Im a little late posting this thread. Anyway, last spring I sold a rental property and the wife gave me the green light to build a shop. After talking with several builders, I went with a steel frame building from a company a few hours away. I agreed to the terms in June of last year and it wasn't completed until October. I was not too happy with that, Once I signed the contract their customer service and communication went to the pits. Overall, the crew that assembled the building did a pretty good job. On to the building, its 30x40x12 with about 14'-6" height in the center. I did one 10x10 door. Mainly it will be used for my own projects and some occasional side work. Ive been a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic for my entire adult life and last summer took a desk job so all my tools are at home now. Currently the building is wired with 200amp service and I am slowing working around insulating and putting OSB on the walls (the price of OSB is fluctuating quite a bit, so I buy a few sheets when it drops). Ive decided to build a mezzanine on the back wall (8x30) to maximize storage, that will happen this summer sometime. And eventually put a lift in. As much as I tried to keep it "my place", the kids were quick to start moving their things in.
