^^ I need one of those for hanging cabinets soon, I'm thinking GLL2-50 though, as I want the cross lines instead of just points.

Really don't get why Bosch didn't just use the same battery cap on the cordless Dremel as the Bosch 12v stuff. Why lock Dremel users into a battery system with TWO tools? Why not let them buy all sorts of other Bosch tools w/ their Dremel batteries?

I have a few. None of them have disappointed me.

I've used the heck out of the impact. It has a great light and trigger, both better than my similar Milwaukee.

The radio sounds good and has great reception.

For holes in anything harder than wood this is the way to go. Hammer drills are way too much work.

The GST25 for metal cutting. Works well. It's a short stroke version that allows the motor to spin faster at lower blade speeds.

Never knew the made a rotary tool. I've been disappointed with the more recent plug in Dremel tools. They don't seem very durable compared to the one I have from years ago.

Dremel was purchased by Bosch in the mid 90s. The Dremel 12v 8220 is very similar to the Bosch GRO 10.8v, and the batteries are actually identical, minus the stupid cap they snap on the top. The cap (a) locks into the tool, but also (b) locks you out from using the Bosch batteries on the Dremel tools, and vice versa. You could of course, pop off the top cap and swap back and forth each time you use it, but that's just a pain.

Here's how you swap the caps...

When purchasing new tools, I always look at Bosch first, but dont always buy bosch, but probably 9/10

More like a mild craving than an addiction for me. None the less it's one of my favorite power tool brands.

Ooh nice. I've been looking at the Metabo band file and its very expensive, maybe Bosch is better priced.

Does anyone with the heated jacket find that the battery dies quickly even if it is turned off? I find that the battery is dead if I leave it in the jacket for a few days without turning the heat on.

I think this would be the appropriate place to get some education on the different color Bosch tools.. So what's the difference between the Blue Bosch tools and the Green Bosch tools?

I have a small set of Bosch ACR Phillips and Slot bits. I stuffed them into the end of my Snapon ratcheting screwdriver.

If you don't plan on wearing the heated hoodie or jacket for a few days its best to either remove the battery or disconnect the cord from the battery adapter. There seems to be some slow battery drain even when turned off. I keep a spare battery handy to prepare for the no heat suprise because it will get cold fast when the power goes out. Bosch jacket/Milwaukee hoodie

In general the Green tools are for DIY homeowners that doesn't really stress the tool. The Blue tools are for professional use. They are sturdier and heavy duty designed for a long lasting use.
Nowadays the Green are really cheap and weak.
There were times like 20-25 years ago that the Green tools were also made in Germany and Switzerland and they were great. My dad still has the Green hammer drill for 21 years now running great and he abused it very much.
I would even say that the old Green tools of 20 years ago or so are even better of some of today Blue line tools.

My dad has also some, I guess like 30+ years old green tools which he still uses but I talked him out of using the circular attachment for his drill. ;)

I've had my trusty top handle Bosch jig saw for over 30 years. I recently bought a router kit for both fixed and plunge. I like the variable speed and pretty wood handles. I've never had a decent router, using an old POS Craftsman 1/4" for about 40 years. I never realized what a good router could do!

I think he's looking more for those bruiser-specs, that put out 700-800 ft lbs forward torque, and 1100-1200 ft lbs in reverse.


Certainly not an everyday tool since they're so large and heavy, but for rusty exhausts and stuff, they are useful.

I did an online chat with Bosch customer service and they said there is no intention to bring the 12v impact wrench here. It makes me want to dump my Bosch stuff and buy Milwaukee. Although I do have a M12 portaband so I could just buy the Milwaukee impact wrench

You can import it w/ two of the new 2.5Ah batteries and a an L-BOXX for another $100.

Versus the Milwaukee, the Bosch is much smaller and nimble. I think the Milwaukee puts out more power, but it's almost an 18v sized tool.

For me, who has both 12v and 18v sized tools, I appreciate the smaller size since I could always step up to 18v if I needed more power. I traded all my M12 Fuel tools in for Bosch about 6 months ago, no regrets so far.

I agree with you. The Bosch is better but at $170ish shipped it's outrageous. If it was available in US it would be no more than $120
