I love this fan! The guys on some reviews saying it could have a little more power are crazy -- for the size it rocks (and moves a lot of air, very quietly). Yes, I have a corded high velocity that moves more, but they're two very different beasts!

Did you get a good deal deal on the fan? When they first came out, they could be found $80 and a package for like $100 with a battery. Now they are much higher

Yes, I got a free 3.0 battery and charger with it, that I promptly sold for full price. All in all, the fan cost me $10.

The Dewalt inflator has been a little disappointing -- 20 min to save the skidsteer tire (65 psi). Ig I shouldn't say that -- nothing else out there is any faster, and it has been really convenient for smaller flat tires far out. But if you can reach shop air, that's probably the move for anything high pressure or a large tire.

Ig that's probably common sense, but my experience has verified it.

Thanks, I was waiting to find out if that was the case. I have the Dewalt 1400A booster pack with the built in compressor and was hoping the cordless inflator would be an upgrade but it doesn’t look like it.

It did a super cubcadet (diesel, 1582) rear tire from 0 to 10 in just over 2 min.

That 12x16.5 skidsteer tire really put the hurt on it!

Wait, what? The DeWalt OMT doesn't run on a FlexVolt battery pack does it?

I thought it only ran on 20v.

Any of the 20V tools will work with a Flexvolt battery. The batteries can deliver 20V for more ah, or deliver 60V for fewer ah.

Flexvolt is 20v/60v. 40v is an entirely different platform

Yep you're right, my mistake.

Link below actually explains it quite well. A 6ah Flexvolt battery is basically three 2ah 20V batteries stuck together. There's a mechanical switch inside that is activated when using them on Flexvolt tools that connects the three 20V 2ah batteries in series to run at 60V 6ah.

When used on regular 20V tools it's basically like having three 2ah batteries to run through in one pack.

I don't think I will ever understand the difference between 20V Max tools that can't interchange with a FlexVolt battery, vs 20V Max tools that can.

I do understand the concept of a battery that has flexible voltage options, running three banks of five 3.6V cells each, where the banks can be switched to run in series for 54v, or in parallel for 18v with more available current capacity. I understood that part two years ago, when DeWalt introduced FlexVolt.

But I also understood at the time that certain 20v tools could not be run with the FlexVolt batteries, while the some of the newer 20V tools that DeWalt has released within the last couple of years can.

Even on the DeWalt website, there are two categories of cordless construction tools... 20V MAX SYSTEM, and, in a separate category, FLEXVOLT SYSTEM.

Are there some 20V Max tools that will not run on a FlexVolt battery?

My understanding is that some older tools don’t work with the Flexvolt battery because the larger battery physically interferes with the tool case.

I thought it was an issue with some radios.

I can’t substantiate this, though. It’s only a recollection from reading some obscure thread in the distant past, so don’t bet the farm on me being correct.

ALL 20v tools accept flexvolt batteries. No 60v tools accept 20v batteries. Flexvolt = 60/20, hence, flexible

I got an unexpected impulse buy yesterday (but a good deal). I was using the floor model, and it was so darn powerful (for the small size) I pulled the trigger.

That and the framing nailer would be phenomenal...but not at new prices. Especially if you need the kit with battery(ies) too.

Thanks to a fellow GJer, I added this and a flex volt battery pack.

You’ll love it, had mine a couple years and I use it for much more than I ever thought I would.

I think you’re right. My Flexvolts work in every 20V tool I have, the only one that is tough is the leaf blower, it’s a very tight fit and sticks out below the base but still works if you force it in!

Yesterday was the very first time my 2x20V lawnmower wouldn’t do my whole yard on a pair of 9ah... only 4 strips short though! The grass was extremely thick and damp so the deck packed with grass wasn’t helping anything. I’m sure if I cleaned it part way through it would have lasted fine until the end.

If I lived in town I'd buy one in a heartbeat. On the bright side, now you have a reason to look for 12s :bounce:

I'm loving this blower. Easily blew 20# of dirt, spider web, and metal chips out of the shop this morning.

I been considering that one to blow off the sidewalks and driveway after mowing. Not big area but enough I'm tired of sweeping it.

How big of a yard to have?

I'm thinking of grabbing one of these, but reviews are very mixed. Most of the negative reviews seem to be complaints about the run time of the included 5ah batteries, and the single charger / recharge time. I can see that being an issue for anyone that doesn't already have a bunch of DeWalt batteries, but for those that do it's much less of an inconvenience.

How do you like it otherwise? I'm growing tired of the gas mower and having to go through a yearly ritual of trying to get it running in the spring.

It'll do it.
When I first came home with it my dad had been mid-mowing. I finished off, and blew off the mower and walks. It's not leaf blower, but it does that well enough and everything in the garage/shop excellently, so hard to beat imo.

Where did you get it and was it on sale? I wouldn't mind getting a heated jacket now if it's cheap

eBay, so of course so. NIB kit from some shop, somewhere. Best thing to do is set the reminder on your phone for the specific model no you want and hit when you see the best price.

Used the cordless sliding miter saw hanging siding all day. Didn't even knock one bar off the 6Ah battery.
