I got it last year for$120, or$140, cannot remember. I sold the batteries and charger though.

Cool. I plan on doing the same thing. Might swing by the store again and see if they got anymore in. Know a few people who would like one.

But don't you see, if I get that I'll have to get cordless 4-1/2" grinders too.

Any of you fellas interested in any of these 20 Volt Tools? Have them just sitting away in my closet not being used. They are all brand new in the box. PM if you'd like. Plan on putting them up on eBay soon.

I've got my boss almost talked into buying a new crimper for my service van....I'm doing more and more bigger cable and some specialty things that could use the new died crimper from DeWalt....and the fact that I've got one coming in to sample for no charge isn't bad either...and it uses the dies we've already got in/around the shop!

I'm on vacation this week so I finally had time to get the whole family together for a photo. I spent a good hour recording serial numbers and part numbers just to keep tabs on what is there. I may be paranoid but when not in use everything stays locked up!

I have a brushed drill/impact driver kit from about 3 years ago (DCF885/DCD771) and just last week picked up a brushless drill (DCD777). Heard lots of good things about the brushless lineup and the extra batteries sealed the deal. Just used it for a small project this evening, I really like the smooth start/stop compared to the brushed drill from the kit.

So far the impact driver has been used by far the most, from building odd stuff (shelves, workhorses, etc.) to driving every screw installing metal roof and siding on my shop. The drill from the kit may have seen 2% of the use that the impact has seen. Trying to convince myself that I'll see more drill use in the future when I'm working more IN my shop than ON my shop.

Now I can get a DCD790 for what seems like a really good clearance price, under $100cdn. First glance it looks like the pro version of the DCD777 that I picked up last week. Metal gearbox case, revised LED location, "XR" branding. Two aspects to the question here.... Is there some advantage to the home user in the DCD790 vs DCD777? And does the typical home user have use for 3 drills (2 brushless and a brushed)?

**EDIT** Should have known better, here's a pic of the current lineup

Here’s a pic of a hot wire styrofoam cutter.
Let me know if you can’t live without it.

Still here. This is my overflow cabinet. Pretty much all Dewalt in it. Mostly spares and the lasers live in here. Everything else is with me on the road.

I wish. Only reason I've found so far that I had to go with the red-team. I put baby in the corner. :D

Dewalt actually makes a 12v (possibly 20v) I believe ratchet branded for the Mac tool trucks. But the price tag is outrageous. I’d much sooner recommend a Milwaukee, ac Delco, or even the earthquake from harbor freight before spending your money on that. Last I looked I think it was like near $300 for a bare tool.

DeWalt just announced it on their FB page today, I was waiting for one but ended up buying their smaller booster pack with built in compressor a couple months ago.

I’ll have to get some updated pics of my collection. Picked up a few more things last week including a vacuum, a couple of 9ah Flexvolt batteries and the 2x20v lawnmower.

Wife asked if I wanted to blow the gardens out... so she bought me this...

Very happy with mine, it’s been going strong for about 2 years now. Only downside I’ve found is the Flexvolt batteries are a very tight fit and stick out below the base.

Have seen the DeWalt DXH70CFA 20V propane heater advertised. Supposed to be quiet.

Home Depot has an 11 piece set for $599 today. What do you guys think?

Worth it? Don’t need all of them but more tools never hurts. Seems like a heck of a deal but all brushed units I am sure. I have a lot of new M12 tools but these would be for bigger less frequent jobs.

I’ll get pics of my ‘Yella’ stuff later... Flexvolt Circular saw, recip, angle grinder, brushed and brushless drill, brushed and 2 BL impacts.

Eying a SDS 20v drill and oscillating tool.

I don't own any of those but have used several at a friend's shop. Which tools specifically do you think you'll need for bigger jobs? I wonder if the Fuel version of the M12 tools might not be equal or close enough.

I like the drill and impact but am not so impressed with the circular saw or grinder. Jig saw is just okay.

I don't believe I've used that exact oscillating tool but I'm guessing it's fine.

I may have used that vac and the light but the rest of the tools they don't have.

It does look like a good deal but if it were only the circular saw and grinder you wanted for bigger jobs, for example, I think you'd be better off spending the same money in other ways.
