Nice that your solution could come right from within without having to buy a new cabinet.

Gerard, I'm with Bob. With all the other wheeled storage units it looks out of place just sitting on the floor.

I have plans to get it off the ground. The cabinet is definitely gonna need alittle work to get everything back in shape. It definitely took some abuse over years by me and the PO. It took couple of hours to break the bearing lose that wear rusted.

Now they spin free and drawers roll a lot better.

Well, since I started painting stuff in has gotten cold around here. You never know... it might start snowing.

Well, I know it’s been few months since I really doing things around here. Well what have I been doing? Well about before the AC was replaced I started what I thought was moving in a good direction with the garage. I emptied the attic and put the floor in and then... really nothing. I pulled everything out of the attic and just put back what was definitely going back up there house related but garage related stuff stayed in garage.

I thought it would have been better to deal with it then to just throw it back in attic. You know out of sight out of mind. I can tell you that didn’t work out at all. Then I said if I could get the fastener cabinet done that would help so put everything in a pile and that added more stuff. Then I bought more stuff out of my MIL place to clean up that place. Well since then I been in a garage slump and haven’t done really anything. I had so my ideas, so many things to do I just got overwhelmed. I been here before but felt like I lose my garage mojo. I been in this mode for a few weeks, months, I really don’t know how long but it’s been awhile.

I don’t usually post my garage a total mess but this is the state it’s in now.







I just been able to get wife’s car back in garage.


It’s honestly really been tough for me to get anything accomplished. I couldnt think of how I’m going to finish this place off, what projects going to keep and what materials I was going to need from the piles scattered all over the place. I’m really hoping this cabinet is start of getting back in my grove and get my mind back in the game.

Thanks GB. I tried to keep pathways to get in and to fridge. I guess it’s good thing I moved fridge back to where it was. It would be a obstacle course to get to. I’m not getting any younger or should say I’m not that athletic anymore. LOL.

The torch attachment is for my turbo torch which is a acetylene torch. That attachment is used for heating both sides of copper pipe evenly. My father used it when he silver solder compressors lines when working on refrigerators. It comes in handy working in tight spaces.

Well golly, a two headed torch. What will they think of next. That was a learning moment. Never saw one before but it makes sense for heating all way round the pipe.

Don't worry about the garage slump. We all get them. Right now I'm in the mood to work on my garage but I have many time periods where I do nothing useful out there and just sit on my ****. You'll get your mojo back but until then just do one or two small things per day and count those small improvements.Fixing up that cabinet is a good start back on the path. Meanwhile I'm playing enough garage tetris for the both of us.

We moved to Boca Raton in 1975 and it snowed on January 19, 1977 (it fell as far south as Homestead -- south of Miami). It only collected on overpasses and the tops of cars. When been productive week if considered going in circles a good thing. I think I cleaned and made a mess 3 times this week. I guess time in garage in worth it no matter if just staring.

Last week I had all intentions of working on my garage but went over to MIL place to handle couple of small projects and ended up cleaning up her place. I had to because between my MIL cleaning out house and a master bedroom remodel the garage was pretty messed up so I needed to clean up “ my side”. At end of the day it looked like this.

My cart and the Stack On box. I was able to put all tools in the SO and bigger tools on cart. The radial arm is still there to the right.



I tossed out bunch of stuff and stuff I didn’t ended up where you know where.





The master bedroom was just finished, all new floors installed and kitchen and guest bathroom was done recently. The entire house has been painted and that only leaves the outside painting that needs to be done. That being said I starting removing all the bits that isn’t needed there. It’s a slow process because I don’t want to remove everything. My MIL likes the bench and radial arm there as a memory of her husband. I just brought down the SO and cart that I wasn’t using here to organize things. I probably only have 2 more days in there to totally get things organized. So that garage is pretty much good for awhile while mine to totally messed up.

I been making alittle progress in my place. I started retrying painting the red cabinet. I never had much luck with rustoleum so I thought would give it one more try. This color is a match to my HF44s. I been using a paint can shaker. Yes it’s homemade.



The finish did lay down good.




I just went to take picture and realized I painted it the wrong color. DAMN IT. It’s the krlyon banner red was the better match.



Well I guess I’m repainting those drawers. I knew one of them was close match it’s only when put next to each other see the difference. I really needed to move this after the cold front.



I over came my fear of heights especially on a really wobbly extension latter.



I was using just a rope tied off but using setup I used when had it in back yard.

After that fun decided to keep feet on the ground and kind cleaning up garage. I started fastener cabinet with filling bins and must say I really like this bins.





Long way to go on this cabinet but it’s a start.

I think organizing the shop is more fun sometimes than doing a project. Looking good, don’t feel bad about your fear of heights, I hate ladders and scaffolding, they make my knees weak.

Finally finished a long project. I got all the wiring done but still needed the hitch part done. I went down to Craig’s to help with the crew get his new shed done. Saturday we did shed and Sunday we did the truck.

If remember I had a 1 1/4 hitch on the truck but needed a 2 in for a weight distribution hitch.

So here so pictures of cutting out old and welding in new.











If you saw on Craig’s thread you caught a picture of me painting it but that was just a temporary deal. I wanted to dress some of the welds and give entire hitch a good coat of paint.



