Well guys. Here they are. Now let's see what will happen. Don't expect as much from me as I'm no Gerard. they landed here around noon yesterday.

The tee shirt is from Craig. I guess I'm an honorary member of the Florida chapter of the GJ.
Looking good. Next we need to see them in their working location.

So your going to do even less painting on them than G?:lol_hitti:beer:

Dan,Yes you are a honorary member, specially since you have the Made in Florida WOC. It's the same shirt that the Hooters girl took picture with. It rode around in my truck ever since August, so it's been to a handful of estate sales. I checked it and I could still get a whif of her:lol_hitti:beer:.

Enjoy

NO, I think he means he's not gonna put as many miles on the casters as I did. LOL

Yes it is. Those where 5in casters when I put them on. LMFAO.

You wore them down to 2"????? Wow they need a rest. I'll leave them alone for a little while.:D

For you guys that have been part of this thread, I'll give you the first layout of the WOC.

Looks good Dan. Lots of wall space to hang stuff too.
Is that a retaining wall? Looks like poured concrete.

Well guys..... I'm alive.

Well I've been working on things and yes..... moving things around. Few weeks back Craig meet up Shorty and was nice enough to swing by my house and drop off a gift from Shorty.

d39c739eab13817a3145a403e10c768c.jpg

Its a 7D SO box.

842611ca05ff8231a5d93d1c64474c89.jpg

At 20" deep and 29" wide I thought it great size box for my next project. My plan is to make it my new welding cart/ table and replace one I previously working on.

I was trying to layout the garage here really was having a issue. The problem was I wanted to keep the ongoing theme here and also work of new layout of House 2 and it didn't work. Why would I include the 44's on the Work Wall here and work it all in when I'm not going to use it down the road. I ended up braking down the 44's and put them back to this layout.

3f21cc80499996d8f1aecc69463fd8ed.jpg

I also worked on tool layouts for each box.

1. 44 General tools
2. 44 Automotive tools
3. 44 Household tools
4. 44 Stuff
5. SC common stuff.

With 59 drawers to layout and config it's still a work in progress.

Like I said above I put 3 44's along back wall and as much as I didn't want to I parked the 4th 44 back next to my truck.

13d4fe09b947a4c78f418e07fbbf8edf.jpg

Another reason I broke down the 44s on the work wall is that even my small DP didn't fit between top of the 44 and shelf above it.

I took the side cabinet and mounted some 5in swivel casters and parked it next to the others. I put some work top on it of some scrap plywood. The side cabinet hold stuff like utility knives, scissors and cutters, punches and awls, and quick stuff like that. Its a nice small nice work table and seems to be working well so far.
Going forward I got some ideas and plans for the work wall here and it's going to be real fun not to be doing layouts for the garage and just some fun building.

Gerard,

Looks like progress to me. I remember you having issues fitting the drill press before, so now you've solved that issue. Keep up the good work!

Thanks man. I always had issues with a drill press on this wall. I gave away the Ohio forge one once I got the Craftsman and then sold the Craftsman to Shorty. I went from toooo many drill presses to none. LOL. I got this one from my uncle and I had it collecting dust at my dads so brought it back over here. The last time it was here it was on top of my WOC and forgot the HF 44 was much taller. I would like to move it off that 44 and move it over to Work Wall although is really is light enough to pick up and move around when needed.

You sure do have a lot of "stuff" (don't we all!)

Good luck getting it all arrangement. What seemingly should be a fun and satisfying job can sometimes be overwhelming at times. Don't get to permanent with labels yet... I see a lot of juggling in your future!

Looking good so far. I might be envious of the 59 drawers capability you have but not the task of doing all the layout of them. I'm admittedly lazy about determining a proper drawer layout. I'll just follow along here for awhile and see if I can learn some tips and tricks from the master.

There are 3 things I don't forget. Wife's birthday, our Anniversary and where I put my tools. LOL

I label the totes in garage, totes in attic, all the yellow nut and bolt bins but never had to label my toolboxes. Once I figured out the drawer layout I'm usually real good remembering where things are. It was pretty overwhelming when I got rid of the Wall of Craftsman and with more 44s. Somethings I was able to easily move into the 44s certain things didn't work. The Wall of Craftsman had more bulk area on the bottom of the cabinets which the 44s don't so had to find new homes for things. Its just taking me some time to re-do my system I had in place.

I'm certainly no expert in the area of proper toolbox drawer layouts. Here's my old Craftsman stack from years ago.

3b77e2a811591764ed86d6a1025ac387.jpg

Here's generally way I like to lay it out and way I had this one.

Top to bottom.

Top box.
Prybar's
Punches, utility knife, flashlight
Small screwdrivers and pliers
Screwdrivers
Pliers
Big pliers.

Mid top box.
Wrenches

Mid bottom box.
Sockets extensions, ratchets

Bottom roller.
Hammers.
Electrical and measuring.
Air tool drawer.
Cordless, corded drills
Handsaw, hacksaw, extra.

That's the general way I did that box and another things jammed in there where I from room. I tend to still do this layout.

Screwdrivers
Pliers
Wrenches
Sockets
Hammers
Bulk.

Also separate these items into their own drawers.
Air tools
Measuring
Home test (meters, tracers, etc)
Automotive test
Plumbing

This is kind of the layout I've been using for years and seems to work well. The tough part is always finding the right tool box to fit such items sometime you have to move it around in the box because the items don't fit in that particular drawer size.

Wow, big changes happening here! The place is looking great, but I never thought I'd see the WOC go!

Thanks man.

There was a guy on here who built a outstanding garage. The garage was just gorgeous. It had a beautiful new age cabinets, it had race deck flooring, it was a showpiece. Not too long after the guy finished it he decided to sell most of it off and take his garage in a different direction. Most of posters to that thread thought he was crazy including myself. Now going through a similar situation I can totally understand his thought behind it.

Do I miss the wall? YesI do but also opened up opportunities for me to do things I have always wanted to do also. I also get a lot of joy watching Dan having fun being Gerarded by the curse WOC. LOL

Re: The Gerarded Garage.

Not sure yet. I do you like the ring of it but I'm kind of partial to the 5 Stitches Garage name.

I was going back through some of the pre WOC posts this morning looking for some ideas I had recalled since I just "inherited" some new cabinets. Moved to the next page and noticed name change. At least you are not changing names as often as shop layouts.

I'm sorry about the missing pictures in first part of my thread. I used to store them in a album on my profile and one day I was cleaning things up and deleted the album not knowing that album was acting as a host for them.

First thread I started was called "My Shop" then I started a new thread called the "5 Stitches Garage". I asked the mods if I could combine them so first 100 or so post or old thread and then new thread. I think I lost pictures on first 250 post if I remember correctly.

I just changed it as a joke.

So has his shop! :lol_hitti

I found what I was looking for. At least my new to me cabinets were not PINK! There are some oddball sized wall cabinets that I am trying to figure highest and best use for.

Thread name change?!?!? Geez, now I need to keep my eye out for ANOTHER thread title in the Gallery listing. :)

I'm assuming you had to ask a Mod to make the thread name change for you. Years ago, a normal member couldn't do it themselves.
