The Easy Run Engine Run Stand

How is the quality? I love the fact that it can be folded up and placed away when not in use.

Wish mine folded up. Bought it at auction for 40 bucks. Would not be hard to build your own, key switch, temp, oil gauge on a control panel with old radiator up front and gravity fed fuel delivery.

Yep... just drop the sucker on a nice fat tire carcass, jumper leads n a bottle of petrol...
I mean , how long do need to tune it !

Here is a Ferrari Columbo V12 on our easy run. It is a nice tool.

They are very much made for American V8s. If, like us you do not build Ford or Chevy V8 motors you will pretty much have to fabricate custom mounts every time you use it.

I never thought there was a need for a run stand. Then a couple of years ago I built a 327/SBC for a 32 Ford. No biggie. Just another SBC. This thing was the most oil leaking monster I had ever been exposed to. After it was out the 3rd time, we put it on a run stand. Now everything sees the run stand for the first fire up.

JMO but those are a bit wasteful of space and clumsy to use. In my father's shop 20 years ago we only had the engine itself on the stand. We used a laptop on a nearby bench or cart for data acquisition and display, our battery was a standard jump box, fuel was from 1/2, 1, or 2 gallon mower tanks we had bolted to strong horseshoe magnets and stuck wherever feasible, and cooling was a standard cooling tower. We had each of those in the shop already for on-vehicle work so we simply recycled them for off-vehicle use.
