I hope you can get it on the road soon. I sure would love to have that amount of shop space. Thanks for posting.

im trying, but only manage to get about one day a week to work on it at the moment.
There‘s only one other running/driving 914 in town that I know of.
It’s my friends white 74, the I helped convert to megasquirt efi last year.

I feel blessed every time I get a chance to work in my shop. It took me 20 years of dreaming, planning, and saving. I still want to add more insulationboards to the roof & walls, and sheet the whole thing in plywood,,,,,then add a loft area eventually.

As a long hood 911 person 914's are an absolute blast to drive. I am in the process of finding a 914/4 race car to go back vintage racing.

I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since I’ve updated this thread.
a lot of “life stuff “ has been happening which kind of takes up all my time.

I did manage to finally get my loft area started. It is 31 feet wide x 14 deep.
used double 16” lvl beams , supported by 6x6 posts, and 2x12s on 16” center.

This is where it ended for the week end. I have a lot more planned for this area in the future. going to add more insulation in the roof, foam boards,,,,,wiring, lighting, a couple of walls etc.
eventually, the upper level will be split into a storage area and a hangout spot.

just checking in to say hi all. Being self employed and life stuff takes up most of my time, so not much progress "on" my shop since the initial build of the loft. "In" the shop I have managed to do a little more work on my 914 subie 6cly resto mod project, and finally (after owning it for 18 years) started on my 1970 cutlass resto-mod.

On the Olds project, decided to box the frame with a Hellwig FX kit, as it closely resembles the factory convertible frames but adds a body mount to help tighten things up.

on the 914 project, I finally finished all the structural rust repair, then added steel flares. Next up is flaring the rocker panels and smoothing out the welds on the flares.
