Re: The Concrete might be Underground but I'm not.

WELCOME BACK!!!!

I can't wait to see the updates. The concrete underground was one thread I looked forward to updates from every single day. Went through severe withdrawls when you stopped posting. I know it will take a while but I would love to read as much details as you are willing to post about the build. Loved all the little details and step by steps that you used to post.

That was the most epic thread on Garage Journal. The real life equivalent of the Batcave.
Welcome back!

I've been getting architectural concrete withdrawal symptoms :eyecrazy:

Like others, I'm looking forwards to seeing some updates in 2018!

OMG this build is incredible! I really enjoyed all 133 pages of the build. Glad your back and look forward to seeing the finished project. Thanks for sharing the build with us. I'm sure it was a lot of work to keep the posts going as well as being so involved in the building process.

I'm one of the people who were quietly hoping you were okay and I'm very glad to see that's true. Also very excited to see the updates.

Cheers!

I too am glad to hear your "back"! You don't know how many time I've seen a pump truck (here in ME) wondering if it was your Co. I've even found you're place while playing around on Google earth but I realize that your project you shared with us is now your home. Missed my chance but my fault. I look forward to your future posts!

Re: The Concrete might be Underground but I'm not.

I have merged the new topic with the old one and opened the old one again so it can move forward. So great to see this happening again.

How come that the original build thread says it is "closed"?

Terrick,

The mods closed the thread when Doug hadn't posted in awhile. To my recollection, the way they left it was it was closed until such time that he wanted to restart it.

Happy New Year Doug and welcome back!

Dave

Drama is not liked and it was closed after being extremely moderated due to some not so nice comments.

Great to see some appreciative comments this time so lets hear what has been going on.

Doug and I have shared a few messages lately so it is great to see him posting again.

So very good to hear that, like Mark Twain, the rumours of demise are greatly exagerated.
Glad you're back and look forward to seeing the progress!

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. The GJ is a special place! Some of the best people you'll ever meet. I'll be moving snow tonight.......I never did tell you much about the driveway did I? Let's just say it's not for the faint of heart. I'll get an update up tomorrow if i can remember how to do it. lol

Welcome back. This was one of the first threads that brought me to GJ. I have often referenced your build when discussing concrete design with colleagues and they are always blown away by your abilities and attention to detail

Doug, do you feel like the leed in a county parade? So many people have been waiting for your return, it’s amazing. I have to admit that i am with all the others. I have read your entire thread and have found that a lot of the info has helped me with my build.
So without further ado, what’s next?
