After you have done what you can with whatever soap you use, then rub in a good sized glob of cheap hand lotion in.
As you rub you will see it turn grey from the dirt it is pulling from your pores.
Wash it off and go to the wedding looking clean and spify.

i have used liquid dish sopa with some salt to act as an abrasive. but my usual is cream hand soap,use the carquest brand now.

I was introduced to Mean Green hand cleaner at the dealership I worked at years ago and fell in love with it. You only use a little of it each time, unlike GOJO or orange hand-cleaners and it works well WITH water and really cleans your hands and does not make them dry up if you use it a lot. Trust me this stuff is AMAZING.
And I'm not a salesman for them I just use it.

I have always found either Swarfega , also known as Tufanega to be the very best hand scrub, works everytime, you will find this in nearly every mechanics garge in England,
also, here is an old school tip from, trainning back in the day, washing up liquid and sugar, yep it works,
