I like the CoverCraft flannel lined about $175. Very old school. Kind of like flannel-lined denim.

They will send you samples.

No affiliation on my end, just a satisfied customer.

I like the Plushweave from California Car cover. They're 100% cotton with flannel lining. I have one on both Vipers and the '72 Plymouth. They're gray in color, which I like over the tan color the Covercraft covers are.

I got this idea from another forum. Go to Walmart or a fabric store and buy enough flannel, fleece, etc to cover the car. You'll have to glue or sew ( I glued ) the two pieces together. It won't be a perfect/snug fit but it will deinitely keep the dust and stuff off while in the garage. It also shouldn't scratch. Don't remember how much exactly I have in it but I believe it was 20-30 dollars Much cheaper than the custom covers

I have the same cover. Beautiful scratch free car cover. Just under $300.00.

For most of my cars, I use (old) bed sheets, sewn together to a size slighter longer than the car. Use a fitted sheet (1/2) at each end to hold it on the bumper. Net cost: a few minutes on the sewing machine, protection is good for indoor storage.

For indoor storage, any cheap cotton cover will do an excellent job. The garage does the protecting of the car.
For outdoors................why would you store a classic car outdoors?

So, in the end, it really doesn't matter. A cheap one will do the same job as the most expensive one.

I wouldn't mind getting a new car cover myself. I have an age old (like maybe 1991 or so) Wolf Evolution 3 cover (discontinued now, but what's left is for sale heavily discounted), ... I haven't used it in a long time, that i s until I read this thread and had to go out in the freezing garage and put it on, lol.

Although my classic cars are stored inside the garage, there's a lot of dust and leaves, etc that settle on any car even in the garage. Esp during mowing season or leaf season (that means all year, lol) and a cover would keep that stuff from settling on the car.

I've had a couple from California Car Cover, and they are very nice.

One of these days I'm going to make my own...I have tons of old T-shirts from car shows and whatnot stuffed away in dresser drawers, I figure there's enough of them that I can sew them together and make a couple car covers. :)

Just a quick reality check for those unfamiliar with what scratches paint. It's not the car cover unless you use something like a steel wool car cover. It's the dirt. I don't care how soft your car cover is, but if there is dirt on your car you are effectively rubbing dirt around with a dry soft rag.

To most guys, it's no biggie, just buy a car cover that fits well. For the swirl paranoid, it's something to lose sleep over.

Bought the California car cover with the flannel lining. Figured the car that was under it was worth the price. Thanks to everyone with an opinion

It's really depends on what kind of protection you are looking for. You may want to check out CoverQuest.com they offers different type of fabrics. Reading it really helps narrow down to the best one that fits your needs.

A friend has about 13 cars in his garage. OK, it's a big garage. Anyway, he has a variety of brands of car covers, but he also covers the car covers with plastic sheeting that he clips on. That keeps the car covers clean, so he doesn't rub dirt and grime into the paint.

I have a Kenco cover...it's made of tyvek and is very light. It's not water proof but it keeps the **** off. I use it every day at home and at work. I originally copped a bit of flack at work but others have unsuccessfully copied me. When I bought my cover I sewed reinforced straps with plastic caribiner style clips on them. Then I made up four small 'hoops' out of stainless tig wire and attached them under the sills. The straps clip onto the hoops and the cover never blows off. In a normal breeze the cover actually balloons and hardly touches the car. It takes about two minutes to fit.

I loved my cal car cover one and I even had it stored outside for a bit as well and never had leaking issue with it.
