Well guys I'm on day four of five in my garage cleanout...I hope to be 100% done (although I guess a garage is never "done") by tomorrow night. I need to finally get it fully clean and organized because I absolutely can't work out there anymore, and I have a Formula Vee/Formula 1200 race car on the way (takes up a lot more room than my race kart) and I want to have a proper shop I can work in.
Up until last fall my garage looked pretty much like this picture (old picture, though...I now have a nice bench, much bigger toolbox, more equipment, etc. etc. etc.) but you get the idea of how I had it organized. You can still see some of my mom's **** around the perimeter but it wasn't a ton so I could deal with it. Over the winter she just kept piling more and more and more **** out there "just until the finds a place for it" to the point where I literally could not work in there anymore. I have already filled my F-150's bed and 5x8 trailer full of garbage three times and taken them to the dump...it's unbelievable the kind of **** she had stored in there. FOUR huge rubbermaid bins full of shoes...ridiculous. Luckily my dad gave me full permission and encouragement to throw ALL of it out. I'm keeping my mom as far away from the operation as possible. Wish me luck...pictures to follow at some point today.
