I played with the angle grinder last night. Twisted wire wheel on rusty c channel, cleaned it right up. Didn't even slow down when leaning into it fairly hard. This was even with the 6ah battery as the 8 was still charging up. Run time seemed to be very good as well.

So far no interest in a battery or charger but I think Fathers day is affecting demand.

I got the Atomic one handed reciprocating saw (DCS369) for Father's Day, aka the DeWalt version of the Hackzall. Used it for the first time yesterday to cut a few lengths of ABS pipe.

I'm really happy with it! It does cut a little slower than the full size saw, but it's easy easier doing it one handed. I don't have to go grab clamps and try to clamp down a round pipe to cut it, I can just hold the pipe with one hand and cut away. Plenty of power for 2" ABS.

Interestingly, the saw is about the same total length as my "full size" DCS367. The difference is the ergonomics, where the DCS369 has the handle positioned near the middle, and is quite a bit lighter. The 367 handle is at the back and is heavier, so it has more power and stroke, but very hard to use with one hand.

I had compared this Atomic saw pretty extensively to the M12 Hackzall before asking for it for Father's Day, and ended up liking the Atomic more. The weight is more balanced and the handle is a nicer shape. Both were similar length and weight.

Anyone have the new 6 amp charger? Thinking about picking one up.
Mainly curious if it has a fan... I hate the fan in the fast charger.

I keep thinking I want a hackzall but I really have very little use for one.
I'm sure someday that will change.

I am torn between the two. I have the first gen conventional recip saw, and am thinking one handed is the way to go after getting my dad a fuel hackzall.

Yeah, definitely depends on your uses. The one handed is super convenient for small jobs, but I don't think it has the power or stroke for anything heavy duty like demoing framing with nails, or cutting a leaf spring bolt. In those cases the DCS367 shines.

I picked up the charger and so far so good. No fan is great, and I assume it will charge faster then my current charger. I have the DCB115 4 amp charger which I will keep as a backup.

As far as selling goes, the 7 piece and one 5 piece are completely sold. The second 5 piece has one battery, one charger and one impact driver left. Pretty happy overall and if CL buyers weren't so freaking insane I would do a couple more. Maybe when they clearance these out...

I freakingly love DeWalt and all the fools who love DeWalt and Craigslist/Facebook Mktplace/Letgo etc.

Last time I bought two fan kits with charger and 1.5 AH batteries for $59 each from Homedepot. I sold both in a day for $100 each. This time I got another bare tool (fan) from Lowes with a 3AH battery for $59. I don't know how much I can flip them. But $120 minimum. Last week, I bought a cordless, brushless XR orbital sander kit for $88. I sold the battery, charger and bag for $90. The sander cost me -$2. I just love DeWalt power tools. It is the perfect balance of price and quality, with a humongous rabid fans, fools or not.

Best price I can get on the DeWalt fan here is 105 with tax fan only no battery. Wish I could get these great deals at the stores locally or online.

Edit

Toolup has free 2 5 amp batteries with charger and bag with 2 bare tools. $235 for 2 fans with the free batteries. Might try the harbor freight fan with my existing DeWalt batteries for $35.

What? You mean HF cordless tools work with DeWalt batteries?

Allegedly they do with some work. The Bauer ones only. Need to trim some plastic on the tool and add a jumper wire I am told. My assumption is that the low voltage cutt off will not work so it is up to you not to over discharge.

Just like using the new DeWalt batteries in the 18v DeWalt tools with the adapter DeWalt sells or aftermarket copies.

RIP to the last week's worth of posts. I got the OMT out to modify a flange flush for a fountain, and picked up a new stainless DeWalt vacuum on clearance for about half off.

My latest yellow pickups. Got the FlexVolt compressor kit (DCC2560T1) for $200 on clearance at HD, and the 20V heat gun with free 3.0 starter kit at Lowe’s for $119 last week. That heat gun will come in handy bending back some wheel liner underneath my truck this weekend...

I'm a big fan of the yellow 20v tools. Have a bunch nested in the top of a HF tool cart.

That's a great find on the compressor. I look at the clearance aisle at every HD I go to.

I have the heat gun and occasionally use it, not a lot of air flow AT ALL but it does get hot!

I sold the compressor after it quit on me one day, went through the warranty process and sold it as soon as it came in, it was really nice and quiet but the tank just wasn't big enough.

