Just to get the bad taste out of my mouth over the schit I'm getting for my BEEOOOTIFUL gazebo job (lol) I will post an engine shot of the '55.I never tire of seeing your '55!![]()

Dan, my brother was a sports fanatic and he rooted for the Yankees, Giants and Nickerbockers. Growing up in the '40s and 50's he was over the moon when the Yankees won five straight World Series (1949-53). He only knew about their four year in a row World Series from our father (1936-39) and he passed away long before the Yankees won three World Series in a row (1998-2000).It will be entertaining to true baseball fans. I am pulling for a Dodger vs. Yankees World Series - the absolute classic of old. That has not happened since 1981! Longer ago than some of you have been alive so maybe you don't know it is considered the classic series.
Just to clarify: the Dodgers did not "abandon" Brooklyn at all. They were essentially driven out over the issue of who would decide where this private enterprise would call home?Dan, ..... In one of his unkindest moments he gave back what he got when the Dodgers abandoned Brooklyn for Los Angeles.

Here you go, Dan.,What name or brand rust encapsulator? There will be a LOT of waste of course. I just sanded the surface rust off today using my orbital sander but I think I'll use a fiber or wire wheel on some of the harder to get-to areas.
I was planning on using Rustoleum though I am sure there must be better products on the market. One of the bottom structural horizontal pieces is 1/2" square tube. It has a couple spots of bad cancer. I'll cut those out and weld in patches. I'm a ****** welder but I can use grinder, ha ha!
PS: Just checked Amazon for "rust encapsulator spray" and up comes Rustoleum "Rust Reformer" and also "2 in 1 Rust Reform and Seal". I only mention Rustoleum again because I can go down to Home Cheapo and get it where the Eastwood stuff listed has to be ordered and is 3 to 4x as expensive....again a lot will be wasted as overspray.
Nevermind. The 2nd Rustoleum product is "rubberized" which I don't think will work well for this purpose.

He may not find that. Anything with a .97 in the price is leaving stock forever.
Dodgers uncharacteristically beat the Mets 9-0 tonight. Nice for a Dodgers fan, painful for a Mets fan. And the one thing I know for certain is that it will not happen again in this series.
I don't think "Cinderella" has anything to do with salaries in this case. I can't speak to the Mets situation other than they were widely expected to be awful...and were before the 2nd half of the season. So relatively speaking they came out of "nowhere" hence Cinderella....maybe.Well, that comment aged pretty well!! (For the folks who are not baseball fans, Dodgers won Game 3 yesterday, 8-0)
But seriously, calling either the Mets or the Dodgers “Cinderella” is pretty ridiculous. Both have team payrolls in the top 5 of MLB; the Mets around $314M and the Dodgers about $240M.
Thank you Rick. Very thoughtful.Dan, sending condolences for your loss of Fernando Valenzuela. Watched him at Chavez Ravine many times.
Rick
Oh hell no! Ha ha.So where is all the “extra” leftovers going? Your garage?

Looks like a Ridgeline.Had my truck oil changed today. Going out of town this weekend and I'd let it go down to an indicated 19% life remaining. I like to do it by 20-25%. By miles this is just over 6,000 since the last change.
While there I saw this electric Silverado. They've had four on the lot since late February and they are not selling. I asked why and the service writer said because they're $100,000. He said they have about 700hp which is plenty of course. And he said you can really feel the power under your foot BUT you can also feel they are super heavy. They actually weigh MORE than a 3500HD crew dually 4x4! Those weigh 8700lbs. I know what that feels like because I had a brand new one in 2008. He claims the electric Silverados weigh about 9100 lbs!
I checked it out carefully and this is a very cool looking truck. I will likely never own one because of the cost but I like how they look. Remains to be seen how good/bad they are but they have all the features you could want in them. Likely TOO MANY features:
