After using multiple different brands of tool box drawer liners, I thought it important to share my thoughts and opinions about my experiences with various manufacturers and brands:
1) Harbor Freight / US General Tool Box Drawer Liner:
It is paper thin and not very effective as an anti-skid material. Benefit is it is readily available and inexpensive. I won’t use it.
2) Eppco drawer liner: Looks almost identical to the HF / US General. Very thin. Made in China. I had high hopes for this product based on Amazon reviews. I never return an Amazon purchase. I returned this material. I was completely underwhelmed.
3) Kobalt / Zerust mesh drawer liner:
The VCI treatment I like. This was my first liner I ever bought for a custom, cut to fit application.
I didn’t realize they made a solid, non mesh version. It is a little thin, but I like it.
4) Kobalt / Zerust drawer liner (solid, non-mesh). This is my favorite. It is a foam rubber, it is thick compared to most drawer liners, probably in the area of 3/16” thick. This gives a nice cushioning effect. Also VCI treated, to help prevent rust. The best of the types I have purchased. Price is reasonable for material and performance. It is actually a non-slip surface.
5) Kobalt mobile tool box liner:
Kobalt made a drawer liner for truck boxes. It is thin and not VCI treated. It’s better quality than the US General and Eppco product, with a smooth, even surface finish. But lacks the cushion and padding of the Kobalt + Zerust drawer liner.
