Glad I found this site--finally beginning to upgrade the garage after spending the last 4 years restoring our brick bungalow. (Still not done of course, but time to switch gears and spend some time on what I really enjoy. Here's a few photos of my garage as it looks today. Just bought the propane heater today off of craigslist for $80. I'll be updating this thread as I go...

Welcome to the forum. I wish I were smart enough to work on BMW's. We had an L7 a few years ago and the fit and finish were top notch, I just wasn't smart enough to troubleshoot the blamed thing. They rank in my top 3 favorite vehicle Manufacturers. Any more pics of the E30's? Feel free to post them here, I won't complain.

I always liked these Bimmers as well - the equivalent of an upscale Datsun 510. 
Rated 200k btu's, using a 30 lb propane tank right now. Has an igniter like a gas grill and has no problem heating my 24 x 24 garage. Even with the open rafters to the roof.
Hmm...and what about fumes or moisture issues? Do you have to leave a door or window cracked?

No fumes issues at all--that's why I switched from kerosene bazooka. Since my garage has open rafters to a vented roof it's not a problem, but my buddy has pretty much the same setup I do and his garage is fully insulated with just a vent in the ceiling and has no problems.
I did notice I got some slight fogging of the car windows, but have only run this yesterday for the first time. Ran it to warm garage to 58, then turned it down to less than 1/4 capacity, then shut it off until needed.
If you get a chance, once you have some more experience with this, can you post about it in the heating section of this site? Maybe PM me to let me know you are doing it? I need some heat so I can work on projects in my garage this winter.
Will do. I plan on putting up the plastic ceiling this weekend also, so that will help.

That tank won't last long. I use one of those, and it will flat out run you out of a building with heat. But it loves the propane!
Not quite as ****, but it keeps my wife and kids safe at 5450lbs and moves out like a stock E30.. ;-)

Like the updated cluster in the iS - garage looks great too. What engine was on the stand there in one of the shots?
Here's a shot of my bone stock '85 eta -I'm the 3rd owner and bought it from the original owners niece. Have got some stuff in the garage for some upgrades...would love a set of Euro Bumpes and valence...we'll see if the funds exist for that!

I used to own a 1987, E30 2 door. It was black, color code (schwartz), had BBS alloys and a 2.7 L eta engine. Best car I ever had, regret selling it. It had such a perfect balance between sport and comfort, and the E30 design is definitely long lasting (my opinion)
