As I have a little time, I started researching stuff that's been sitting around in the shop.

This is the first set of parallel jaw pliers with a side cutter that I have ever seen.
This one is 6" long

Nice find. Schollhorn "BERNARD" No. 102 pliers with side-cutters, PATENT 1,064,968. These pliers were interwar through WWII, Federal Stock Number 41-P-1992-6. They went in Armorer’s Kits, among other tool-sets. The compound jaws give a better grip without putting a lot of pressure on one area like lineman pliers do. Schollhorn was a huge US Army supplier. Mainly pliers, crimpers, and revolving belt punches and the like.

I have a pair of them I got from my dad. I suppose he picked them up sometime in the 1950s. They're very useful tools.

I have some of those pliers and they are among my favorites, for sure.
The parallel jaws are super handy.
The little slit down the center of the jaws is useful too.

Unfortunately, it seems like a well meaning previous owner replaced 2 of the 3 machine screws in my pair with hardware that is too long. I'll be at the local Ace this weekend to correct that mistake.

I have the same pair, love them. Use them about as much if not more than regular pliers

Pictured here with 5" Knipex pliers wrench.

Here is a photo of the ones I have found.

The pair on the left are apparently made for joining belts on sewing machines.
I forget where I read that though.

I think they are missing a threaded pin or two (or something)...
054 (800x600).jpg

No markings on that pair, aside from this number.

My old number 107 McMaster catalog lists the parallel pliers for sale, but I could not find them in their online catalog.

Private, that's a dang nice tool kit !
Who makes the vise ?
Sorry, Brian, that NOS G-61 armorer's kit is not mine. I have edited to clarify that now. Source unknown. I am helping someone in Australia put one together, though, and I will ask him if he knows the vise supplier. The manual does not include mfgr's codes.

I have the pair of Schollhorn pliers with side cutters that my father bought probably in the 1950's. I can clearly remember him using them on projects around the house. They will be passed along to one of my boys with his other tools that I still use regularly.

Picked up a slightly bigger mate for my Wm. Schollhorn BERNARD No. 102 6-1/2" pliers with side cutter (shown in post #2 above) at the flea market this morning. This is the Wm. Schollhorn BERNARD No. 102 8" pliers with side-cutter. Same brand markings and patent number (1,064,968) around the pivot.