A cordless hot glue gun would be really nice, as far as what they already make the Grease Gun, Atomic 4.5" saw, and new 20V task light is on my list.

Bought a DCF899 today and ordered the rubber protective boots to match 738994d5b9b7f10bbf70043b82a201b3.jpg

We’ll see if this can replace my trusty old Porter Cable 7424:

I’m really happy with my DeWalt tools

Been using them for about 30 years.

Jigsaw, miter saw, 18v hammer drill, 18v recip saw (bought them in the late 90’s, and they’re still strong, I wanna upgrade to the new battery system , but I don’t use them often enough to justify it. )

My go-to though are my 12v tools. They’re lightweight and convenient. I thought they were a joke when I first got them, but after 10 years of hard service, they’ve impressed me again and again. My daughter surprised me with a new brushless impact for father’s day, and right now, I have the hammer drill and reciprocating saw on the way. I will hand my old ones down to my daughter for her to use and enjoy.

Have plans to add a table saw (I use my dad’s when I need one, and it’s about worn out) and a laser in the next year or so.

I went camping for a few days and while the mosquitoes were controllable, the flies were not. I grabbed the DeWalt fan, pointed it at my legs and sure enough the flies left me alone. I also used the tstak radio pretty much non stop along with a few lights.

Picked up the Dewalt DWE6423 5 inch variable speed orbital sander yesterday.

Will see how it works for the sanding of the cabinets I have to do this weekend.

Ordering the boots for the impacts through MAC tools has been a nightmare

I placed an order online for the 899 and a battery boot on the 7th and there's still no update other than the withdraw on my account

I couldn't find the boot for the DCF894 so I called and waited 22 minutes on hold, operator found it and placed an order over the phone, still haven't received a confirmation email or seen funds withdrawn

I may have been better off chasing a local truck around here.

^Yeah, I don't do any online MAC orders anymore. We lost our dealer at the beginning of the year, and I tried to place an order for some ratchets about 4 months ago - the level of misinformation and incompetence was astounding. Thankfully we got a new dealer a few weeks ago, and I've been able to get what I need from him, but I'm done with phone/online orders from MAC. Good luck with the order! If you need any help, let me know and I can place an order for you through my dealer.

I picked up a DWS716 a few weeks ago. I went with the non-sliding model for fewer moving parts to go out of alignment. Also, once the miter saw area reaches its final form I won't have the bench depth for the sliding model. Really happy with it so far.

I'm seeing multiple posts on Reddit that the DCS779 12 Siding Miter saw (now disco. by DeWalt) is going for 200$ clearance at select home depot's. Still 399 online though

Anyone here found one?

You don't plan to do bevel cuts ?

You're correct on the fence. My main use for a miter saw is square crosscuts that are fast and accurate with minimal tearout.

I might eventually modify the fence to be more friendly for bevels. I really don't need that much height of zero clearance.

I'm still sitting on one 8 ah battery from the flipping fest a couple weeks ago.
Actually I could have sold it yesterday but I want to break even with the deal.

The last piece I wanted was the rotating led work light with the magnets. Just arrived from Amazon ($40) and it looks like it will be pretty useful. Seems like it could have more lumens and adjustable focus area.

Not sure what is next... I would like the mower but they need to upgrade it to power detect with two 8 ah batteries before my Snapper 60v dies.

One package came in after I called, turns out it shipped and had a tracking # but he didn't have a reason for why it didn't show up on the website as such..

894 boot should be here tomorrow, will need it's slight modifications but this one fit great! 96f688df2eb5a4832e07c633954e3964.jpg

Could not love this Dewalt Gyroscopic Screwdriver Kit (w/2 batteries) any more than I do ! :)

Started buying a lot of Dewalt power tools around 1990/91, incl most their carpentry tools; chop saws, table saws, sawzalls, jigsaws, sanders, planers, drills, etc-etc.

I do. I own three of the screw drivers. Well the one that handle does move to a postal grip through but still the gyroscope screw driver. One of the only yellow tools I own.

have you used this yet?

I been eyeing it for awhile now.
Literally planning on using it tonight. I had a few days off this week, but I had to take the vehicle I'm going to use it on to the dealership this week for recall service to get done. I got it back last night, so I'm going to fire it up tonight to see how it compares.
