Well, just as I was complaining about the heat I found something that just might help in that department. It was a roadside find too.

486a54db95ff541d85d929b57a9bbe0c.jpg

It’s a portable ac unit. I tested the other night but ready getting chance to really run it. It’s 91 in garage.

9588e90a5570b22926e9f2140279e97b.jpg

And it’s putting out 68 degrees.

Only issue is I gotta rig up some ducting to outside.

I’m happy happy.

I was thinking that also. When hurricane hits and without power I can use it inside. I remember when AC went out I had to have my father bring over 2 window units for bedroom until new system was installed. What a pain that was to install and fit those. This will be so much easier to use.

Ummm, where have I seen that before. Our portable AC has been a lifesaver the last 3 hurricanes. For use at the shop I cut a piece of 1/4 ply to fit in the door and attached exhaust hose to that. Might be a good idea to fire that up this weekend.

I got a little one out of the side of the road also. I have had it now for 6 years. I use it when the main house one goes out to keep the bed room cold.

Well it’s been awhile since I updated this thread and I’m glad to say there’s been no moving of toolboxes and layout hasn’t changed. I think this has been longest period of time I hadn’t changed anything. Go figure. LOL

I’ve been making progress here and there. I finally got around to cutting all the extra wood I had laying around. I was able to make mounting plates for everything. I also made tops for the mechanics 44 and file cabinet.

2c3958895ab76b156014a72f0848c7a7.jpg

With stuff left over I was able to make 2 pegboard backs for the MBs.

b331f613c6b1266ff02dfcaba33a30b1.jpg

I was able to find and lose the workbench tops over the weeks. Everytime cleaned off off I would just clutter it up. I needed them empty to work on where stuff will go.

b6ca1dcecdf89b4bf6bc6a31fa0d5868.jpg

85c06cb2d123cdb4d6415e0dbf359566.jpg

My plan is both DP, one grinder and belt sander on the one bench. Other will have 2 vises ( BCV and bigger rotator vise). I moved the bigger one over to this bench because I got a smaller HF rotator. I did some horse trading with Shorty for this one.

03505f6c62a35f7a24303490f3b007c8.jpg

631191717e7e3ffd3a6f23f46715f389.jpg

There WAS a big push to get at least wife’s car in the garage. I got that happening on daily basis again because a squirrel decided to eat wife’s wiring harness in here SUV. That’s a long story for another post. So if garage wasn’t a mess enough I decided to screw it up even more.
The outdoor cabinets I had for years where falling apart so ripped them out.

210a934212d55e70962c7704ab1d4190.jpg

9ac4977f7e04009d04ee94ebca8b6f89.jpg

So now just down to attic and garage for storage. I’m ok with that because gives me one less place to hide things and forces me to deal with clutter. The HF cart has been doing what carts seem to do. It’s been collecting clutter and become a dumping ground to keep bench’s clean. Overall things been slow but starting to get moving again.

We been planning some trips lately and using the camper more. We took to Georgia which was awesome. We took trip to Cedar key looking for a place to take camper for the weekend. We didn’t take camper but found a cool place called low key hideaway.

It had this awesome tiki deck out back.

Nothing better than sitting in chairs, drink in hand next to the wife watching some of the best sunsets in Florida.

This weekend took a tool to Palm coast/ Flagler beach to a place called Flagler by the sea. We looked at place down the block called Camptown Beverly beach. Both places you can park RV right on ocean.

This doesn’t have a lot of spots but we really like it. Here’s J Jay and Marilyn park in the spot.

It was too windy to put out awning yesterday. This morning it was so awesome to sit outside with coffee watching the sunrise.

Couple more days and we head back home to west coast.

Does look relaxing. On the garage, can you part your truck inside yet?

Welcome back. You where up in my neck of the woods. I am in Middleburg out side of jacksonville. I love me some cedar keys. The wife is not a big fan. I normally fish with John the owner of the Marina there once or twice a year. Great people. I tried to convince the wife we needed to buy 2 acres down there and build our retirement home. But her being from LA and me from TN we have different ideas on what a retirement home is.

Thanks. I’m sure there was some members up in that neck of the woods. We stay up in Fernandina beach years back and looking for places to take camper. Flagler was nice and we did take ride up to Jacksonville beach. Beautiful homes we saw. Cedar key was nice place and great for fishing. I agree me and wife are on different pages on where to retire too. I like the coast she wants mountains. I’m only 45 so got many years until retirement. I drive for a living so liking somewhere in Florida where I don’t have to worry about mountain roads with snow. Right now MIL is right down the block and taking care of her.

