I was just telling a co worker about this build... I wasnt sure if it was still alive as I hadnt visited in many years. I LOVEEEEEEE everything about this thread.
I'm honored that this would be your first post in the forum..

I"m not familiar with soils in Utah, but please tell my you had a geotech involved.
I just drew it up on the back of a napkin.
okay so who's lift did you choose as I am in the same boat need a lift and just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Utah, WOW!!!
I've been reading this for the past hour and notice many drool stains.
That is the coolest garage I've seen. After I win the Lottery, can I borrow that napkin?
With a garage like that I could get alot more **** at yard sales..
lol...
Just remember. Any space you have.. you fill up. I'm almost full...![]()

Utah - Any chance we could talk you into seeing the finished product?
I recently signed off on the construction of a new 42' x 65' garage. I have spent a lot of time with the architect trying to figure out how to shoe horn in a recording studio. He suggested I make the garage deeper 85'. After reading this post (Every page) I sent the contractor a notice putting the project on hold. This is my solution, if I build underground as you did I will have plenty of space for my studio. I never considered a room underneath because I had not seen it done as you did it. Thanks for the pictures and information. I think I will post my progress as my project proceeds.
New pony inbound for the bunker garage.

utah997,
Congrats on reaching the 1 million mark! I thought for sure that you'd get there before our restored auto shop did. Your place is great and it's obvious you've put lots of time/effort into creating a space to work in. The rule is:
You fill the space you have...and more...!
Chris
I remember when I first saw this build begin, and saw the pictures of the excavation....thinking wth, why? I became an addict to this thread. All I can say is wow.
Believe me all my neighbors were thinking the same thing..![]()
