First, thank you GJ and it's patrons for all their knowledge as some seem to be more like historians!
Next, I've been in the search for good grinders and buffers and I keep seeing everyone hear talk highly of the block grinders. Honestly I blew it off as being a cosmetic choice, but today I'm a changed man!
Found a 397 series 1/2 hp 6" grinder on Clist and had to check it out. Lady inherited it from her father and was cleaning the garage and needed to sell.
Only problem with this grinder is that it was dusty and barely used, seriously maybe 1-2 grinds on each wheel. Barely any grinder dust. Every part was there and only a scratch or two in places.
I'm sold on the design and the 397 and the other high end block series as you can tell how well made it is by taking a look inside. Enjoy the pics.
It will sit close by its cousin, my 10" 1 HP Dayton/Baldor.
Oh and it was $20 locally.
