What kind of 360 is that? Chrysler, I assume? I'm a Dodge 5.2/5.9 Magnum kinda guy (in my spare time, when I have to) and the oil pump location on your 360 is making me scratch my head. Where is your oil pump?

Just a few little updates...

The wag engine is almost back together, its actually even further along than this picture.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I found some all red(1602) tails in my spare parts bin so I started cleaning them up.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I had some issues with the drivers side brake light on the 02 so I ordered some tail light assemblies on ebay. The chrome was in better shape so I used them, I cant wait to get these on the car.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I have a box full of parts to put on the 02, but this is in the way.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

While the M was on the lift at a friends shop, I notice the guibo was bad. That turned into; dropping the exhaust, rebuilding the shift linkage, new guibo, oil change, new fog lights, etc etc.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I ordered the parts from ESC last Thurday and they are supposed to be in this Thursday because they shipped them FedEx Smart Post. FedEx Smart Post, all the cost of shipping FedEx with all of the "oops we lost your order" of USPS. Anyway since I didnt have the parts I took the 02 out for a Sunday cruise. More updates soon.

just read through whole thread. really love the old bmw stuff, i have a 83 320i i swapped a toyota blacktop beams motor in and just recently bought a 02 mini cooper i had to put a new transmission in. I also fly a powered paraglider and super jealous of your planes and everything. Wish i lived closer, would be nice to know more people into same things. Small world my grandpa had a j10 they bought new in 1976 and it was used as a farm truck its whole life, was converted to propane sometime in the 80's before i was born. It was a sweet old truck i learned to drive stick in.

I gotta ask, when you take your nice pictures (tail of dragon pics, etc.) what kind of camera do you use? they came out really nice

keep up the good work.

I got a little work done tonight.

Replaced the hoses and fittings from the brake res to the master.

Got one of the red tails installed, I need to find some red bulbs for the brakes.

And cleaned the bay a little, while enjoying a beverage.

Its almost ready for the engine install.

Oh, the reason the 77 is now the "Big Wag" is because there is a "Mini Wag" on the way.

No, the "Big Wag" isn't expecting there is another jeep on the way.....

Well I built and sold another TV bar this week.

baa7e3876c234a8d0e2b1b7d0cdec7fd.jpg

I also picked up a little mid century modern chair. I'm going to try to refinish it.

No turning back now. I really hope that I don't mess it up.

I also took the gf to a huge antique sale in Atlanta and came across some more "art" for the shop wall.

The bikers and car guys should know why I like the sign so much. It looks great on the wall.

Always like your posts/garage and look forward to them. Love the M and the 02's.
I'd like to know more about that giant BMW sign there to the right. As a guy with 2 M3's and an X5 I'd sure like that in my shop!

Last night over Easter dinner, my dad and I started discussing our need for extra garage space since we are now up to seven project/fun cars between us(thats not counting daily drivers.) We got the idea of adding on a two car garage attached to my house, which with the use of car dollys would allow for access to my current basement. Since living quarters on my house are on the second floor at the rear, this would be a good platform for adding more living space, also remodeling the current bath and making more room for the kitchen. This would also allow me to move the washer and dryer to the master, and finish part of the basement making room for a pool table and mancave. The red lines indicate were the addition would be in relation to my house.

GARAGE. by mpower5266, on Flickr

You would be looking at the garage doors from this view after the addition.
15930159496_66e66936b9_b.jpg

Current floor plan, these are all rough not to scale drawings.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Option one, have the hallway to the master use the door for the guest room and make up the space lost in the guest room by bumping out the wall. This would give me a deeper garage but could come too close to the property line.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Option two would extend the garages the other way and eat up some of the driveway pad, but could easily work.

image1(1) by mpower5266, on Flickr

And a quick and dirty drawing of how the basement would change.

image1(2) by mpower5266, on Flickr

Both plans would also have a concrete slab poured to the side of the garage allowing for a carport/lean-to roof to cover a lift. I am obviously in the preliminary stages of this and would love some input. Right now I'm still weighing the costs verses buying a different house and building a detached garage.

So I put my girlfriends degree in architecture to work.

