I saw this in a thread over on the GG. It's supposedly a real craigslist ad and my worst fear bringing home anymore toolboxes.

I've warned him for the last time: Bring home one more tool and I'm having a yard sale. He brought home the tool that broke the camel's back. He's out of town for a few weeks and I have nothing to do - until now.

I'm selling all his tools: yard tools, power tools, rechargeables, hand tools (screw drivers, drill bits, hammers, anything with a handle) and there are even a couple of pneumatic tools.

I also have some of his clothes, his favorite chair (damn things broken and so is he), table/dinning room set, and hammock. There's a dehumidifier, air filter, power painter (needs cleaning), dishes, kitchenware and too many other things to mention.

For the kitchen, I have a chocolate fountain, waffle maker, omelet maker, electric can opener, toaster, spice grinder, casserole dishes, skillets, glasses, dishes, wine glasses, flatware, and miscellaneous stuff. All his favorite things, mind you.

I'm planning this for May 13th & 14th from 9 am to 1 pm. But since I'm so pissed, you can contact me and get stuff before the sale, prices will be less flexible until the actual garage sale. We'll set up a time for you to come by and scrounge.

Oh and if anyone is in the market for a low-down, lazy, pot-belly, bald-headed, bum, you can have him too. I wont even charge you for him, though he was kinda cute when he was younger and had hair and a MUCH smaller waist line (pig).

And just for the record, I am NOT bitter.

Here's the link

I honestly don't know if this is true or not but I don't want to tempt faith. LOL

Geez, That sale in Lansing is not far from me. I feel bad for the poor guy. Part of me wants to go to the sale and part of me would feel bad if I bought one of his tools.

So.... banging his wife is out of the question?

Probably not. I think he was banging someone else's wife and his wife found out which got his wife/ girlfriend pissed. Bitter is not a word a woman often and only in certain phrase so....

Doubt getting pics of me in the tub. LOL

My bathroom is strange layout. Picture 3 boxes 1st box it bedroom , 2nd is vanity area with dual sinks and big walk in and 3rd is toilet and big walk in. Painting has been slow going i got bedroom done months ago and left off at wall entering sink area. I got really good first coat on but will have to do second coat on sink area. There a lot of cutting in to do. It's such a small area which think would be easy but work been busy with Mother's Day and by this weekend been working 12 days straight and wife's been putting in 12 hour days also. She's up at 0430 to been at work at 0600 by time she gets home and eat dinner she's off to bed by 800 830. It's hard to work in bedroom/ vanity area with lights on cause she's sleeping. Just need few hours and to be in my painting mood to get it done. It just hasn't been happening.

Off the painting topic really nothing has been going on in the garage either. I've just been trying to keep it cleaned up during daily activities. When went on vacation I did pick up more nut/ bolt totes with total of 7 new ones.

This should get me enough to sort everything out better then I had it. Now just got to do it.

After having the Wall of Craftsman set up I've started to move some things around. I can't say that's been fun and really havnt got far at all. Having all the drawers about the same size except the bulk area and one deep drawer has made it a challenge to group things in categories within one tool box. I also have 2 6D chest, lateral file, my big mobile table and welder to find final use. A lot pros and cons to use. Trying to match function and ease of use along with keeping walk ways open and 2 cars in garage is a challenge. I just come out here and stare at things waiting for light bulb to go off in head. LOL.

I did get new tool courtesy of my father-in-law.

It's basically I Rotary cutter like a Roto zip just in a Craftsman version. I never really had much success when my roto zip was working. I've seen people cut drywall with it and other things and they were great at it but for myself didnt work too great. Maybe this time I will do better but one tool that I'm really happy it does have is a router attachment.
77783af720363713041247e47386a2f0.jpg

I can look around my shop and a router is about the only tool I did not have. I don't do wood working ( at least fine wood working) so never thought I needed one plus father has 2 at his house I could use. I small round over bit or flush cutting bit I can see myself using.

Oh well 2 ideas popped in head but the caused bigger issue and deleted one project I'm excited to built. You guys have good night and I'm gonna stare at walls again.

Staring at walls or anything really in the shop is one of my favorite though often unproductive pastimes. Sometimes it works though.

I like those yellow totes. Have you got a label maker ? That will make them look real tidy.

Remember to have a cold one when staring at walls, I might do a bit of that shortly too.

I usually do a lot more staring at the walls after I've had a few cold ones.:lol_hitti

I'll say that although I do have a router, I don't use it very often. But it is nice to have when no other tool will do the job. Maybe if I used it more, I'd find out how handy it actually is.:dunno:

Holy cow! I'm normal, know how many hours I've spent with a beer just staring into the shop? Every once in a while I'll get up to measure something.

I think some kind of a unknown force has directed us here.:lol_hitti:beer:

And here I thought I was the only one who did this and felt bad about being unproductive.
I don't know whether to feel relieved that I'm not alone in the world or, scared that there's lots of us out there. :shocking:

I really like the tilting base on that RotoZip (or whatever brand it is).

The wall of hardware totes is looking good. I agree on getting label maker. beside those totes, you will find 100's of uses for it. Mine is a Brother brand and it works really well. Lots of tape color choices too.

Have fun in there!

Hey man how do you been? I'm glad to see you stopped in. I was going to start looking for your face on a milk carton. LOL. That tool is branded a Craftsman. It has a tilting bays and that base is also a plunge base. I'm thinking it's going to come in handy for something down the road. I have to look into a label maker I know the prices have come down and wait for them. I know my system as flaws especially when my father comes over and has to go through everything to find something. Once again thanks for stopping in.

Small garage problems and me messing with perfection.

I've been thinking about how to fit 2 6D chests into the Wall of Craftsman. If there was no way of doing it another project I would use the chest in at later date.
50b11dbcca0e833ad5b23de6e66f1799.jpg

So if I do the layout which makes my OCD happy that would include removing the DP from the bench. I don't use the DAMN thing to much and always seems to be in the F@CKING way. So I removed the DP, lowered the shelf and made a half hearted attempt at what it could look like.

28edbfa22cfcc69ba76b87c417195376.jpg

46caa9b6af85506e5376d2b1f55f1843.jpgac6e0bdba94f57163d3f5e6bce0951e3.jpg

Note: don't look at the 10D being off. I'm only trying the idea out and if works than I'll adjust 10D up. Ok idea isn't bad but I'm tore between this and other way it was. Other idea is to do this.
f346a837e8bdc7efc7e4bdf6455cf4b9.jpg

2fa212e8cece8ae5044e59d9f3d5e1ce.jpg

This is how much farther the boxes stick out over others.

21d8f205ef09c58d60e1e29ddd0c8fe8.jpg

This idea works ok I guess but not making me happy. So if do plan A of new where the F@CK do I do with the DP. My only place to put it would be here.

b2ff4677a2664d6f3a00d10b6628449f.jpg
I got issues over there already with dealing with the lateral file and welding cart. Oh and to bring that up I'm trying out a new table I got today.
954f00950d9ebcfbf1f2a035f0b178b7.jpg

It's a real nice AV cart. Was thinking of using this as a better welding table idea or at else maybe a small work table since it matches my BIG mobile table.

Getting back to Craftsman wall. I thought of doing a stack again.
b55cf40d6c595828debb7a22436a44ed.jpg

Big issue is I can only do that if I stack a 3D bottom, 6D chest and 10D chest. I can't do it if I use the 5D bottom. So ok can I move the shelves up????? Measure Measure MEASURE. NOPE!!!! F@CK F@CK F@CK.

Moving everything back in the morning. I guess if I never try I wouldn't accomplish anything but just having another small garage blues days. I should have drank more and stared at the walls. That was going so much better LOL

Gerard, do you need room to open the top lids on them ?

If you move the 10d up to match the 6d then you are going to have to different gap levels under each which might look funny.

Is the lateral cabinet strong enough to take the DP and vise on top (maybe add a sheet of ply or something on top) as it does not look like you will have much bench space there now.

If you cut (leaving the centre section) or lose the shelf completely and hang the 6d's the same way as you did the 10d's then they would be the same and you would have probably just enough gap under them still for the chargers. (Then room for another 6d in the middle to complete the look).

Then on the tote wall could you sacrifice a few totes and cut a shelf section out to recess the lateral cabinet into that wall with the DP and vise on it. At least they become portable to move around the garage then too.

That just leaves the welding cart to find a home.

Ok that's my 2 beers worth of thought

Cheers GB.

Oh and I scored something today you will be proud of, I'll go get a pic shortly and update this post.

edit: ...so not made in USA, but as close to craftsman as I'm likely to get.

In all seriousness, I use to be "I'm stuck with what I have". Then I came to GJ and learned people will alter anything if it makes it work better or look better. I think it's time to break out the drill and make all the handles line up.
While the handles are off, paint those boxes!!!!
