still holding pressure and don't need to be recharged so I have them I figure it's better to have him that not

Gerard, I like the cabinets! It is a great benefit to your place, and the doors are a great idea. Looks like it fits in there nicely. Good on having the extinguishers where they are.
Your doing a lot and it is looking great. Keep up the good work!

Best Regards

FIRST TEST FIT OF TRUCK WITH NEW SINK LAYOUT.

I got first chance to pull truck back in and see how things sit. So far I think it's all gonna work out.

I do have one issue but I got a shorter piece so this won't stick out that far.

So far things are working out as planned on first attempt. LOL that's a first.

I know it would mean changing the plumbing a little bit, but if you rotated the water heater about 20 or 30 degrees towards the fridge and put an elbow on the drain, it would be tucked out of the way.

Good score with the old kitchen cabinets too Gerard, they look like they're made for that space.

Gerard,

Great changes you've been making. I have a stainless sink similar to yours I've been saving to use someday when I have a bigger space. Can't wait to be able to wash parts and hands in the garage! Looking good!!!

I thought of doing that but gonna seem different shorter pipe makes them make a decision. The thing is a 15 year water heater and I put a ton of new parts in it. We have hard water and I take elements out and **** any mineral deposits and flush it out. When I moved in this house the tank was filled 2/3 of way with calcium. I'm not sure if I rotate the tank if I could still service it the same. The plumbing wouldn't be harder to change but then again I did use those removable hoses so servicing it might not be a issue. It's something surly to rethink when I move everything to do the drywall. Thanks for thinking of that.

It's to bad I couldn't use the total cabinet but some is better than nothing. I tried to think where I could use it and not cut it but that would involve arranging the garage and at this point I like everything where it's at. The cabinet ended up meeting MR SAW and got a trim. I was gonna hang it on wall but just putting it on the shelf ended up working out and might do that again when I blow area apart. It's sure easier that way.

Thanks. Do you have access to a drain line in the garage? I was at buddy's house today and he washed his greasy hands outside. He says his wife won't allow him to clean his hands inside the utility room. At one point I cleaned my hands outside or in kitchen sink which made my wife super happy. LOL. I could do away with many things but not that damn sink. I garage sink is better than cleaning up outside or ******* off the wife by using the kitchen sink and cheaper than the divorce attorney. It's marriage saver in my book lol.

I don't think it has a drain but we're still renting anyway so I wouldn't want to do anything to permanent. Next house.

Yeah I can agree on that. When I was renting my landlord was great but there is a limit on what you want to do.

Have a good one Gerard

I see what you mean - it might make it harder to get to the access panel, so...on to "plan B"....

If you put a 90 degree elbow on to your new (shorter) extension, point it to the left and attach some more of the flexible pipe (like the plumbing on top), with another elbow (or elbows as required to make it point outwards again) and mount the drain-valve on the leg of the sink.

I know that the fridge sticks out past everything else, but I could still see myself kicking my toe on that ball-valve.

Thank you, there is no way to put into words what a huge difference that makes. I can leave it in its current state and be perfectly happy with that but all know me way too well to know it's going to stay that way. LOL

Re: My "Shop"

Today wife and I hit the flea market and found some good finds IMO. Now remember this this same flea market I found my last Craftsman. Well I found this one today.
It's a Craftsman/ Kennedy machinist 526.

b929a85486dd49648cba050b493d3c94.jpg

It's not in the best shape but I couldn't walk away at this price.

My plan for it will come in later post so your just have to wait and see.
Next find was this Garland No2

Now I love these hammers cause of the fact you can make your own insert cause they spilt in two.

Here's my Garland No 3 with a rawhide and a rubber insert.

Now the the biggest find of the day.

Now I can say I'm a member of the vintage Craftsman block grinder group.

All together I spent $45 and had a nice morning out with the wife. All in all it was a great morning.

Awesome finds Gerard! I especially like the grinder. Very similar to my Dads I now have. I'll have to look for a date stamp. Nice work!

Thank you. I just turned mine over and in was inked on bottom. I wasn't even looking for it. I wasn't in market for a grinder since I already have 2. I'm not sure pricing on theses but though $30 was a fair price for this and being how many rave reviews I hear about these I grabbed it.

WOW, done well Gerard:thumbup:

Thanks, I gonna have to rearrange the toolboxes again but I planned some of that already pre buying the machinist chest. This one is gonna be a fun project to do. Ideas are following as I type.

Cool finds, great prices! You **** LOL!

Thanks, I'll happily take that YOU **** LOL. 2nd time to that flea market in about 2 months and 2nd time a craftsman toolbox finds me. LOL. I got tired carrying that toolbox around so went back to truck and said I'm good and thought about heading home but went back to see some aisles I didn't see and spotted the grinder and hammer. Then at that point decided to head home happy with my finds.

DING DING DING You gotta well deserved "YOU ****".

Now, I was doing fine until I saw you get the Craftsman Block Grinder. Then my JEALOUSLY button was rammed through my brain! These, here, DO NOT ever appear.
My little dirty cap is off to you my friend. I can't wait for your restore on the block grinder.
I will tell you when I see the photo how wonderful your work was, and how great it looks on your bench, but I reserve the right to be jealous, and as jealous as I want to be!

GOOD FINDS

Best Regards

Thanks Herb, I was shocked to find it myself. I thought he would ask a arm and leg for it but $30 was no brainer. I posted it over on the block grinder thread and WOW the things ppl said. Some paid $60 for the glass shields off eBay. After all the responses I think I got a hell of a deal.

I had no idea they even existed until my neighbor gave me one. They're great hammers and think they are still made last time I checked on prices for inserts.

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me Gerard, but the hammer that you got appears to have a rock mounted betwixt it's halves.... was it previous owned by a cave-man? :lol_hitti

Great score on all you purchases.
