Everything looks good to me. As for noise, I haven't really looked into anything but we are usually on the same schedule and I can't think of a time she would be in bed and I would be working. Another added bonus of not sound deadening is that she could hear me screaming if something bad happened. Hahaha.

I finally got in the upstairs. It's looking good.

Entering the master from the deck.

The closet, which is big enough to be a room if it had a closet.

The bath.

The hallway and former exterior wall and laundry room to the left. There is also a small closet to the right.

Wow. That is a fantastic add'n to the current house.

I would make sure you insulate the EFF out of the area between garage and the master: Roxul sound deadening is a good start.

Good catch by your lady BTW.

Nothing much to report today. They did get the hallway finished between the old part of the house and the new.

As if I didn't have enough going on with the house and the wedding, I started an interior restoration on my m3. The seats were looking a little rough.

604461ce6fcb4f0b44d6fe8953f8dc24.jpg

And my door cards were mismatched.

a9b49bcb05175d2b0116889a93801425.jpg

So I found some seats in good shape but needing so dye work. Remember the Subaru brat?

dda5ac03695d5778dd1de39f7fac1af4.jpg

Ordered a dye kit, and headliner meterial. Everything came in so I stripped the seats.

It's going to be a slow project but here's the plan; pull all the seats, door cards, and headliner out of the car. Then I will disassemble all 4 front seats and from all the parts make two good seats and dye the leather (the backs and bottoms are interchangeable between passenger and driver.) Color change the door cards to match and redo the headliner. I'm hoping to have it all done in the next few months and ready for show season next year.

I instantly thought of the Subaru Brat when I saw your picture. One of our neighbors had one when I was a kid. Just remember thinking how cool it would be to ride in the back. Most likely more scary than cool in reality though.

Where did you source the dye? What brand, and supplier? I re dyed some seats in a Cadillac Deville the fronts came out good, but the rear would slightly flake. I prepped the seats per directions and used the adhesion promoter. Nice progress on your home! Congratulations on your engagement!

I got the dye from this place,

https://www.leatherworldtech.com/

I have seen several threads where people have done these exact seats with the dye and they have had good results. Im hoping I have the same luck.

Are you planning on leaving the garage door between the current bimmer basement and the new garage? I have my parking garage separated from my shop (they are in tandem) and I love having them separated. It let's me keep my messy projects separated from our normal daily usage.

For code there is going to be a wall and an exterior man door. I'm going to change that but I'm not 100% sure how I'm doing it yet.

Great thread and nice work on the Vader seats. Also love the 2002. I had a roundie for a while, probably should have held on to it!

I am going to eventually make part of the basement a finished lounge game room area I think, when I do that Ill do the proper fire break and dry wall work. No updates as of now, I think the contractor is waiting for the bank inspector to come and give him the next draw.

No real update today but there was an inspector at the house yesterday so I am hoping they will pick it all back up Monday.

Not a progress pic but we did get some snow down here this weekend.

Excellent. Save ALL those photos for future reference and to maybe put together a nice coffee table book so visitors can see the before, after and the transformation in between ;)

I may come up with something like that. We also have a gopro set up taking time lapse video of the build, its already pretty cool to watch and the final video should be great.

It will all be boxed in anyway so Im not concerned. If it was going to be visible I would want something that looked cooler for sure.

Not much progress today but they got my water hook ups roughed in today. Hot and cold of course.

And I started on the seats, here goes nothing.

Im a little surprised to see PVC supply lines. When I bought my first house in '01 I couldnt get insurance because of the PVC plumbing. Had to rip it all out. Glad I did. It was very brittle. I just redid the galvy in my current house. Not sure which ages worse. At least the PVC is easy to get out.
