So recently I've been seeing a Mac Truck driving around town but he never stops by my dealership. I understand our shop may not be part of his route but today I sent a request for them to try to start stopping by. Anyways I get on Facebook and look at Macs page and there are sooooo many people begging to get a truck to stop at their shop. What is wrong with Mac tools that they can't stop at places? You never see this problem with Snap on or Matco. Anyone else have this problem?

Our Mac guy comes by whenever he likes. When he does come he will go across the street to that shop and 75% of the time wont come to us unless i flag him over. Now lately he has been driving his minivan not his tool truck. He is a 30 year dealer so not some new guy.

In my area, I've heard its because there are so few drivers, they have such a large area to cover, and they may not have the time to add another shop to their route. Thats what I've been told. Who knows for sure though.

Mine have always been like that hit or miss ****** service and Chinese tools for American money. That's why I don't spend any money with mac

The only MAC dealer in my town just quit showing up. Haven't seen a MAC truck for 4 or 5 years.

We no longer have a mac guy. Been about 10 years. Matco is still here.....but he never shows anywhere. All the guys I know have too beg him to stop......beg for weeks. Glad I am done with matco. 2 snap on guys in the area though......one just added another truck, and the othet guy is thinking about it. (asked me if I was interested) Snap on stays busy here......the others, not so much. We had a great matco guy a few years ago, then he went private.....then he sold it and the new guy disapeared.

What's a Mac tools truck? I have seen more Cornwell trucks than Mac here. I wish I had a Mac truck here. There's a lot of stuff I would like to try.

I've had a Mac guy at my shop on and off the past 20 years. Never spent a lot of money with them. Snap on has always been there week after week and has a well stocked truck. So I buy most of my tools from them.

I'm a one man shop, all be it a heavy traffic bobcat skidsteers dealership. The only.one that stops is SO, so I buy pretty much all SO. I use to buy a lot from corny, but he hung it up and the new guy wont stop here. Same with matco and Mac. I have found them when out and about with the service truck, but none will.work me on to their route.

Our shop has the MAC guy come every Thursday like clockwork. It's rare that he doesn't show, and he usually tells us if he wont be there. Snap-On, on the other hand.... What's that? There hasn't been a good Snap-On dealer since I started my career as a mechanic. I have been told it's been 10 years since a good Snap-On guy has been around.

Out mac guy is fantastic. No complaints. Matco...eh...he's ok. He shows at noon on friday and leaves at 12:15 on the dot. The snap on guy...I have to chase him up the friggin block to get a socket replaced. He keeps swearing he'll be by...never ahows unless I go hunt him down.

Around here there are several Snap-On drivers in the area. The one I have always dealt with has always been very good. Ive heard not so good things about another driver a half hour away. There was a MAC guy, older guy, very nice, not pushy, but he retired and I havent seen a MAC truck in 3 years around here. I rarely see a Matco truck. I will chase down my Snappy driver once or twice a year to replace something or to buy a new ratchet or something, but thats about it anymore. He stops by my ex coworkers (friends) shop weekly, so If I have to warranty something I just take it there, which is 30 sec from my current workplace.

I know Mac isn't the most customer friendly operation going. The body shop I use told the current guy not to come back after they think he stole a pair of sunglasses and and a cell phone off the top of a box. YouTube has a bunch of videos with pissed off franchisees bitching how Mac sells other people's tools as their own and calls them exclusives. I think within 10 years snap on will be the only truck left. I still have all 4 near me, but its a matter of time.
