Mark, I think if he gets any more boxes, he'll be looking to extend his bedroom into the garage. Mrs. Gerard will have him sleeping on his wall of craftsman.:D

What if I get a smart car and put it in the back of the truck that will free up one whole bay for stuff?

A friend of mine brought a Smart Car a few months ago and that's what he does.

You have the Sport Trac for group outings so a Smart Car, Fit or Spark would be great idea for the Mrs. Between the new car and your reuse/repurpose/recycling of tool boxes, I bet Al Gore would fly in on his private jet and give you a medal for lowering carbon emissions. :rocker:

Gerard will not need any encouragement to snap those gems up.

Regards

It's not that I don't want to is where can I put the mid chest yet along bottom roller. I been sick in bed since Friday night but went out this morning and check out 2 ideas I had to possibly fit more boxes just not enough room. [emoji20] I knew that once I finally bought the last 2 pieces that these ads would show up.

Gerard you don't have a hair on your......., if you don't buy something from this add. Since CB chained his sander to his old rusty, tool cabinets, I guess I should buy the sander.

Buy the sander and stack. Then run by my house and I trade you the mid for a 6 drawer top chest. Actually the work stations are cool too so buy it all.

Now I'm confused, are after my old rusty Listas or the sander?
Just want to know what I should chain up:beer:

"a few small changes" my ***! Wow!! You've made LOTS of BIG changes in there. And it really is looking amazing.

Keep up the good work, and I'll keep reading.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it. [emoji482]

Im still cracking up over your reaction. Well it all depends on how you define "some small changes" and remember it's me now. LOL. I really wanted a certain look for the craftsman wall and decided to do whatever was necessary to make that happen. I got the Craftsman wall basically said how I'm going to have it minus finishing touches and paint.

That new mobile table is going to work out awesome. I haven't even started really to build on it but there are some things I haven't posted yet that I've done. When the dust clears I'm only left with a few things without a home I have to figure out what I'm gonna do with my welder, the tanks, etc. and the 3 drawer file cabinet is up I air what exactly it's finally use will be. Now with all the major pieces in place I can really fine-tune everything into exactly how it's gonna work and function and then finalize a lot of these projects I've never finished.

Gerard,

Keep up the work, it's inspiring. Wow, one would think there are ALOT of older Craftsman toolboxes down in your area... and they're all in your garage! :)

Edit: I just found this on craigslist in my area:
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/tls/5538203369.html

I figure if you were in the area, you'd have bought it already. :)

BTW, I got one of those Black Rally tool boxes like you have (little 3 drawer) back when I was 18, and I still have it. :)

Thank you. I'm happy that inspire people to get out there and do something. When I started the thread 5 Stitches Garage thread my thought was to show people that it doesn't need much money to get big results. I glad to see people are still taking notice when every garage seems to have high dollar race deck floors, gladiator cabinets, and such. Not that there's nothing wrong with doing that but IMO seems to be a trend that you have to do that to get noticed. Might not have worded that correctly but think you following idea.

I have a theory and that is since Florida is a retirement state that many sell a lot the their stuff before moving down here. When I was following other ongoing thread like vise or garage sale threads people found good stuff up north or mid west. Some places it's just raining old vises for dirt cheap and those don't happen down here to often especially where I at.

Unfortunately I gave the rally box to my father to use because it's didn't match anything in garage. It's a great little box. I had another similar box I have to friend. I haven't spoken to them in years and now curious about what I actually had. I know it was 3 drawer carry but wasn't a rally box. I'll have to google it and see what it was.

Gerard,

Thanks for the reply. And yes, I enjoy seeing what people can do with and without throwing alot of $ at it. Even with many of the garages here on GJ where they spend a decent amount of $ on their garage, they take the time to organize it, try different layouts, etc. This is one of the best forum's I'm a member of, due to all the helpful people and ideas I've gotten.

I did a further search on the local craigslist, and there are a number of craftsman boxes of different kinds around, more than I thought.

Have a good one!

I couldn't agree more. I really enjoy seeing people's visions. I doubt there's another website with the knowledge of GJ in fact any Google search results always come up with GJ first. Personally, I love seeing the UK and Aussie builds. Then tend not the have the large garages, shops, and barns so they make most of the spaces.

Has she been after you to do a kitchen remod? And you've kept her at bay while you made the wall of craftsman? And you still get to sleep in the house? Wow Gerard, I'm impressed. If my wife wanted (and she does) a kitchen remodeling and I spent all the money in the shop, I'd probably be sleeping in the garage with my tools. Or is Shorty just suggesting you offer to remodel the kitchen?

Well, we had a kitchen remodel about 8 years ago when we had the sinkhole repairs. Unfortunately, we couldn't make any changes to the layout so basically got new cabinets and counters. Our plan is to remove a wall and drop ceiling and open it up the living room and front room to give a more open feel. First, we have to replace the the roof. It was roof over back in 1998 so looking at 2018 doing that using 20 year rule. I do have a architectural shingle which is a 25 to 30 year shingle but dealing with citizens insurance they might force the issue at 20 years because they are trying to get rid of customers.

How I Kept the wife happy through the Wall of Craftsman and through the almost 10 year build of the 5 Stitches is a trade secret. All I can comment on is that is that purses, shoes ,and jewelry is the only way to make a woman smile. LOL

Shorty is a just starting trouble. He's a Shopwreaker! LOL. I got his number now. LOL He doesn't sleep with our wives but gets into their heads enough to cause a disruption which interns causes the wife to demand more of the husbands time and money doing date nights. When the couple is on these date nights he goes to there shops and takes all are good stuff. LOL. You saw him with CBs stuff..... Hmmmmm

I see. Your motives were shellfish. Wow isn't it like 4:00 am where you are? You're up kind of early, or very very late.

Hmmmm, I think he's casing the place out. I GOT IT! I can make dummy boxes and move the good stuff to safe keeping. I'll make sure to make them realistic and I'm sure he will have no issue flat packing cardboard boxes up. LOL

Made a legend for Wall of Craftsman thread.

3cc2cbf1e4bad9bbbbdce1bd0b7a6c30.jpg

The legend has type of box and date stamp on each for example

9B 10/65. 9 drawer bottom roller made in 10/65.

I also made a cheat sheet for myself in my 5 Stitches Garage thread.
6d7bbe2fddaf1e9dd6a342091f3947f3.jpg

This reads order in which I got, type box, date stamp, date posted or got it, and post number in 5 Stitches thread.

So you need all the boxes to store your purses, shoes and jewelry :headscrat

I cannot confirm nor deny I have any involvement in orchestrating any date nights that may or may not give me time to inspect.

Gerard you need to go to a trophy shop and have tags made for each box.
