I'm far enough along I figured I'd share my garage build with you guys. I'm doing this backwards since I already have a 40x60x14 shop with living quarters I've been living in for 6 years, but after getting married last May we (the wife) decided to build a house. We spend a lot of time at the lake on weekends and I'm pretty cheap so it's nothing too special. 1611sq ft with just under 1000sq ft garage. The plan for the garage is 9ft doors in front and 7 foot door in the back corner. Fully insulated/drywalled. Mini Split system for heat and AC.
Once finished the wifes car, boat, and one golf cart will be stored in the garage all the time which will leave my truck, skid loader, and whatever else I'm working on in the shop. Bedroom will also get knocked out of the shop living quarters giving me a 60ft deep bay for a future bigger boat :bounce:
Feel free to leave questions, suggestions, ect!

The bedroom is behind where the bar is mounted so it will be getting moved to another wall.

I also have a 43x48 3 sided shed to park trailers and stuff under to keep it out of the weather. I'm a little OCD and cant stand stuff sitting outside unprotected.

I really like how you built a shop with living quarters, and later began building a separate home on the same property when the time was right. Also, that house/attached garage plan is the perfect combination of size and layout. I showed it to my wife, and we both agree that we wouldn't change a thing.

Thanks, The house is the same basic floor plan that my dad has built 3 times now for his own house so I know it will work great for us.
We also decided to keep the bedroom in the shop and convert it to an office since I start a new job Monday and will need an office at home.
