Your addition is looking good. I like the flooring sample. I'm looking forward to watching it all come together.

I'm excited to see the garage floor all done with those colors. Will look really sharp!

Also - really jealous that you can see grass where you're at. In Iowa we've got snow every week the last few weeks and then yesterday we had freezing rain that has now covered our roads in about .25" of ice. Glad to see where you're at they're still able to make progress - and from the pics it looks like they're doing good work.

Alright, I sent the wife over today to get some non-potato pics. I am loving the colors that she picked out.

All the new doors, painted to match the existing.

Its been a frustrating few weeks on the project. The brick layers left my back yard and driveway a total mess. Which I know they will clean up, its still really annoying, and it has kept the concrete guys from doing the last pour. We have also had a ton of rain and that caused some major issues with the dumpster swap they performed last week.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Those are about 3 foot deep ruts from their truck getting stuck....

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I talked to my project manager, and they are taking care of it. They are going to put a french drain at the front elevation anyway so they will have the landscapers fill the ruts and reseed the lawn. The one ray of hope is the new project manager, he finished another one of their builds and moved over to mine. Hes a former Marine and has been whipping everyone into shape.

Speaking of, the painters have been taking their time. Last week they didnt work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. They took a half day on Tuesday and Wed they almost worked 3/4 of a day. The tile guys were supposed to be in last week but cant come in until the painters are done so I talked to the project manager and they have been working ever since, including Saturday and Sunday. Cabinets should be delivered today and can be installed despite the painters.

Its been pretty frustrating since we were supposed to be back in the house by now but I figured they would go over. The only think keeping me calm, is knowing I will soon be able to sit on my deck and watch tv with a cold beer. Just waiting on the railings now but that's a completed deck floor.

Sorry I know this isnt a huge update, I just needed to vent a little.

Vent away man. Sounds like they're back on it, but frustrating that they're over their estimated already.

Did the new PM give you an estimate on how much longer it'll be? Whatever that new estimate is, at least you're in the home stretch!

The concrete guys came by yesterday and thankfully my wife was home. Despite several conversations, they started to lay the form out wrong.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I was supposed to extend almost to the end of the house and be about 12' wide. I left a couple feet at the corner of the house in case I wanted to do a lean-to car port. Anyway, she corrected the mix up, but the driveway is such a mess that the truck couldn't get in to pour. They used the bucket on the bobcat, which I guess is okay. The mess that is driving me nuts.

And the final concrete pour(I hope.)

Great progress lots of turning space up front too..

the side of the garage entrance has lots of potential for later where you can easily add a sheet roof at a later stage... but any reason why didn't the concrete guys pour to the end of the wall?

That was just all the sq footage of concrete we had left in the budget and I didn’t think the extra couple feet were worth it.

They have started to make a little progress inside. Our tile for the laundry room, a bit funky but the wife knows what she’s doing.

Floor tile for both bathrooms.

Finished the posts for the deck.

Put up some board for the tile....

And put some tile up it will go all the way to the ceiling.

Then some boxes showed up late yesterday.

Now I left this morning at 5am for a car show and when I got home at 5:30 I was surprised to see workers at the house, it appears they unpacked some boxes.

Progress! Don't loose sight of the cold beer on the deck waiting for you when it's all done.
Any interesting cars stand out at the show?

Not really, it was a tuner show so not my scene but a bunch of friends were going.

There were workers at the house Sunday, so I decided to walk over and check out the progress. The cabinet guy was there finishing up the trim on work, since its an old house the floor and ceiling arent square so we couldnt use the crown molding the cabinets came with. I think this looks better anyway.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I also found out through the cabinet guy that the project manager quit, so we scheduled a meeting with him for monday(yesterday.) I spent some time on the deck....

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

New door from the master to deck. There will be a matching one going from the kitchen to the deck.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

My wife met with the new project manager yesterday and she said it seems like hes really cracking the whip to get everything done. The tile guys knocked out all the floors yesterday.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Tiled the shower to the ceiling.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Laundry room floor. We had a cabinet that was supposed to go in the laundry room but it was ordered wrong and almost double the size we need. They are getting a new one ordered and I think I get to keep the wrong one for the shop.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

And got the floor in the existing bathroom.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

And bead board up.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

When I left for work this morning there were already 4 trucks in the driveway so it looks like the new guy has them working.

Love that tile work. ;)

nice work , tiles look fantastic..

The tile guy is awesome. The best sub on this job for sure. He finished up the guest bath yesterday and is gone until the counter tops are in.

On a non-house related note, my dad and I have gotten the Chief running. it sounds much better in real life.

And the wagoneer, it should hopefully be on the road in a month or so.

Time for Sun & Fun!!

Ready to get it over with. My next day off work is April 22nd.

Anyway, the tile guy came by today and did the niche in the master shower. I also ordered the garage door.

They installed hardwood with baseboard down already? I guess it doesn’t matter since you are probably doing quarter round.
