Is the grease gun good?

Yes! I need to pickup a lock n lube for it but I greased several tractors and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I don't have any problem using the trigger as opposed to the M18 which "counts" them out.

I also got my (cordless) sliding miter saw mounted up:

How big of a yard to have?

I'm thinking of grabbing one of these, but reviews are very mixed. Most of the negative reviews seem to be complaints about the run time of the included 5ah batteries, and the single charger / recharge time. I can see that being an issue for anyone that doesn't already have a bunch of DeWalt batteries, but for those that do it's much less of an inconvenience.

How do you like it otherwise? I'm growing tired of the gas mower and having to go through a yearly ritual of trying to get it running in the spring.

Hands down the best mower I’ve ever owned. My in-town lot is roughly 1/4 acre and a little over half of it is grass... a pair of 9ah batteries will do all the grass cutting plus all trimming (lots of trees and fence all the way around) and blowing off the sidewalks and driveway when I’m done unless the grass is very wet and thick in the spring. If the 9s don’t do it even a pair of 2ah is enough to finish it up.

I’ve had a couple 7hp Briggs powered John Deere push mowers and a brand new Cub Cadet with a 6.75hp Kohler and the Dewalt blows them all away with its power.

This is my first spring with it and being able to just push it out of the shed, drop the batteries in and start mowing is awesome. No fighting with the mower to start or changing oil. It stands up on its end to save space too. If you use it to mulch and bag leaves in the fall it’s great to just push a button and restart after emptying the bag as none of my gas mowers ever liked restarting when hot.

If I had to pick one thing I didn’t like - it doesn’t discharge well, it plugs very easily. I mulch every time anyways so it really doesn’t matter at all to me.

I’ve never run mine on just 5ah batteries to see how long they would last, when I bought the mower I got the store to trade the two 5ah batteries for one 9ah and then bought another 9ah with it.

Ordered a 60 volt string trimmer from HD last week, it arrived Tuesday and I saw that the box had been opened and taped shut. The charger and battery were missing so I called their 800 number spoke to a real person whose first language was English and we discussed my options, since there's no HD on the island and shipping back and a new one being shipped would take too long she emailed me a gift card for the price of a 9 amp battery and charger, $320. Not bad when I only paid $249 for the string trimmer. I didn't really need another fast charger but I ordered another and found 3 9 amp batteries all for $370. I only tried it quickly to make sure it works but I think I'm going to be very happy with it.

Question:

Do any of the Dewalt radios charge Flexvolts? I have 2XR tools and 2 20Vmax. Looking at getting some flexvolt batteries for multitool and grinder. Is there any scenario where a flexvolt wont fit a vMax tool?
9AH Flexvolt won't fit the DEWALT 20-Volt Max 5.0 Ah Brushless Blower (DCBL720P1).

Does anyone have any feedback on the 7 1/4" cordless miter saw?
Yes! I like it very much. Main thing is it's portability.

I had the very first 18v version of the grease gun and recently upgraded to the 20v version and threw a Lock-n-Lube coupler on there and I'm through 6 cartridges and sill haven't changed the battery that came with it. I could get maybe 2 cartridges with the old 18v gun before the batteries were dead. When I get to greasing things on the farm I can go through a few cartridges in a very short amount of time so long battery life is a major plus.

I'm 100% Ryobi for everything else (hey it's inexpensive) but this 20v grease gun is simply the best out there. I'm undecided on grabbing the Ryobi version that just came out and selling this one but I don't think I will. This thing is awesome !!

Just ordered this 14gal vac last night to add to my collection. I’ll mainly be using as a shop vacuum but hoping it will do a good job collecting dust from my other yellow tools!

I think I did okay, bought it for $133CDN which is about $99US.

The Toughsystem radio seems to live up to the hype: the sound is amazing.

You did good. Let us know how that works; the last new one we got was actually a Ridgid b/c of all the hype. Doesn't seem like anything special to me, though. :headscrat

The newest additions.

I’ve had those two for a few years and they are still working great. Lucked out and found the set brand new with two batteries and a charger for $150. The only thing I don’t like is the tiny guard/shield on the trimmer.

As for my new vacuum, I’m very impressed. Nice size, tons of suction and well thought out cord, hose and accessory storage. I used it last night to vacuum debris out of my window wells and tonight a whole lot of leaves from under my stairs and deck.

I've found running it lefty and going opposite of my usual path helps with the debris. I think it might spin opposite of most gas ones, although I might be wrong on that.

Scored a new tower light on marketplace, half of new.

Does DEWALT make a 1/4 ANVIL brushless impact like their 3/8 cordless impact by chance. Been lookin for one from them but not finding it?