I have to say for the situation of this truck coming with a smaller receiver hurdles making it just like a factory tow package truck the hitch looks just like the factory one this truck came with. I have to thank Craig once again because one my welder wasn’t big enough and two I never welded something structural like this. He had welder and skill to do it. Only thing left to do now is a transmission cooler and only thing I won’t be doing on this truck is a limited slip rearend. Well maybe down the road but not now.

I would agree with you. My issue is space so it’s been alittle more planning trying to fit everything. It’s all work in progress especially deal with 2 garages.

It’s my neighbors ladder and it was wobbling side to side so bad it really got to me. Few climbs I got better. Wife wasn’t even home. I figured shes going to come home and find me on the ground.

Its funny you said that.... NONE OF IT!!!

Ok, We all heard of the term “Gerarded”. This is used when you get your garage all cleaned up only to buy or move stuff around. Today, I came up with the term “Shorted”. This term is used when you go out to the garage and work on everything except want you intended to. I thought came out today early and get place cleaned up. I THOUGHT ill start to find the other side of garage. Today I was SHORTED!!!! [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]

The first thing I didn’t need to do when clean the fan. This fan is at least 15 years old with 15 years of junk and rust from being in our warehouse.

So took off cage and blade to clean.





Then I did the unthinkable again. I painted the cage.



It didn’t came out to bad. This fan is work in progress so at later date I’ll paint motor and post.



I found the bench which at moment it being used a lot because can’t use the other side of garage. The last 44 in line being used for vise storage and battery for camper. One of this days I’ll actually mount them. Right now only have one down I can use.





I have battery hooked up to a automatic charger at other end off bench.

Second thing I didn’t need to do today..... After the fan I cleaned up the bench then decided to patch holes in the cement wall, 2x4s, shelves and 44 bench top in prep for painting this wall. WTF..... Shaking my head over here. After that I clean up that I’m putting away some air tools and decide this would be great time to oil up all my air tools. SERIOUSLY!!!

I got a welding table project in the works but when it’s actually going happen I have no clue. I’ve been using the AV cart as my welding cart but I got plans for the AV cart now. I decided to use one of my IKEA cart to hold my welder. I done this before but the casters **** that comes with the cart. So caster swap.



I drilled out the existing hole with a 3/8 drill bit and bolted the casters in. I removed the middle shelf and put my welder and tanks on it. It rolls much better and is more stable now.



Its is a temporary set up until I build the new table. The new table will go on fab wall. Right now I using the space for wood storage.



This wood is for vise plates, tool plates, HF60 top, organizers for stuff and sink area.

Yep, Shorty shorted my shop day too. Went out, changed a bulb in truck, went to get a drink from fridge, seen Shortys left over beer from Sept, grabbed my beer and the day got real short after that.

Well, I thought I got a good start on things today. Started cleaning up garage and wife said could you get the Christmas stuff down today? Well I needed to clean up the attic because just been throwing stuff up there so stopped what I was doing and climbing up into the attic.

Well over the 12 plus years I lived here I had many people work on the cable lines. After the first guy fixed the service I went through and cleaned up all the wires and stapled them up out of way. Fast forward 10 years and multiple techs that have done work it now looks like this.



I’ve had 8 TVs in my house and had them all boosted, just ones with boxes boosted and all not boosted. It was like everyone came in just to get signals where needed to be and left **** hanging. Long story short is now with this area being using for storage I needed to clean this up. I went back to setup the original guy did. After alittle time I got everything cleaned up wires up and out of way.





The 3 wires at the top aren’t being used currently. New spectrum deal is that every tv NOW has to have a converter box. I have 8 lines in house but really only need 5 of them. I have a DVR in living room, master bedroom, patio, my den and of course I need one in the garage.


I also had to go down to my MIL to install 2 boxes at her home. I really wish we had options of other cable company’s. Unfortunately Spectrum in only game in Hernando county.

Looks great. If you have wifi, you may want to consider that they have an app for Roku and Firestick. Would save you the rental fee for TVs that may not be used often, but you still want to have cable.

The way the wires were originally was much more artsy, you could have used it to store fragile Christmas ornaments, now you have gone and made it look almost professional.

Great job on the cable reorg. What really ***** is when your house is wired with cable and cat-5 and central panel and they don’t use it.
Funny how we had dumb cable ready TVs and didn’t need a cable box. Now we have whole house systems and smart TVs but need a $$ set top box $$ for each tv. I’d recommend Oggy suggestion and a digital antenna for the patio tv. I use a digital antenna in the shop and enjoy watching old westerns and other older shows.

I have a Firestick. I have a guest room that currently doesn’t have a box so thinking of putting the box in there so company can use. I currently have the Firestick in living room for watching movies but last night looked into what more it can do. I’m also looking into a wireless mirroring receiver for my den. My plan was to hook my computer to a flat screen to view internet and YouTube. Now probably just use my phone and mirror it to the TV. Also looking into HDMI mirror for other stuff. Be nice to watch my YouTube Subscriptions on the TV in the garage.

Not much been going on over here. It’s that time of year for work. Today planning to spend some time in the garage and show off new find I brought home.



I open the box to find this.



I ended up talking to guy and found out that it’s failed calibration and is not longer usable. It was tossed into scrap pile. Thing is huge compared to my 1/2 and 3/8. It’s a 3/4 and goes up to 600ft lbs of torque.



Not sure what gonna do with it yet. Ill look into it down the road. It could become wall art or one hell of a ratcheting breaker bar. LOL. No more getting out a 3ft pipe.


Ok tv off radio on cranking tunes....