0dad0cab988704bce6f7b7afd1adeff1.jpg

So now I have a decent plan to scale.

Those with a keen eye will notice that the master closet is as big as a bedroom. It was my gf's idea but.............I get a 20'x24' garage, a 8'x11' area between the garage and current basement and then about 1000 sq feet of basement, so I think it's a fair deal.

Love the layout she's come up with. Big closets are great....keeps clutter out of the main living areas and keeps the lady happy. My GF uses the guest bedroom at my house like it's her walk-in closet. Any ideas or drawings for layout of the garage/workshop area yet?

Im very happy with the layout, shes insanely talented. Im also very lucky that she tolerates cars(I think she actually likes them as I'm not allowed to sell the 02.) I am hoping to get the basement/garage lay out drawn up this week sometime. This all may be a pipe dream, I need to talk to some realtor friends to make sure Im not over building for the neighborhood.

This week has been pretty productive. I met with a couple of friends that are in the real estate business and they both said that my proposed addition is a "no brainer" so we are going to try to get the plans finalized this week and get them to an architect friend to put them in cad. While very exciting, Im getting a little nervous as its going to be the most expensive thing I have ever done.

Anyway, on to the fun stuff. I finally got the 02's choke working and properly tuned the carb. Its now Hof approved.

33501713124_be3457c630_b.jpg

Then I tackled my brake fluid leak. I narrowed it down to the hose going from the brake res to the clutch master. I knew it was going to be messy so I devised a series of gutters to lead the brake fluid to a cup I had waiting........ Yeah that didnt happen, as soon as I pulled the hose the gutters failed and I ended up with DOT 4 all over me. Oh well its fixed.

33539138234_3fcb069207_b.jpgUntitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I also picked up some sealed beam conversion headlights for it but I didnt get them on, because I went and got a new tv.....

33996438810_724c8f97b8_b.jpgUntitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I have to actually build a different tv first so I will log that build.

Finally I spent yesterday afternoon visiting a family friend's 90x92 shop, there was some nice stuff in there.

The plan for now is to get it up running and driving and then address the other issues. The rear flares are toast, so Im going to be looking for a j10 that I can cut the flares off. Now to decided which garage it ends up in.

Small update. So my mom got a new car, and I washed it for her.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I wasnt happy with the amount of foam and even less happy about the 25 hose that came with my pressure washer. So I picked up a 50 foot hose, a new gun, a different soap and some quick releases.. Much better.

Other than that, nothing major is happening. We are picking up the chief up this weekend and a friend of mine is putting the addition plans into CAD for me.... Stay tuned for big changes.

So instead of actually working I decided to read your thread today, got to say awesome stuff mate and great attitude on life.

Found my way over here after you commented on the garage queens thread and thanks for the don't google forward control Jeeps tip ... I didn't listen and now I want one of those too :lol_hitti

It's cool to see you and your dad working together on projects my son's only 9 months old and I'm already lining up his first set of overall's.

Have you seen the BMW classic website? they still retail some of their old stock parts through there might help you with some rare bits on your 2002.

Small update.... I drove the 02 in the rain. On Sunday I convinced my awesome girlfriend to get up at 4:45 and drive to a car show in the rain. It was a blast, but I have a lot of work to do on the 02 since it rains as much in the car as it did outside of car.

IMG_4487 by mpower5266, on Flickr

I was also looking at some other forums and found a thread where a guy changed the license plate placement on his 02. The factory set up always bothered me because the plate rubbed the trim.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I got the Mercedes Benz part......

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Much better......

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I also got the first draft of my plans back from my architect friend. :rocker:

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

The part Im most excited about.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I still need to make some changes, but it might actually happen. :eyecrazy::eyecrazy:

Clever use of the MB plate mount. Reading the #, it's the same one as on my 1987 560SL...until I took it off. [no front plate required in KS ] Lookin' GOOD. :)

I wish I could take credit for it, but I stole it from a guy on another forum.

Second rule of GG [similar to Fight Club] NEVER give yourself away. Turning it upside down made it work for you. BTW, mounting that thing on the bumpers of an R107 MB is a true PITA.