Nothing that I’m aware of, but never really went looking for one. I just use a 3/8” to 1/4” adapter.

Just got this little guy in. Just gave it a quick trial run but I really like it. I had two crappier trouble / work lights, one that was rechargeable and one that ran on AA batteries. Both were poor quality and had lots of issues. Battery life was poor and both were flimsy and broke easily.

This DeWalt light is much nicer. It's significantly brighter. Swiveling hook on the top is great. 180 degrees of head rotation is nice too. And even with a small 2ah battery it sits nice and stable.

Will have to use more to determine battery life. But for $50 CAD I'm glad to not be using those cheap and dim ones anymore.

Anybody have experience with dewalt 18 gauge pneumatic mailers, might be buying a kit and not sure how good they are.

I’ve had that one a couple years and it works great... just used it last night fixing the brake light switch on my truck!

I have the DWFP12233 and have used it for 3 or 4 projects. No complaints, does exactly what it’s supposed to with no issues.

Awesome to hear since that's the one I'm looking at, HD has the gun for $120 but also has that gun in a kit including 50ft hose and compressor for $180 so kinda thinking about going that direction.

I borrowed my BILs 20volt cordless a few weeks ago and really want that but can't justify that as it will be sitting alot.

My next nailer will be cordless. I am sick of dragging that damn noisy pancake compressor all over creation and tripping over the cord.

Don’t suggest a hammer, as I couldn’t drive a nail straight if my life depended on it.

I really wish I could find a used one but no luck and there's no way I can justify the cost of new. I'm a Milwaukee guy but seems like their mailers leave a lot to be desired.

I can convert a straight nail to bent in a couple hits, my Grandpa who was a master carpenter most roll over in his grave every time I try to nail something.

I love mine. Can drain a 2.1 in a few hours though.

Got the 20v chainsaw today, seems nice. Might try it out tomorrow

The chainsaw works pretty well, I trimmed quite a bit of black walnut and cottonwood, and still had a bar on the battery.

Cuts great, albeit it's a minty fresh Oregon chain.

I’ve got the 20v chainsaw too and have used it quite a bit over the past year or so. Only issue was the little flip up oil fill cap broke after using it a couple times. I went back to the store to see about a replacement cap and they exchanged the whole saw!

I was using this little to play corn hole camping with the guys and blacked out before turning it off. Woke up the next morning and it was still on at 9am running off a 6ah.

Wow! How did you pull that off??

I have done a few of these before for friends. Snap on and craftsman mainly. Each time i change a few things on how I do it. This one was casters, flat black rattle cans, yellow acrylic sheeting, automotive molding for false drawer handles, drawer locks and alot of patience! It looks even better in person.

On the other ones I used bondo to fill in the orange peel on the outer edges of doors. Very lengthy process. Since this one is mine I experimented with a siding brake and some trim coil to wrap the doors. Turned out good. It just took a few beers, one evening and the orange peel was no more.

It looks great! I wonder if a stainless or black one would have less texture to it?

You should sell those to the big time DeWalt dealers.

Has anyone given the new Atomic stuff a good test? I’m thinking of getting the drill and impact to replace my 12V drill and 20V DCF885 impact. I really like my DCF887 but decided to convert it to 3/8” drive so I’d like to upgrade my 1/4”.

It was mentioned in the Milwaukee thread that DeWalt is coming out with a brand new 12V line of tools called Xtreme. Seems like they were tired of Milwaukee owning the 12v market and wanted to up their game.

https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-xtreme-subcompact-series-of-cordless-power-tools-2019-launch-announcement/

xqbxigr0xfu1pjvye0bb.jpg

Dewalt-12V-Max-Xtreme-Sub-Compact-Series-Tools.jpg

The official announcement mentions a drill, hammer drill, impact driver, screwdriver, and 3/8" impact. But other pictures online show what looks like a Dremel type tool, oscillating cutter, and a snake camera.

Thoughts? This comes at an interesting time for me as I have been a big DeWalt 20V lover, but strongly considering getting into the Milwaukee M12 line for the compact tools. Now I'm wondering how good and how serious DeWalt will be about this new Xtreme line.

I have been on the fence of replacing my 12v max screwdriver that I love with red stuff. The fuel screwdriver is never in a kit and expensive by itself. I almost bough the fuel drill, fuel impact, free ratchet combo this week. I am glad I didn’t now. Dewalt feels so much better when in use I will gladly try the new stuff when it comes out. I have the current 12v max drill and isn’t very good. Hopefully the new drill can eliminate big chunk of my 20v drill use

For the oddball stuff that isn’t used everyday I can continue getting the m12
