Hey GJ'ers,
My wife and I are about 1/2 way through escrow on our very first house. We are pretty excited but of course I am most excited about finally having a real 2 car garage. Right now at our rental we have a little 1.5 car garage which is about wide enough to drive a smart car through... Its a detached 20x22 so not the largest but it gives me room to work on my dirtbikes, maintain the cars, and drink some cold beers with the dog. Dont worry he doesnt drink - hes still a puppy and not of legal age yet...
The original owner is a 93 year old single woman so as you can imagine the garage was not a priority except to park her Buick and store some house paint and stains...
Right now the garage only has one outlet and a 4' light that is near worthless over the work bench. Basically the light from the garage opener is all I have...
So my immediate plans are to run some more plugs off the 20A to at least make it useable for the immediate future. I will plan on adding another 20A off the main pannel so I can run my compressor, stereo, beer fridge, lights, and tools as needed.
I havent really thought of the layout yet but i will put some wood in the rafters to put the wifes holiday decorations so they are out of sight - out of my mind!
She has a small work bench that will likely stay with the cabinets and I may eventually build another one to the left of the big faux-wood cabinet.
I will need to build a small shed to get the lawn equipment out of the garage because of the space it takes up. Eventually I want to be able to park the wifes car in there but I have priorties first.
