Gentlemen, my latest contraption.

It tops out at about 12mph. I used it at an autocross event last weekend and was able to putter around the 1 mile course without issue.

The front wheel is a custom 3 piece setup made from ASA / TPU and uses one way bearings a keyed shaft so the front wheel can free spin when the drill is off.

The throttle is the drill trigger. It's attached to the handle via a custom bracket and longer wires that I soldered into the drill. Given a drill was never designed for this it's hard to feather the throttle so at low speed it just does a burn out until up to cruising speed lol

I'm just waiting on some proper shaft collars to replace the 3d printed one and will cut the shaft down to size. Next steps are to add a cup holder.

Right turns are iffy, you gotta keep the scooter straight and lean your body to the right. The drill is kinda nice down there because it doubles as an always ready kick stand.

I'm tempted to try printing a gear box so I can mess with the top speed and get the drill higher off the ground.

I printed some PLA just fine. I have PETG that I'd like to print soon, I'll dry that first and then store it after use. The AMS 2 Pro seems like it can dry the PETG just fine (once the external power cord for it shows up..) and print it all at once.

I was looking at the Sunlu E2 because of the higher temps. The AMS HT seems like it won't actually hit the 80*+ that they state (and it's only a single spool). I need to learn a bit more about how the Sunlu dryer works with the X2D - right now it's really slick with how smoothly the AMS 2 Pro and X2D integrate and that's nice given how much else there is to learn here.
I have the E2, and it's a great high temp dryer. To print from it, basically the printer treats it like an external spool holder, and you feed the filament manually into the extruder to get it started.

The AMS HT will work just like the AMS2 Pro with the ability to auto feed and retract.

Both have their benefits and drawbacks

Since my last post, I've pushed about another 2kg of PETG through my Ender 3 Max Neo without any printer-related problems, so I'm fairly certain I've got the heat creep issue fixed, at least at the speeds I'm printing. Bumped accel/decel up a bit on the Sonic Pad (2000 up to 2500), doubled the slow-layer speeds, inner/outer walls set at 100, infill at 120. Probably could push it a bit more but I'm at the point now where returns are probably diminishing and I don't want to run into any reliability issues.

Last project was an opportunity for me to get some seat time behind fusion since Solid Edge really lack tools to efficiently work with 3D scan data. My wife grabbed a radio-flyer big-wheel style trike for our 20month old son. He couldn't quite reach the pedals, so I scanned the trike body with my Creality CR-Scan Ferret and designed/printed him a booster seat and cup-holder. I didn't design in enough supports around the snap-fit features, causing them to not print properly, so it's got a bit of hot-glue holding it fully in place. Might re-print someday if needed.

I've been pretty happy with the CR-Scan Ferret. It's not perfect, but it's accurate enough to allow me to design stuff like this FAR more quickly that I would otherwise, and I can usually get it right within a couple iterations.
After running through several rolls of PETG and getting it tuned in pretty well, I switched back to PLA to get settings dialed in and coincidentally started getting some flaky extrusion performance that turned into a complete lack of extrusion. Ended up being a wiring issue. The sprite extruder upgrade came with a jumper/extension harness and when I tried to clean up the wiring and route it through an e-chain, I spliced the extension and OEM harness together. Turns out one extruder wire broke from flexing adjacent to the solder joint.

Life forced me to backburner fixing it, but a month ago I ordered a larger e-chain and some generic stepper harnesses and rewired/rerouted the wiring for the hot end, extruder, and filament sensor. All direct runs without any splices. Wiring has a lot more breathing room in the e-chain now so hopefully no more pinching and breaking.

All good in the neighborhood once again.

I've been working on learning Fusion using the limited free version using some tutorial videos I found. I've improved my skills somewhat in that I can successfully complete the lesson models following along, but trying to apply that to my own work is still a stretch. As such, I've yet to create anything of my own to print. I'm open to suggestions for easier programs with modest or no cost. For what I want to do, the cost of many of the programs is rather steep. I have no previous 3D modelling experience and only limited experience with 2D CAD. I'll PM you for your suggestions.

Just keep using it.

It's completely free and I've been using it for over 4 years both for 2D work (I'm a fabricator with a CNC table) ans 3D work on my 3D printer.
