Just spent my tool fun money on a Bosch table saw. I've been wanting one for years. Got $50 off by opening a Home Depot credit card. I'll close the account next week.

Very cool, I am a big fan of the led light, very well thought out and bright.

Have you had a change to try the vac?
I bought the 18V model because of the very mixed reviews.

Bosch is $20 off $100 on Amazon right now. Made a couple of orders and got the right angle 12v drill, jig saw, and 25pc bi-metal hole saw as well as a bunch of their accessory kits (drill bits, jigsaw blades, impact bits)

Pics when they all show up.

I also ordered the Bosch 10.8v grinder from eBay Germany as a bare tool + lboxx and insert kit

I'll tell you a nasty little secret about that little 12 volt lithium battery. When I bought my Bosch impact driver and got a bonus drill the batteries that came with it were marked 10.8 volts. Some time later I saw what looked like the same battery in HD, marked 12 volts. I called Bosch and the story I got was that it was the same battery. They reach a peak of 12 volts briefly when freshly charged. They explained that all their competitors were doing it so they had to, also, so as not to appear to have a lower voltage tool. The other day I discovered that the are still marked 10.8 volts in Europe. So much for truth in advertising.

Not legal to do that over in Europe.
Dewalt's 20V line is also not really 20V.

With NiCd and NiMH batteries, I think most people know that the packs are made up of 1.2 volt sub C cells so packs are always multiples of 1.2. They read higher when freshly charged ,as well. Lithium cells are nominally 3.6 volts per cell so the batteries we are discussing are 3 cells x 3.6 volts =10.8 volts If you go to 4 cells you are up to 14.4 volts. Every type of battery has a voltage based on it's chemistry.Lead-acid car batteries are 2 volts x 6 cells for 12 volts. Alkaline cells (AAA, AA, C, D) are 1.5 volts.
It is so obviously BS to come up with 12 volts when it is not even close to what you get from three lithium cells. Even at the manufacturing level, this goes on. Many manufacturers sell their lithium cells as 3.7 volts. That still only comes to 11.1 volts.

I figured this would be appreciated in this thread. I was poking around at Lowe's today and saw this bag marked down to $15.91c00a9799c48e3f466564e1188eb5e9.jpg
I was chuckling to myself about how ridiculous the price was. I figured it was from a set that they broke up for floor display of the tools. Then I opened up the bag and my eyes about popped out of my head. 4a1138373dd1bd9285d1e7e41a7e84ed.jpg
Yup, that's two 2.0 AH batteries, one of the old 1.5 AH batteries, an extra charger, and the little bag for $15. My score of the month.

Bosch 12v Flexiclick 5in1 arrived. Thought I would show the US packaging. The US gets the standard softcase with elastic straps for the drill and charger, everything else just floats. The Lboxx setup they get in the EU is sweeter but larger than the softcase. There are a number of videos of the EU version on youtube if your interested in more details. The batteries are charging as I type, more comments too follow after I have had it awhile.

This all stems from advertising laws.. all 12v US platforms are 10.8 overthere..

EU advertising laws. This never happened with NiCd batteries. The nominal voltage of a NiCd cell is 1.2 volts, not the peak charge voltage, but the average voltage. The batteries are multiples of that, 12, 13.2,
14.4, etc. Lithiums should be multiples of 3.6 V. That is the voltage of the individual cells. Just go to any of the many places selling lithium cells. 3 cells is 10.8. There is no way to get 12. Four cells is 14.4.
