What a thread. I have been unproductive for pretty much more than half a day after finding this thread today and going through all 45 pages of it. The addition looks amazing and really love all the auto projects. Keep your eye on the beer on the porch at the end of the line.

We have some deck progress. Im guessing it will be done by the end of the day today.

We also got the bad news that my existing heat pump died, so that's about 4 grand we werent expecting to spend. Not sure what we are doing about that, I am hoping the builder will pony up some because I think it died from running 24/7 while there was a hole in my house over the winter..... Oh well, I can already taste that beer on the deck.

They finished up the deck last night.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I have a little more privacy for my outdoor bathroom......

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

And they painted the garage ceiling, I cant wait to get the rest painted and floors done. I miss having a place for my cars.

I am leaving today for 11 days so I think the updates will be a little slower but my wife will be home to take pics. It looks like we are just a couple weeks away from moving back in.

The deck looks fantastic! Are those wood balusters? I'm getting ready to build a deck rail and that looks like what I'm after.

They are metal, I think you can get them from home depot or lowes. They arent what I wanted. I wanted to do a horizon railing but it wouldnt pass code. Thankfully this set looks really good so Im not complaining.

Almost bought a 2002 today, thankfully someone else beat me to it.
It's all your fault....Hope things are going well down in Florida.

Was it local and if so what color?

I survived my trade show and more importantly, so did my liver. A lot happened while I was gone, and today I did a walk through. We got some great news today but let me get caught up.

All the lights have been installed.

Last but not least, I got some really good news from the third guy to come and check out my heat pump. It was a simple part and only ran me about $180. I celebrated not only seeing my wife for the first time in 11 days but also the hvac working with a beer on the new deck. Its getting close!!!

Nice transformation!

Looks like it came quite a long way from the wood panel before pics.

From the angle of that picture with the beer i'd say you were using the porch throne!

Hope you remembered to bring the TP.

Great progress. It's always fun when the finish steps (plumbing, electrical, appliance) are going in. It's also the signal of less mess/dust:).

My first thought with the basement threshold was catching my foot and tumbling down the stairs. Hopefully not the case.

That was my first thought as well, I may remove it but we will see what it looks like.

Got the drawers finished for the master bath vanity, I’m glad my FIL was able to keep this cool little feature.

Ok, so I have a few small updates. They started putting up toilet paper holders, towel bars, etc etc. It failed the inspection today, they didn’t have the fridge or stove installed. I’m no expert but I could have told them that. They got the cabinet installed in the laundry room though, still a little trim work left.

IMG_1597.jpg

We have movers scheduled for next Monday and the builder thinks he can take care of my punch list by then.

Oh yeah..................... I ordered my garage floor epoxy from Armorpoxy tonight.

Well there is a flurry of action happening at the house today, so I will probably update a few times today. Non-house related, I modified the orifice in my foam gun and its producing awesome suds.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr\

Here is is on my Jeep, you cant even tell what color it is.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

After washing the cars last night, I went over to the house to assemble my bench for the new shop. The new part of the garage is going to mainly be for detailing and light mechanical work, so I wanted something clean rather than something heavy duty. I put this stainless food prep table on the wedding registry and one of my best friends got it for me. I think this will be a perfect table for what I have planned.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

On to today, my wife at the house basically at the builders request acting as foreman. They are finishing appliance installs, buttoning up some smaller projects, and knocking out our punch list in expectation of the final inspection tomorrow. First thing on todays list is installing the oven, and like everything else its putting up a fight. Its in.... it works.... it looks awesome!!!!!

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

And the adjacent drawer almost opens halfway.........

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

We basically need about 1/2'" more to get it pushed all the way in so the electrician is on the way to move the plug lower on the wall as the stove manufacturer suggests. I am hoping this will be an easy fix. I will add more photos later today I am sure.

Too bad Snap-On does not do gift registries. :)

Im in my mid 30's and she is in her late 20's, so we both have a lot of stuff. Most of our registry was Lowes/amazon gift cards, lighting fixtures, and faucets. It was great.

So updates.....

Fridge is in place, and almost fully put together. It should be done today.

41714627951_88cf7238aa_b.jpgUntitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I wanted to keep some of the original features of the house so in the guest bath I had the cast iron tub re glazed. Im really happy I did this, it looks so much better than a fiberglass insert.

27846062468_c7be543358_b.jpgUntitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Got the new sink in the guest bath as well....its probably a little big for the space but this bath will rarely be used.

40997825574_169c9cfb5c_b.jpgUntitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

This also showed up the other day, and the mrs was eager to get it on the wall. It was her splurge on the house build. Its apparently artisanal and sustainable and helps buy shoes for kids in Kentucky..... none of that really matters, she saw it on pinterest and fell in love. It actually looks pretty cool.

27846062128_ed7bb43c60_b.jpgUntitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Oh..... the stove.

39907465530_be901fe7c7_b.jpgUntitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

They cut the back of counter top out and boom, like a glove.

39907465590_c0989c29b0_b.jpgUntitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Im sure Ill post more today, and it should pass inspection and I should have the CO after that.

To be fair, the contractors have done most of the work up to now. But soon it will be our turn, I already spent 3 hours in the basement cleaning and sweeping last night and I hardly made a dent.

A few updates from the weekend.. My hot and cold water and hooked up and working.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Fedex dropped off some boxes, Im really excited about this.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Moved my egg.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Set up my storage table, I will get some better pics in the daylight. It has some decent storage below, and a stainless steel top for prep.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

And moved some furniture in.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

We moved a lot more in but Ill post them this afternoon after the movers get more furniture in.

The in-laws also gave my pup a little house warming gift, I think he likes it.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I also finished the time lapse video, it was a lot of work to stay on top of it and get the camera out every morning and the video card dumped every night but it was worth it. I am really happy I did this. I may go back and do a "directors cut" with some more edits and music but I hope you all enjoy it.

I just did the same with my foam cannon. Went with a 1.1mm orifice for my PF22, which came with a 1.25mm orifice. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but this gets me excited!!

PS, house is coming along great!!

I couldn't find the construction part of the video at first at it started at the 5 min mark. Once I realized it was just deck work, I scrolled it back to the beginning to see the garage go up. Great work. Nice diligence keeping that up the entire project. Looks great.

You will love the extra foam.

We spent the first night in the house last night, what better way to celebrate than some solo cup champagne.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

I also put together our new Ikea table and chairs, I am loving my little outdoor kitchen.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

This table is going to very handy, not only for prepping but storage. My wife is going to love my bbq gear stored outside of the kitchen.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

While I was assembling and moving furniture my wife started unpacking and decorating. I keep waiting for someone to show up and kick us out of the house, its way nicer than I deserve.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Ended the night with my first real beer on the deck, a years worth of planning has finally come to fruition.

Untitled by mpower5266, on Flickr

Im sure I will have more pics soon as everything gets unpacked and set up. I promise there will be some garage progress soon.

Splendid. All that work and $$ came together for a spectacular result. That double-sink vanity is a real showpiece. Meanwhile, back in the garage.....:)

I know I know, I have to get the house settled before I can spend time in the garage. I hope to get some paint on the garage walls this Sunday. :rocker:

Looks sharp. And cool that your deck allows you views of the garage :) Enjoy your well earned beer. I have that koozie also.
