Put down about 6 snap traps on Monday. Caught 4 mice already.
Guess I need to start keeping those up. Who knows how many of those suckers are lallygagging in my garage at night.

I put 8" of hardware cloth (1/4" steel screen)along the bottom of my barn walls before I put up the interior walls. I hope it deters the mice from getting into my insulation.

Good idea ! I hope it was galvanized !! If not it will rust out in a couple of years.

You need more "capacity" one option -

Kness Mouse Trap / Mfr #: 101-0-003
Capacity: (15) Mice

Take a 5 gallon bucket put a rod across it just below the handle, drill a hole in the bottom of a water bottle and slide it on the rod so it rotates or spins on the rod, coat the bottle with peanut butter and fill the bucket 1/2 full with water. Put a board from the floor to the top of the bucket like a ramp, mice run up the ramp jump on the bottle, it spins, mice gets a bath and drowns. I didn't think it would work, got 8 mice the first night and about 40 in the next weeks. I seen this idea right here on GJ.

Hah, that's not a bad idea. Especially as to not start attracting ants with the bait on the traps.

Caught two more last night with snap traps though.

Has it really been since August that I updated?
I'm really out of practice, I guess.

Somehow managed to survive until my 40th year here on earth and with what better way to celebrate, but to manage to clean up the mess that is the garage enough to fit 3 vehicles in it again. I bribed my youngest boy to help me pick up the area in the garage that I had everything stored in before the first snowfall, and managed to make time to install a new opener on the third stall that didn't have one when we put up the liftmasters.

Since I had two cars that I drive often enough, and am sick of having my truck out in the elements all the time, I wanted to get it inside and NOT have to clean snow off of it everytime I went outside this winter. It barely fits with a shelf behind it, but I make it work. There's about a foot in front of it and 6 inches behind when it's pulled all the way in. As long as I'm not in a hurry when parking, everything is fine with that setup.

I did finally pull all of the shelving off of the wall that the mice got into and re-insulated and drywalled everything up. I even rebuilt the shelves a bit better than the first time around. Didn't get a chance to finish them this year, but enough to hold totes that the mice won't get into. Only caught a few so far, so they must have found somewhere else warm to hideout this year.

Also managed to get a few AutoX events in with the WRX this year. Won one and did decent in a few others, so not bad for never running the car before.

(Yes, it was a super weedy course for a bit. This was one of the first runs, I think)

So, now I'm trying to decide what I want to do for vehicles. I'm at one of those points that I'm not really happy with anything that I have 100% and am feeling the itch. I've got a 2005 Silverado, a 2012 WRX and a 1992 EG civic with a 99 GSR B series swap, that's currently in a few pieces. The truck has been paid off for awhile, so I don't see a need to get rid of or replace that. It works well enough, despite it's age/mileage. The WRX only gets used a few times a month and is usually relegated to bad weather driving duty, or my trips to my home office a few hours away. The civic was meant to be a dedicated AutoX car, but I never really put a lot of time into it. It's loud, has no interior and has no a/c, so it will never be a commuter car.

I've been thinking about trading in the WRX for a Wrangler. I used to be a Jeep guy and I love those and Subarus above all else. Not sure how practical a 2 door would be, but don't know if I can really stomach a JKU with how little the kids ride in my car. We usually take my wife's SUV if we're going anywhere. So, trade for a Jeep, spend the year fixing up the civic and run it at a few AutoX events, and then get rid of it for likely an older WRX or STi, most likely. I can't stay away from Subaru for too long, but I'm just not sure if I'm into my current setup or not. I'm in no hurry to do so, as I'd definitely need to de-mod the car back to stock if I got rid of it, and I don't really want to spend time in the garage when it's this cold out if I can help it.

Anyhow, just thinking outloud. Sorry for the wall of text update, but I haven't taken any worthwhile pictures lately.
