Some may get the 90's video game doom reference.

Felt like doing a project that was just for fun I am surprised how powerful the gun is at 125 psi.

I used a sprinkler valve to control the air triggering, a Ryobi 18 volt battery is wired to the trigger and another up the stock in series that has to be held for the trigger to activate.

The barrel is 1" 6063 aluminum tube, the air tank is 2" steel pipe the stock is hickory I have not put it on a scale but it is around 15 lbs or more.

I test fired it with a 2" half inch bolt with a nut threaded on wrapped with electrical tape for a tight seal, It is louder than I expected and has a noticeable recoil. 1" super balls fit nice too.

The cans pictured were at 60' distance.

The garden goundhogs are in for a surprise

That takes the Potato Gun to a whole new level! Nice

Years ago I made one that fired corn cobs same barrel but it had a manual ball valve and only a length of one inch pipe for the compressed air tank. It would send a corn cob a few hundred feet. When we get into corn season I will test it out, should be a big improvement on range.

Nice! I've spent a while tinkering with one myself as a side project recently and had quite a bit of fun with it. I tested a few different valves, barrels, and tanks. The key attributes seem to be on barrel length, efficiency of airflow into the barrel, sealing of the projectile, making sure the tank is large enough, and knowing what projectiles are well adapted to it in the first place. I used a piece of clotch as wadding in mine to shoot 1" rebar and hot dogs, both do a surprising amount of damage at short range.

Do you want to post a video of yours in action? If anyone cares I did put together a video of mine at some of it's finest moments. I got way too excited seeing some of what it did :ROFLMAO:. You can find mine here:
