New Dewalt 20v pole saw. Wife was on board cause she hates the trees hanging low at home. Really wanted it to clean up some farm entrances to get equipment in easier as machines arent getting any smaller. Did a little trimming at home so far, and no complaints.

I love that pole saw. Great battery life too. The 20v chainsaw is handy as well, just leaks oil like a cow ******* on a flat rock.

I got the pole saw a few weeks back. It's been really handy. Making me consider the 20v chainsaw.

Hopefully everyone is stocking up on the 20v fan kit on clearance at HD.

I just picked up two more @ $50 ea, and got a $50 refund for the two I bought @ $75 ea.

1.5 ah batteries aren't great, but work good for small jobs and the price is right.

I'm seeing them for $99 on "special buy" online. Is the $50 deal an in-store only?

Can you share the kit number? I saw this for $89 in store last week, but want to make sure I’m looking at the right kit before I go back to the store to check. Thanks!

I haven't seen any local for that price (quite excellent). I wonder if a V2 is coming?

Just wanted to say thanks again - I went back to the same store today and they were still marked at $89 on the display. I brought it up to checkout, and sure enough it rang up at $50.04. Very nice score IMO for $50!
Great! I bought 4 total, sold a couple batteries, all the chargers and one fan.

Ended up with 3 free fans and two batteries. The 1.5 ah batteries last longer then I thought they would, perfect for most small jobs.

Inventory day, neighbor had his garage raided and he lost all his power tools. He never took photos or serial numbers down, he couldn't prove what was stolen

Insurance gave him finds for whatever receipts he had, but even that was tough

Got my stash together across 2 houses and a truck. Cleaned them up and took photos while I'm at it

Smallest dab of dielectric grease as well 5b2f9797d629591f1f1f47de95e77b88.jpg

Thanks for the heads up NK. I need to do the same. Tell your neighbor I’m sorry to hear he was robbed. That *****. Low life POS.
We've caught people on camera walking down the road at 3am trying to open car doors but it was few and far between.

With the riots/marches going on around our block there's quite a bit more foot traffic

Neighbor had it padlocked from the outside and bolt cutters did the trick, must have scoped it out because they made sure no one was home

When I was younger and lived with my parents still, I can remember them using the giant video recorder to do a walk around the house. Open every door, closet, and even the attic. In the event a hurricane came through and wiped the house out, insurance could use the video for equity value

Picked up one of these today, not DeWalt but still Stanley Black and Decker.

For those who don't know, Craftsman VersaStack and DeWalt TStak (as well as some stanley fatmax boxes) will all link together. Craftsman has released some stuff that DeWalt hasn't in the U.S. at least, a locking toolbag, cooler/rolling box, and backpack to name a few.

The box this kit comes in is just another Versastack box, lots of tools for such a slim package, thinking about sliding it under the backseat of my truck.

Serial numbers are hard on the new tools, you have to look up a QR code and then the info is kinda hit and miss. Couple of tools I've never gotten a serial number. Try to take pics but sometimes buy stuff so often they get forgotten about! I need to group all mine together too but I'm sorta afraid it might force me to recognize a "tool problem". Also have them scattered between my shop, in the truck and the garage and basement at home. You could have me beat with 20v, it's close, but I win easy with the 60v! :rocker:

Yeah at one point last year I had more 60v's but didn't use them too much, way too much for a drill or impact but needed on the leaf blower, tripod lights, and definitely the heat gun. (And 60v tools obviously)

I think I sold 6 9.0s and 2 6.0s right before Christmas

Generally the 6.0s for for 100$ and the 9.0s go for about 130$

Curious, have any of you bought one of the rolling bag sets?

I don't see them for sale anywhere so I am going to get one by breaking up the kits at lowes. Hopefully I'm not just wasting time for a crappy product but I think I can come out ahead in the end. I may get two of the medium bags instead of the small one since that kit is a much better deal.

Ok so the roller bag is not full of pockets like the ones they used to sell. Still seems like a useful bag to have around. Maybe the smaller one is better in that regard.

I'll take a few pics in a bit.

That's seems to be a good deal. It's cheaper than buying 2 8ah batteries and you get the fan cooled charger. Thanks for helping spend my money.

I just purchased the new DeWalt cordless hammer drill model number 998. If you buy a DeWalt power detect tool from Lowes between now and 7/8/20, Lowes will through in an additional 8an battery. So if you buy the DCD998W1 kit which includes the drill, charger, and 1 8ah battery, Lowes will also give send you an additional 8ah battery. My drill kit is coming today and the extra battery next Tuesday.

This is from the Lowes website.

"Buy a select DeWalt 20V Power Detect (# 1597143, 1597145, 1597146, or 1599707), Get a DEWALT XR 20-Volt Max 8 Amp-Hour Lithium Power Tool Battery (# 1617011) FREE. Free item automatically added to cart. While supplies last. Offer valid 05/21/20 – 07/08/20"

Ugh... I have all the xr versions already but this is a pretty good deal.
I think I abuse the drill the most. The saws and the grinder seem to have enough power for my needs. You also get the handle upgrade which is nice.

The extra battery makes it a great deal.

I watched a video of a guy using the 998 cordless hammer drill with a 5ah, a 9ah flexvolt, and the 8ah battery. He was using a large spade bit and drilling through a 4x4 post. The drill did the best with the 8ah. With the 5ah battery the drill would stop a few times near the end. The flexvolt battery made it through with no stops, but it wasn't a powerful or fast as with the 8ah battery. He did the same thing with a large hole saw. It seems the power detect tools perform better with the 8ah battery.

Here is the roller bag from the 7 piece kit. I should have most of the tools sold today so I'm going to go grab a 5 piece kit this afternoon.

The handle is pretty weak, will have to be fairly gentle with it.21718ed83edf5b723c264befa11fd4ce.jpg72f299f8eb7827f45e0e8e3bd8e946ea.jpg

Lafester, can you tell us more about that big bag? Is there a part or item number on it? I'd like to have one myself, I really wish they were sold individually.

I don't think there is a number for it. I searched around and they used to sell a nice bag with pockets and USB charger but they seem to be discontinued.

I got the 5 piece bag yesterday and it has pockets on the inside. Going to get one more for the set.

The tools are an easy sell so don't let that stop you.

Ok here are the three bags stacked.
The tools are almost gone already and I should be done by tomorrow.

I should even have enough left over to get in on the power detect deal. I'll probably try and get everything but the reciprocating saw. Depends on how the big batteries sell.

These are starting to sell out, especially the 7 tool set...

How are the batteries selling? I just ordered up the angle grinder kit and used the $20 off coupon from ebay. I saw a big display of these yesterday when I was looking for a different kit. No in store signage for the free battery so I ordered online.

Oh wow, just got back and there was a problem with the order so they had to re ring it... they gave me 20% off instead of $20... nice. The batteries do ring up free in store which was good to know.

Hmm...that is interested. Makes sense given their pairing. Odd that an 8ah still smokes the flex...one would think the 9 and 12 ah would outperform.

Went and bought the angle grinder today.
16 minutes out the door after I ordered it outside the store after I bought the 199 jig saw ,charger and 3ah battery free.

I got 10% off the drill.lol A 20 coupon would be nice to get the saw.?.I see them now.

Too busy to list batteries. I see one for $90 for 8ah which is a great deal. But it’s been listed for 3 days and not selling.
I’m in no hurry but dang I don’t need all these batteries and chargers.:eyecrazy:
