Bosch 12v Flexiclick 5in1 arrived. Thought I would show the US packaging. The US gets the standard softcase with elastic straps for the drill and charger, everything else just floats. The Lboxx setup they get in the EU is sweeter but larger than the softcase. There are a number of videos of the EU version on youtube if your interested in more details. The batteries are charging as I type, more comments too follow after I have had it awhile.

I am using this to install some cabinets for the base of a window seat and found the offset angle attachment to come in very handy when working inside a cabinet. Performance thus far of the offset and right angle attachments have been very good with no DIY issues.

I also ran across this CR review of 12v drills others my find amusing as the Bosch is the only brushless one in their list.

I have a Bosch barrel grip jig saw that I bought 30+ years ago. It's my go to saw in the shop. When away from the shop I have a cordless top handle jig saw. I love them both

I have the barrel grip, too. I was at a wood working show and the Bosch dealer had the barrel and top grip both set up to try. I felt I had better control with the barrel but I agree, both good.

I also have the 12 volt impact. When I bought the impact I had the choice of a bonus drill driver or L driver. I took the drill driver. I also have a set of spade bits with the screw tip. It pulls the bit through the wood. When I got my 12 volt stuff it was still called 10.8 volts, as it still is in Europe. The EU has a better handle on advertising BS. All of the lithium stuff here, is rated on the peak voltage right after charging, which bleeds off with a few seconds use. They never pulled that nonsense with NiCds. I am considering the 12 volt vacuum to replace my old, anemic dust buster.

Well, I had to collect my Bosch cordless collection in one place so I can put it up for sale, so I figured I might as well throw up a photo here. I've LOVED all of my Bosch cordless tools, unfortunately they just don't have anywhere near the selection that Milwaukee has... and I've standardized on one platform.

Any ideas on a value? Other than the 36V drill and batteries, everything is lightly used and in VERY good condition.

Figured this would be a good place to ask (alongside Tools of the Old World  ) about the Bosch GLI12V-330 LED light.

I've just bought one to go alongside the rest of my 12V range, all of which I am pleased with and rate.

However this LED light has an audible buzz which does not go away.

Has any other users found the same issue (i.e. "they all do that Sir") with the product or do I have a defective unit?
(There is no local shop to try out, unfortunately).

The quality of light is ideal, but the buzz is annoying!

I just had mine running all afternoon on Sunday in a fairly small room, about 6.5' x 8.5'. I didn't hear anything.

I have two and they make no sound whatsoever.

Thanks for confirming.
Along with similar responses in the Old World thread it seems that I have a defective unit as all others seem to be silent.
Bosch are going to collect the item apparently, so we'll see what they think.

In other news I purchased another couple of 102 L Boxxes to add on to the existing.
I didn't realise the design had changed slightly at some point, which now makes my OCD tingle seeing them against one another.

Might have to replace the old with new... :bounce:

To close this out, the vendor arranged for a Bosch Service person to pick up the unit for further investigation.
A few days later I had a brand new GLI 12V-330 unit delivered by courier direct from Bosch.
Fired it up and it operates in total silence. Very happy with both the result and the service from Bosch.

Many thanks to those of you who confirmed the fault.

I know you guys like Bosch tools. I have the ability to pick up a Bosch table saw with stand for $250. It looks like the work site table saw. Is this a decent deal?

It really depends on what YOU want to use it for. I personally don't need a saw that is very portable, so I bought an old 70-80's craftsman 113.xxxx table saw as tons of guys have one so parts and accessories are abundant.

But if you need something that is portable and you can hide in a corner, I think the bosch is a good choice. Does it come with the gravity rise stand?

Yeah it does come with the gravity rise stand. I am looking for something i can store away and use it for personal every once in a while projects. I was picking up a router and a belt sander from this guy( I think i scored - both porter cable products and the router was never used - for $60) and he said he was getting rid of tools. So i saw the saw and he said he wasn't budging on that price of $250 on that. So looks like i am picking it up in 2 weeks from him. He said he would hold it for me. Looked like the fence and guards were there still too.

funny thing is he tried to give away a portable air compressor to me. The thing was old and looked real heavy. I just couldn't use one right now. I have one in my garage and another one in my mother in law's garage that will be mine as well once we sell that place.

Admitting I have a problem is the first step to treating an addiction. Committing to 'B' for my cordless environment did not help.

I still believe certain companies excel with certain types of tools. Hammer drills and Jigsaws go to Bosch. But, I'll never stray from my Milwaukee SuperSawzall; it's been tough as (tougher than?) nails, so to speak. I took the plunge on a Porter Cable Router, it has been a flawless performer for 15+ years. I have standard and worm drive circular saws from DeWalt. I love the worm, it cut circles around everything else requiring big torque. I am not convinced the standard is the best option. I have a Metabo angle grinder that is da bomb.

Having said all that, It's Hammer (Drill) Time:

I'm glad I found this, my old Milwaukee 14.4 & 19V Power Plus batteries were getting a little long in the tooth and while the tools themselves are still perfect for what I need, sourcing or rebuilding batteries is becoming a bit of a **** shoot. It boiled down to 12V Makita or Bosch for me, others were out largely due to lying to/scamming customers but that's another story. I settle on Bosch as I have a 12V Dremel that takes the same battery and only the end cap needs to be popped off to make the packs interchangeable. I do wish there were more tool on their 12V platform but I see that Europeans get first dibbs on the newest 12V offerings with some of it trickling over here. I don't know if a 12V 1/2" drive impact wrench would be viable given the available power but that's what I'm most interested in, it would take little more than a new anvil and hammer in the current 3/8" drive impact to make that happen.