Well I really been looking for a shop cart and more I look around I find that a bottom roller really would make more sense. I saw a craftsman 5D bottom roller at my picking spot. It was not bad price but I walked out without it considering I just spent $225 across the street.

6c4b777e29318b9942900bfa80583c4b.jpg

I went to MIL and looked at my 24x36 cart and the Stack On bottom roller I have there. Cart is too short and bottom roller currently being used to hold my FIL tools. So it’s back to doing something with the HF cart.

Today I just wanted to clean garage up but the wife left me unsupervised which isn’t a good thing. I first decided to clean out the cart.

c10533044861aa0c082cf9aafbb95bc8.jpg

I decided to straight out the bottom section of the cart. I’m pretty sure my neighbors hate me now after banging the bottom back into something that’s relatively straight. I made a insert of OSB I had and added some 5in casters. I will get some new ones but these will work for now.

819b9d5ac103c51c28f87b08dd7f688e.jpg

Then it was to deal with the height issue. My 44’s with

My MB’s are 34 3/4.
My 44’s are 40 3/8.
If added top the cart would be 40 3/4.

I looked up some of the smaller carts and those are 37 to 40 tall. So I thought, stared, sat down, stared, measured and finally said I’m getting out the bandsaw.

39691e62c1de31627975176cbd1f4961.jpg

I ended up cutting 6” off the bottom of the legs. Once I add a top it should match up height wise with the MB’s.

242e45ce96f85ee58eb071f516806a4d.jpg

590a1f9987644314c71b80258eacd540.jpg

Cutting that much out of the bottom makes that bottom pretty useless. I seen a bottom slide out on the HF cart modification thread I might go with or some sort of big drawer. I’ll figured that out down the road.

Lessons on organizing are given weekly.

A short cart? Is that like a short bus? Lol

You could store rags or an extension cord on bottom. You could also cut away the front of that shelf for better access.

It’s a short cart for vertically challenged people under 6ft tall. LOL. Actually I seen a guy on the HF cart modification thread that made a slide out for a toolbox in bottom area.

a39a5735f92893e8ed5cdded96745848.jpg

I like the idea and was thinking of a really deep drawer before I cut the legs. It’s just not going to be so deep now.

My community annual yard sale was last weekend and seems like yard sale season in full swing down here. It’s good time to get out and meet the neighbors. There was 2 sales just north of me so plan was to hit those and run back to ours. My father tagged along.

First sale not much was left since it was a estate sale and was open on Friday. I did get a hammer drill.

5076e1c9653021c3b44248e3eba3f31c.jpg

Second sale was better. I got set of jack stands. 3ton professional craftsman’s. I started digging picking out some of the goodies and see something interesting. Lady walks over and said I’ll sell you entire box. Hmmmm how much? I’m like hmmmm okay I’ll do that. So here’s what I got.

b819f27c25e8ebd400d9f3e611c330b2.jpgae2d7529b7e836d229120f631212f878.jpg

And this is what caught my eye at bottom.

I just happen to have a patio project in where I need to cut some patio pavers so this will come in handy. So at end of the day I ended up paying $69 for everything. Not to bad day.

Oh, the last post I forgot to mention something. LOL. The “box” I ended up buying is alittle more than just a box. It so happens to be one of these.

Yes ladies and gentlemen that’s correct. This is a 1971 Craftsman stack. It’s in good condition with the 10D being a 9/71 and bottom being a 8/71.

It’s has all the original paperwork but unfortunately only top chest keys.

I guess this means I’m back into vintage Craftsman club.

WOC version 2.0

That was a great score, amazing it didn't get attracted to WOC version 1.0 being that close to you.

Thanks, I don’t know if there’s going to be a WOC 2.0. It might be over someone’s dead body if that happens and you’ll can guess whose that would be. The sale I got it at wasn’t in the community I live and about 20 minutes north of me. The house seemed fairly new so probably built after I sold the WOC.

After this weekend it was time to make some decisions of what’s staying and going. First things to go was the HF cart and tallish gray cabinet. My first thought was to wheel them down to end of driveway but father decided to take them. He could use them them or give them away. I’m definitely going to rethink some of the useage for what I got because still find myself needing help in few areas. Will see what happens in future.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and courage to brave Black Friday if choosing to hit the crowds.