Recently they became very affordable over here in Germany. They sell for somewhat over 100€, even in the local hardware store. Since my dad purchased the grandfather of that thing (UHB 2/20 rle) 30! years ago for a lot more, I checked the ratings for the GBH 2-20 D on Amazon:

13% 1 Star ratings
Leaking oil after one year
Drill chuck no running round
Made in Russia
....

Thanks, but no thanks.

Now I own the grandfather of that thing. Purchase for 50€ in good condition from a guy who sold out his whole workshop.

Continuing the cordless collection. Bare tool from amazon. Have not used it yet but love the balance and it feels smooth and powerful. a97a6dfaf34d917a76411124e4108636.jpg

Bosch power tool thread

Have t seen much on here for cordless Bosch tools. Who out there runs them? What tools do you run? I have a drill and impact kit I bought a few years back, the sawzall, and just ordered their newest drill and impact, as well as a cordless grinder and 4 4mAh and an 8mAh battery pack.

Also I have their big jobsite radio too. It's not too bad and the charger and powerstrip built in are great to have.bf43714066517c06939e42647821dc1e.jpgbdb3da00e45a6060fced3130d662f43b.jpgScreenshot_20190901-161532.jpgScreenshot_20190901-161511.jpg

Oh have a little 12v drill from them too, it's light, and convenient for a lot of stuff, and not too powerful when working on little stuff.

Okay, I'll bite. I have a number of Bosch tools and they have all been problem free. I don't purchase tools from a particular brand, rather I purchase specific tools from manufacturers that I believe produce best in class tools for a particular tool.

As such I have blue, red, yellow, orange and green+blue tools. From Bosch I had a SCMS that I sold when I downsized, but I have a few routers and the new 12V Flexiclick that are great. I also have an old Bulldog concrete SDS drill that has been problem free. More recently I acquired a Bosch Laser distance measuring unit and it is excellent for measuring interior and exterior spaces.

Re: Bosch power tool thread

I used to own several Bosch woodworking tools, no more. Junk. I had the 1617 router that had the magnesium bases. The outside of the router started to pit and corrode, that Bosch had a recall on, as the problems were numerous. Some people even had the router get stuck in the base. As the bearings in the router were becoming noisy, I sent it in to Bosch to have the outside replaced and while they had it all apart, to replace the bearings. Got it back and it sounds and vibrates like a diesel router. About a month later, my 12" Bosch miter saw went up in smoke. Needless to say, they both went into the trash. Now, all I have is Festool, Dewalt, and Milwaukee. No problems and hassle free. Sorry to rail on the Bosch fans, but this is my experience.

I have a Bosch 1/2 inch corded drill with triple gear reduction. It’s made in Switzerland and is an absolute beast that will break your wrist if you’re not careful!

Yep, I've got around 30 Bosch 10.8v, now called 12v Max which is BS. NONE have ever failed. I think I have a dozen flashlights and a dozen magnetic LED lights in regular use. None of the Bosch 12v or 24v Nicad or 36v Lithium Batteries have failed either. Of course, the 24v nicad batteries get broken when they are dropped because they are so heavy.....
The only other cordless batteries that I have that have had zero failures is Festool. My 40 or so Makita 18v LXT have been excellent but the Dewalt stuff has been very poor and I don't even have that many. They all fail way too fast.

It's tough to be a Bosch fan when Milwaukee and Dewalt are stepping up their games so quickly compared to Bosch.

With that being said, I recently capitalized on the Amazon Bosch deals and purchased the Bosch JS570 router and 1250DEVS sander. I haven't used either more then a few minutes yet, but so far they look nice sitting in my cabinet. :(

I am really lusting after the Bosch glide 12" miter saw and T1B stand, but dammit that price is a hard pill to swallow for someone who simply wants to replace the crappy craftsman setup with a crooked fence.

My background is carpentry/cabinetry. I hold Bosch tools in very high regard. They don't do everything but what they do, they do extremely well.

My only Bosch tool is my 1/2 inch Corded Drill model number 1034 vsr. Sadly, Bosch has decided to discontinue this drill. It’s made in Switzerland, has speeds of 0-500 rpms, and will break your wrist if your not careful with it!

I got the impact driver for Christmas. Kind of behind times and this is my first one. Trying now to separate the truth from fiction about impact bits and where to buy them. For starters I bought #2 phillips and a Torx set packaged as Bosch. I haven't used them much yet so no real opinion on them. I really do like the driver though. I already had the 18V drill/driver so we stayed within that battery platform.

I use the Bosch bits and am happy with them. I haven't compared them with other brands as I'm not dissapointed in them, so why fix something that isn't broken right?

Got a few of my Bosch-made Starlock blades today, and was surprised and mildly concerned to see that one of them was made in China instead of Switzerland. Hopefully that is because it's a cheaper/simpler scraper blade, and not because Bosch is moving all their blade manufacturing there. The blades I bought are mostly stock from 2016-2018, this one is from 2019.
